August of 2024 I contacted ***** *** ******* at Better Bilt Transmissions regarding his company building me a transmission for my van. He informed me that he wanted a cashiers check in the amount of $1500 to start the project. I reluctantly sent the cashiers check as requested. Once he received the check Mr. ******* was very difficult to contact by phone, so much so that his voice mail was full and he became completely non responsive. Eventually I reached out via social media and he responded with violent abusive language falsely accusing me of harassing some other allegedly affiliated shop in his area. This is preposterous as I live in **************** and it has been more than a year since I have visited ******. His communication behavior became increasingly more and more abusive. I have several social media communications I am more than willing to provide. On the day I was to travel from **************** to his shop in ****** to pay the balance and collect the transmission he became extremely abusive and stated that I should arrive within a 1/2 hour window to, as he stated "pick up my shit". Neither my wife of I felt safe in doing so besides, how would he handle ant warrantee issues if and when they ******** was then I requested a refund of my full $1500. He stated that he was willing to refund me $1250 as he charges a "restocking fee". I retorted "how can there be a restocking fee if I have never received a transmission. To date I have never received any refund whatsoever.I am formally requesting a full refund of my $1500.Thank you for helping. PS: although I do have documentation of the cashiers check and a log of our social media dialog, I do not have the ability to scan them and download at this time. I can send them to you via **** if desired.

His order was cancelled because he called me and left me a message that was very rude and threatening me to take me to court because he said I didnt answer my phone and was ignoring him. I had prior contact with him before I left on vacation and told him Id be gone a week taking my son to ****** land for his birthday. He said no worries take your time and make sure job is done right. This was after I compensated him and drop case of for powder coating which wasnt included in the deposit. I drove it there myself. Used my gas and 1.5 hours of time. Got it done in the a lot time I told him. When on vacation I got 3 phone calls on my personal phone saying **** the karate guy was at the listed address on ****** (which isnt the correct location) and was there looking for me freaking out on the people at that address. Also called the powder coater to see if trans had even been dropped off and was done? Which when asked why he called he said he had forgotten the phone conversation! After this incident I dealt unsafe and that this customer was a bit on the unstable side. He was told he would receive a refund 15 percent less than the 1500 dollars for a cancellation and stocking fee. He proceeded to tell me to figure out and he would see me in court. He proceeded with unruly text and I had to ask him to stop harassing me or ******** charges as he had already showed up announced. Im willing to send him a refund of 1275 and end all this. He was explained the cancellation and restocking fee as he was paying for the disassembly, parts that are needed and to get his name on the white board to hold his place in line. So it was a deposit to start a service that I provide. Once the ***** rolling and underway its considered a job and he was to pay the remainder when the job was completed. Not sure why the BBB is even involved as Im not credited with the association and the you post a score for my business. Im old school and deal with my issues like most do. Face to face with customers or via email or texts. In this case he was so belligerent and kept texting me unruly comments. So I asked him to stop. All business charge a restocking/cancellation fee in this business so its not out of line. Its posted on all my business avenues for advertising. Hasnt he showed up announced and then proceeded to deny it and then text me unruly we could have worked this out. My offer is 1275 refund and end this non sense

I am rejecting this response because:

Please refer to my detailed original complaint. Every mention in my complaint is accurate and true. What the business is stating is simply NOT TRUE.

The copies of messaging dialog between myself and the "Business" tell quite a different story than the being professed by the folks at Better Bilt Transmissions.

The simple fact is he took $1500.00 in the form of a cashiers check and to date has refunded $0.

The case is now with Oregon State Attorney General.

    This is not resolved.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****
