April 14, 2023 Repair Order # ***** My vehicle is a **** ***** Tahoe and was towed from WinCo (1) by Bull Dogs Towing, to Squaches Auto. The following available workday I went to person male #1 in the office at Squaches which had recently been bought from Best Auto. I wrote down on a piece of paper with a list that said lock key cylinder, dash light, low engine power and the keychain lock/unlock. Person #1 Took the note and we talked about what I had written down and needed taken care of, I shared I need this to be fixed for the vehicle to be dependable for transportation for me and my children. Person #1 mentioned the year of my Tahoe was a good model. He agreed they would work on the Tahoe so I left my keys for the Tahoe and person#1 said they would get to it and call me back. Two days later I received a call from person #2 asking me to come by the shop. I had no transportation and walked the three miles there and back. Person #1 handed me a four-page invoice, person #3 in the office was chatting up about his wife and his two cars, nightmare before elm street and saving to work on each hobby. They seemed friendly. Person #1 had me sign a service fee bill/ work order. Person #1 talked _Get the invoice from the file folder___ needed to fix all these problems, including a dip stick, made this sound dire and urgent. The amount for a fuel pump etc. was massive. I said I will have to think about this and get back to them. I went to Auto Zone and talked with a person who worked there about Squaches, they said they had a good reputation. I asked my Dad about what I should do because they are charging a high amount for a fuel pump. He said something about ******** which person #2 had also mentioned. I seriously questioned this invoice. I had to make the decision to get the Tahoe worked on at Squachs presuming they were reputable. I went back and talked with person#1 about payments and paying after the third of May and only doing the work needed to make the vehicle run efficiently. He agreed. A few days later I got to rent a house. I went back to Squaches and said to please start and complete the Tahoe and fix it because I am renting a house for my family and need the Tahoe running effectively for good reliable transportation. Person #1 said it would be done in a few days. It had been a few weeks later and Squaches still hadnt started working on the Tahoe. On May 11 person #2 called and said the Tahoe was ready to be picked up. I brought the amount due in cash $1,155.31(on the invoice) Person #1 handed me change. I asked if everything was fixed from my note including the key, the response was yes. As I was walking out person #4 said he was the one who worked on the engine of the Tahoe and that it is normal for some gas to be missing. When I got into the Tahoe the fuel gauge was empty. I went straight to get fuel at the Speedway and 3 gallons of gas came pouring out the bottom of the Tahoe. I went back to Squaches and person #1 went on about peopling and oh how they are stealing gas. I sat on the curb completely distraught. Person #1 said would fix this and get to Tahoe back to me. I later was able to borrow my brothers Ranger for transportation coming into the end of May which is not conducive for transporting myself and two teenagers. About a week later they delivered the Tahoe to my dads address. There was gas in the Tahoe and the key was skipping again in the ignition. I went to WinCo(2) and the Tahoe would not start again, called *** Boys Towing and the Operator came out and told me its the tumbler in the ignition. I was using the ranger when a part went out. Squaches immediately fixed the problem on the ranger and still said they were working on the Tahoe. A week or two went by and my Dad asked if he could handle the problems with the Tahoe for me. I said yes because I was extremely stressed out. Whenever I called person#2 would answer and was extremely rude on the phone including yelling My Father and I went back into the office and person #2 ran my Dad around in circles over which key to use or insert and change, confusing and belittling my Dad. As we were leaving the office persons #1,#2,#4 were laughing and saying this is the funniest Tahoe one yet, person #2 stated I cant believe people wouldnt do their jobs. I left the office disjointed with the terrible service. This encounter lasted ***** minutes . For the next 3-4 weeks my Father was in contact with the persons about the lock, *********.I got the Tahoe back that day and went to ******* and came back out of *******, went to start the Tahoe and the ignition key jammed and locked the steering column. I called the towing company. The operator recognized he was on each call, said he knew that the key cylinder was never fixed and said he used a lubricant spray to start from the last call for the ignition situation. He apologized for his friends, said he knew them and that it ***** this is happening. He Towed the Tahoe back to Squaches where person #1 said they would handle and pay for this situation. .- I told my Dad person #1 said he would fix this and not to worry.Squaches charged my Dad- approximately $1,250. My Dad offered to step in because of the finances andstress. When my Dad took me to pick up the Tahoe on September 29th They made different keys saying one is for the ignition the other for the doors. A black one and a silver one.Within the first week of picking up the Tahoe from Squaches the key was stuck in the ignition again and my Dad called the lock *****, that didnt last and then my Dad took the Tahoe to a mechanic. The point is that the dash light , door key and ignition key still are intermittent. The Tahoe is not safe for me and my family for reliable transportation still. This situation has unfortunately contributed to increased depression this year with the added stressors.
