On 2/14/2024 I requested that my account be unlocked so my payment can be processed. The request went ignored and no contact through the means I contacted them and they sent repossesion tow truck to pick up my vehicle. 02/19/2024. They would rather send the tow truck than take a payment.

As of February 14, ****, the consumer was past due for two installment payments and late charges. Reliable Credit Association, Inc.(Reliable) had been trying to speak with the debtor since October 2023 to discuss their account status but they would not answer the phone, return Reliable's calls, or respond to text messages and letters. On February 6, ****,Reliable mailed the consumer a final demand letter asking them to pay the account current within seven (7) days to avoid further collection, including repossession. No response or payment was received and the vehicle was assigned for repossession on February 14. When Reliable assigns an account for collection, it automatically locks the consumer out of the online payment portal as Reliable would like to speak to the consumer to understand what is causing the payment problems and, hopefully, assist the consumer.

On February 19, a repossession agent made contact with the consumer who called Reliable and explained that they had some health problems and was having a bad time. Reliable expressed empathy for the consumers situation and also expressed concern that the account was 48 days past due and there had been zero communication from the consumer. Reliable stated they were happy to work with the consumer but needed the account paid current. The consumer understood and made the payment.

Reliable received the consumers BBB review a few days later, on February 21, and was surprised that the consumer stated they contacted Reliable about making and payment and we never responded. Reliable reviewed the consumers account and saw no notes of the consumers attempt to contact us. Reliable asked its IT department to search the email servers for any emails from the consumer. That search located two emails from the consumer to Reliables general customer service email address - one on February 15, asking Reliable to unlock their account to make a payment, and one on February 20 sent after the attempted repossession wherein the consumer expressed his upset that Reliable did not respond to his request to unlock his account. Unfortunately, the February 15 email was missed and not forwarded to correct department.Reliable was aware of the February 20 email but it was not forwarded to the correct department until after Reliable received notice of this BBB review.

A Reliable manager called the consumer on February 21,apologized for the missed emails, and explained what occurred. Reliable also explained why the consumer did not have access to the online payment portal during the pending repossession. Reliable also told the consumer that it prefers to work out temporary financial problems directly with consumers, rather than repossesses the vehicle, and provided the consumer his direct email address. The consumer stated that they appreciated the call and apology.

They were not given permission to contact me to get money from my friend. I never agreed to be harassed on my friend's behalf. I didn't sign any paperwork. They have no rights to contact me for someone else.

A consumer listed ************** as a personal reference when the consumer applied for credit to purchase a vehicle from ******************* (dealer) on May 28, 2023 pursuant to a retail installment contract (contract). The dealer subsequently sold and assigned that contract to Reliable Credit Association, Inc. (Reliable) and provided Reliable all of the transaction documents, including a list of personal references. Personal references are often required for a vehicle finance transaction, in part, as a backup in case the lender cannot contact the consumer.

Reliable called **************** phone number one time on November 20, 2023, to locate the consumer. ************** did not answer and Reliable left a general voicemail stating something very similar to the following:

This message is for ***********************. My name is ****** and I am calling because I am trying to reach [consumer name]. I would appreciate it if you can please ask [consumer name] to contact me at [Reliables phone number]. You can also contact me directly at that number if you have a current phone number for [the consumer].

The voicemail did not reference money.

Although the consumer authorized Reliable to contact **************, Reliable has removed **************** phone number from its system and has directed its staff to not contact ************** further. If ************** has any questions or additional concerns, we encourage her to contact the **************, ** branch Manager, ********************* at **************.

I have a loan out with them but they are total jerks. They're interest is 20% crazy high for their loans. They give people title loans which are against the law in **. They don't apply the payments to the bill ontime. I've been late not because I made a late payment but because they didn't apply it to my account on time. **** told me that the overpayment would apply to principle balance but he just straight lied to my face. I would call this place a desperate grab to afford a expensive boat.
