I have had a loan with reliable credit that I've made payments on. I went to pay it off early and had an issue with my bank which got resolved so when the payment retried it should have cleared but for some reason it did not. So I resubmitted the payment for the amount showing due minus the fees of $50. I asked for one courtesy of a waiver of those fees as I've never been late or anything else. They proceed to say they don't waiver anything which working in the financial world for several years I know that's a lie any company can waiver anything even a small balance if they wanted to work with their customers especially ones who have been good customers. I also am trying to figure out how in 2 days my balance went up by almost $80 on top of the remaining $50 I didn't pay. All that should had been left was the $50 I was asking as a courtesy to be waived so I could close out my account.

Upon receipt of this complaint on February 11, Reliable Credit reviewed the customers account. That review revealed that on February 10, 2025, the customer sent ********************************************* a message via its online secure message center asking Reliable Credit to waive $50 in *** fees due to the issues with his bank. A Reliable Credit representative sent a return message that Reliable Credit was unable to waive *** fees. That was not an accurate statement by the representative. The representative should have escalated the waiver request to a manger who has discretion to waive *** fees on a case-by-case basis.  A manager reviewed the account on February 11 and called the customer to apologize that the request was not escalated and to explain that the *** fees would be waived in this circumstance because the customer communicated the payment issues with Reliable Credit and had no history of returned payments. The customer seemed satisfied with that resolution.

I paid off my truck (2012 ****** Frontier) back in July, 2024 and received a duplicate paper title from this company. The title wasnt the correct title. ********************************** has an *** contract with Reliable Credit and has not electronically released the title of my truck. Ive called this company multiple times and they insist they do not have this contract as electronic and refuse to call ******************************* to fix the issue. Therefore, I do not have the title for the truck I paid off from them. The business is refusing to help fix this issue, therefore I cannot get ownership of my truck.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/02/2024

The consumer alleges that Reliable Credit Association, Inc.(Reliable) refused to help her obtain the correct title to her vehicle. As explained below, Reliable was unaware the ********************************** (DMV) held the vehicles title electronically. Once Reliable obtained access to the electronic title, it released its interest immediately and resolved the consumers concern.

Two of Reliables branch offices service ***** accounts -one in **************, ** and one in ********, ID. In June 2021, Reliables Meridian, ID branch office started receiving vehicle titles electronically from the Idaho DMV through a third-party vendor. The **************, ** branch began receiving electronic titles a year later, in June 2022.

On September 4, 2021, the consumer purchased her vehicle from a motor vehicle dealer pursuant to a retail installment contract (contract). The dealer subsequently sold and assigned the contract to Reliables *************************, giving Reliable a security interest in the vehicle which was noted on the vehicles title. The Spokane Valley branch received a paper title from the Idaho DMV on November 26, 2021. On May *******, the consumer applied for a loan with Reliable. Reliable approved the consumers loan application and refinanced the contract into the loan. The loan was secured by the vehicle and Reliable retained possession of the vehicles paper title.

When the consumer paid off the account in July *************************** released its interest in the vehicle by signing the paper title and mailing it to the consumer. On November 19, 2024, the consumer called Reliable stating she sold the vehicle but Reliable gave her the wrong title. Reliable had no record of an additional title. The consumer called Reliable back stating that the Idaho DMV said Reliable must release its lien online. Reliable told the consumer it could not do that because it did not have record of an electronic title for the vehicle, however, Reliable told the consumer they would investigate the issue. In the meantime, Reliable sent the consumer a signed Release and Satisfaction of Interest form she could take to the Idaho DMV to remove Reliable as the lienholder.

Reliables investigation revealed that on November 22, 2021,Reliables Meridian, ID branch office received notice of the electronic lien for the consumers vehicle. Because the **************, ** branch was not set up to receive electronic titles at that time, the Meridian, ********* ordered a paper title for the **************, ** branch. The **************, ** branch was unaware that an electronic title existed for the vehicle. Reliable contacted its electronic title vendor who worked with the ********* to obtain the electronic title, which they finally received on November 27. Reliable immediately released the lien and informed the consumer. The consumer appreciated our assistance.

If the consumer has any further issues with the title, we encourage them to contact the **************, ** branch and ask to speak with the manager.

Aug 2017 was when this account was active it has been 7 years now and the company continues to re age the account attempting to bring it current although it was charged off. I would like this account deleted from my Equifax credit report.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/29/2024

The consumer makes two allegations. First, the consumer appears to allege that their Reliable Credit Association, Inc. (Reliable)account should not appear on their credit report because it was active 7 years ago and was charged off. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) prohibits consumer reporting agencies from making a consumer report containing accounts placed for collection or charged off more than seven years before the date of the consumer report. 15 USC $1681c(a)(4). While the consumers account was opened on August 3, 2017, the opening date is not the trigger for the seven-year lookback period. The seven-year period is based off the date of first delinquency that led to the status being reported, which for the consumers account was May 18, 2019, and begins to run 180 days after that date.15 USC 1681c(c)(1). Accordingly, Reliable presumes the consumers account will remain on their consumer report until around November 2026.

Second, the consumer alleges that Reliable continues to re age their account. This complaint appears to be a credit dispute. We are unable to comply with the consumers request as they did not provide us sufficient information to investigate disputed information as required by 12 CFR 1022.43(d). If the consumer wishes for us to investigate further, they must provide the specific information that they are disputing and an explanation of the basis for the dispute. In addition, they must provide all supporting documentation or other information to substantiate the basis of the dispute. This documentation may include, for example, a copy of the relevant portion of the consumer report that contains the allegedly inaccurate information; a police report; a fraud or identity theft affidavit; a court order; or account statements. To protect the consumers privacy, the consumer should provide this information directly to Reliable rather than via the BBB.

It is Reliables policy to maintain the accuracy and integrity of all information we report to a consumer reporting agency. Without waiver of our rights under law, if the consumer has any questions about our determination explained above, or if they believe it does not accord with applicable laws and regulations, we encourage the consumer to contact our Federal Way branch office to discuss this matter at their convenience.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/03/2024

The consumer is disputing information Reliable Credit Association,Inc. (Reliable) supplied about them to a consumer reporting agency or consumer reporting agencies. As explained below, the consumer filed an indirect dispute with the consumer reporting agencies before Reliable had an opportunity to furnish their accounts updated status. This premature dispute prevented Reliables subsequent furnishing from processing to update the account status. ********************** has now manually updated the account status with all three nationwide consumer reporting agencies.

The consumers account with ********************** was charged off and assigned to a collection agency on November 20, 2017. The consumer paid off the debt with the collection agency in December 2020, and the payment was remitted to Reliable and posted to the consumers account in February 2021. Reliable furnishes information to the credit reporting agencies at month end and the consumers account status would have been updated shortly after February 28,2021. However, before month end, the consumer filed an indirect dispute with Experian and Reliable received an Automated Consumer Dispute Verification (****) from Experian via eOscar on February 27, 2021. Because Reliable had not yet furnished February 2021 data to the consumer reporting agencies, Reliable responded to the **** that its existing furnishing was accurate and appropriate at that time. Unfortunately, the **** prevented Reliables subsequent furnishing from processing. This is a problem with the consumer reporting agencies indirect dispute process and nothing Reliable can control.

Reliable treated this complaint as a direct dispute and submitted an ************************ (***) form to the consumer reporting agencies to update Reliables furnishing on May 31, 2024. The *** reflected status code 64 (account paid in full, was a charge-off) as of December 2020. Although the consumers complaint demands removal from his credit report, that is not accurate and Reliable is precluded from doing so by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (****).  The **** requires Reliable to furnish accurate information. Under the ****, accuracy means that the information provided by a furnisher correctly: (1) Reflects the terms of and liability for the account or other relationship; (2) Reflects the consumer's performance and other conduct with respect to the account or other relationship; and (3) Identifies the appropriate consumer. 12 CFR 222.41.  Reliables furnishing that the account is paid in full and was charge off is accurate.

If the consumer has further questions, we encourage them to contact our Milwaukie branch office at ************** and ask to speak with manager *************************.

I got a loan from the business asked someone a ton of questions just to find out the answers was bogus a lie and not accurate at all. They lied so they can get paid more money .

      Business Response

      Date: 03/18/2024

On February 22, 2024, the consumer obtained a $1,000 secured loan from Reliable Credit Association, Inc. (Reliable) for funeral expenses (February 2024 loan). The February 2024 loan combined with an existing loan the consumer had with Reliable with a balance of $1,159.24. The February 2024 loan was secured by a camper trailer. Like three prior loans the consumer had with Reliable, the February 2024 loan included a loan origination fee as allowed by ***** law as well as credit insurance chosen by the consumer. The loan origination fee and insurance premium amounts were disclosed and explained to the consumer, and a copy of the loan documents were provided to him, before he consummated the February 2024 loan. The original principal balance of the February 2024 loan was $2,546.19.

The consumer called Reliable on March 6 toward the end of the business day upset about the balance on his account. He wanted to payoff the account and thought the balance was higher than it should be. Reliable explained that the loan origination fee and premiums for credit insurances chosen by him were included in the payoff amount. Reliable further explained that those fees were disclosed to him orally and on his loan documents which were given to him to review prior to signing. The consumer was not satisfied and asked to speak to someone in the corporate office.  Reliable transferred the consumer to the voicemail for Reliables Chief Operations Officer (***) as the *** was not available at that time.

The next day, March 7, Reliables *** called the consumer and told him Reliable would accept payment of $2,159.24 (the $1,159.24 balance on the prior loan and the $1,000 paid to the consumer for funeral expenses) as payment in full on the account. The consumer was satisfied and admitted he knew about the loan fee but felt like he shouldnt have to pay it when he was paying off the account so early. ********************** also agreed to waive the remaining balance on the consumers account and furnish information to the credit reporting agencies that the account was paid with a zero balance, which it did on March 8.

Reliable received the consumers BBB complaint after Reliable agreed to the above payment arrangement, however, Reliable called the consumer to discuss the complaint and ensure his concerns were resolved. The consumer told Reliable he submitted the complaint the evening of March 6,before Reliable resolved the matter. The consumer said he had no issues and appreciate the call.  Reliable released the title to the camper trailer to the consumer on March 14.

I am not liable for this debt whit RELIABLE CREDIT ASSOCIATION **** I do not have a contract whit the collection agency, they did not provide me whit the original or updated third party contract as I requested.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/03/2024

The consumer appears to be asking Reliable Credit Association,Inc. (Reliable) to substantiate information it purportedly supplied about them to a consumer reporting agency or consumer reporting agencies and/or to verify or validate the debt that they believe is not owed by them to Reliable. For the reasons explained below, Reliable is unable to comply with their requests.

To the extent the consumer's complaint is a dispute related to information Reliable supplied about them to a consumer reporting agency, the consumer did not provide sufficient information to investigate disputed information as required by 12 CFR 1022.43(d). If the consumer wishes for Reliable to investigate further, they must provide the specific information that they are disputing and an explanation of the basis for the dispute.

The consumer alleges that they requested the original or updated third party contract but Reliable has never received such a request and neither has the collection agency to which Reliable assigned the consumers debt for collection. If the consumers allegation is a request for Reliable to verify or validate the debt, please note that Reliable is not subject to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and therefore is not required to provide such verification or validation. However, upon the consumers written request to Reliable inclusive of information to allow us to authenticate their identity (e.g., their social security number), Reliable will provide the consumer with a copy of the relevant contract. The consumer may also contact the collection agency for information about the debt.

If the consumer has further questions,we encourage them to contact our Salem branch office at ************** and ask to speak with manager **************************
