    I purchased tickets to the ****** on ice show at the moda center. I attempted to contact the moda center multiple times today and they have refused to communicate and I have also been communicating with ticket master and they also refused to contact the venue and confirm if the seats were going to be accessible and instead said the only resolution was to seat my mother in a completely separate area so we were each by ourselves and they refused to refund me. I contacted the event organizers and they stated they didnt know anything about the accessibility of the event and had to control of ticket sales. This is a clear violation of *** law in every single regard possible.

    The venue was located in a city under extreme weather conditions in which the department of transportation had advised unnecessary travelers to stay home and most public transit was out of commission. Multnomah County was in state of emergency. Bridges were closed and *** was down. The show went on and people were forced to either risk their safety or miss the show they had spent hundreds of dollars to see. I literally could not get there. The next showing 4 hours later ended up being postponed- so all those people get to safely go another day. Every single unscanned ticket from the 3:30 show should get to reschedule just like the 7:30 show does. Our tickets for the same day and the same weather need to work the same way. For them to steal money of 3:30 and allow 7:30 to reschedule is unconscionable, for the exact same ice blizzard state of emergency for both show times.

    We spent nearly over $900 on tickets to the 3:30 pm *********************/*************** show on 1/13/2024 at the moda center and couldn'r attend due to the extreme weather and state of emergency declared by the ****************/multnomah county and all the first responders/news stations which all pleaded with citizens to stay home/not travel due to dangerous roads/consitions. We have been told by moda center and ticketmaster that there is no option for a refund or credit (or tickets to the rescheduled show (that option was given to ticketholders of the 7:30 show). The complaint is that the Moda Center should respect government orders of emergency declarations and even if they want to proceed with those shows for people willing to ignore such orders, a refund option should be mandated given the extreme and unusual circumstances (ie they recommended taking public transportation to get there but trimet suspended services) that prevented us from going to an event that we very much wanted to attend as evidenced by spending hundreds of dollars on tickets.

    Thank you for helping myself and other people who were also in this unfortunate situation. It sounds like all of the public outcry has resulted in them reversing course and that they will indeed offer to reschedule/refund people who did not attend the show due to the state of emergency declaration. Thus I believe this matter is resolved and the complaint can be dropped though I do believe that the BBB reaching out on our behalf certainly helped nudge them to do the right thing so thank you for being there and helping us little guys! -Vinnie

    This is in regards to the ***************/********************* show at the Moda Center on 1/13/24 at 3:30pm. Due to increment weather our area was under a state of emergency and ODOT advised to stay off roads unless absolutely necessary. The 3:30 was NOT cancelled or delayed, but the 7:30 pm show was. There is no recourse for the patrons who purchased tickets for the 3:30 show and decided to not risk their lives to attend the show. This is a grave injustice and the Rose Quarter/Moda Center should remedy this and be held accountable.

    On January 13, 2023, the MODA center decided NOT to cancel the 3:30 pm ***************/********************* Restless Leg show, despite the winter storm. The *** shut down as we were waiting for our train to the venue, road conditions were unsafe (ODOT urged people not to be on the roads), and there would be no public transportation to deliver us back home. There was a massive outpouring on social media to cancel the show and refund tickets, reports of the show estimate only about 20% of ticket holders made it to the show. Every other venue cancelled their events. Deciding to hold the event forced people to choose between losing a significant amount of money (we lost $360 dollars) or putting their lives at risk traveling to the venue. We would like MODA to arrange with Ticketmaster a refund for ticket holders of this show.

    Moda Center / Live nation did not postpone 3;30pm show of **************************************** Restless Leg Tour, Saturday Jan 13, ****. Massive winter storm closed down and / or made unsafe virtually all modes of travel that day to the venue. They later canceled 7:30pm show. Thousands of people, representing hundreds of thousands of dollars in ticket revenue kept by promoters. Here is FB post which was only source of information. "?????? Todays shows featuring *************************************** as well as the Winterhawks game are proceeding as scheduled. ??????We advise fans to arrive early to ensure smooth parking and entry at the Rose Quarter. Please note that parking in garages and in nearby neighborhoods will be limited due to dual events this evening on campus and winter weather conditions. We strongly encourage you to consider carpooling, utilizing TriMet, or opting for ride-share services. Give yourself extra time for your commute and, most importantly, have a safe and enjoyable time at the show!"

    Transaction date was on 06/24/2023. I spent $284 purchased through Ticketmaster, but the event was at the Moda Center/Rose Garden. At the time of the event (*************** and *********************) , a state of emergency due to winter bweather was declared by the Mayor of ********, and it was unsafe to travel to the event. The Moda Center did not cancel the event, so no refund will be provided (yet they canceled the second showing of the event which was only two hours later. I am wanting to seek a refund for my tickets due to not being able to make it to the event due to weather that was deemed unsafe to travel in the ***************.My ticket order through Ticketmaster is: Order # **-59452/SEA

    On June 23, 2023 I purchased one ticket for the ***************/******************* Restless Leg tour on January 13, ****. On the day of the show, ******** went under a state of emergency status due to snow and ice accumulation. Public transit closed and the governing authorities strongly encouraged people to not get out on the roads due to the dangerous conditions. ******************* venues cancelled shows except for Moda for the 3:30pm showing of the Restless Leg tour. The venue refused to cancel even though there public transit it suggested attendees take was closed 1 hr before the show. The same show at the 7:30pm time slot reviewed postponed status and refunds if the new date didnt work for ticket holders. The weather conditions were the same as the 3:30pm slot yet the venue chose to hold the show despite dangerous conditions without offering refunds.

    Purchased tickets for an event scheduled for January 13th **** at the Moda Center back in June of 2023 ( ************* *********************). A winter storm was forecasted several days in advance of the event and on the day of, the **************** issued a state of emergency with orders to stay off the road unless necessary. Taking public transportation was not an option due to Trimet halting services in the middle of this winter storm. Ice, snow, freezing rain all preceded to happen on the day of the event. Other venues in the ******** area canceled or rescheduled their events. This business was irresponsible in messaging to ticket holders to take take advantage of public transportation, when it was not possible. Driving to this event in the middle of a winter storm would not have been safe for anyone. I chose to obey orders and not contribute to risks in the road. This business did not act in the best interest of the public by not cancelling the afternoon show at 3:30.

    The Moda Center at the Rose ****** in ********, **, refused to cancel an afternoon event during an extreme winter weather advisory. A state of emergency was declared in ******** and put in place the day prior. Both the ******** and WA *********** of ************** urged people NOT to travel between 4am 1/13/24 - 4am 1/14/24 (first advisement timeline). All light rail lines, which the Moda Center urged customers to use to arrive at the venue, were suspended a full hour prior to show time. The sports event in the arena next door (owned by the same parent company) canceled their event prior to showtime, as did every other event center in the city. Customers urged the Moda Center in hundreds of social media communications to please cancel or reschedule the event. By 11am, the Moda Center advised that both 3:30pm and 7:30pm show times would proceed as scheduled. Over 125 thousand locals were out of power and numerous downed trees and powerlines made driving treacherous. Between 5:30 and 6pm, the Moda Center canceled the 7:30pm show and yet still refused to issue refunds or rescheduling for the 3:30pm show they dangerously allowed to continued. Many people are reportedly stuck at the venue, in dangerous blizzard weather, now that public transit has been suspended. Ticketmaster, who sold tickets to this event, is refusing to intervene or offer refunds on their ends. Weather conditions DID NOT CHANGE between the 3:30pm and 7:30pm show times. The Moda Center willfully put profit ahead of the safety of both their patrons and their staff. And after acknowledging that the weather was too dangerous to allow the building to remain open, they are doing nothing to compensate customers who chose safety over bodily harm or damage to their vehicles who did not attend the 3:30pm show, despite all government officials advising people to stay home and off roads. Someone needs to intervene; no business should be able to hold their customers' money and well-being hostage like this.

    The Rose Quarter did finally respond to ticket holders on 1/19/24 regarding a rescheduled date. Because I have not received my re-issued tickets, I had waited to contact the BBB with an update. I understand that this ticket needs to be closed before my issue is fully resolved, but I'm hopeful things will work out with the vendor.

    Thank you for your help in this process! I truly believe the involvement from the BBB and OR ************************* is what prompted the business to finally respond and do the right thing.
