My partner and I came to check into this hotel because it was freezing out, and we live in a mold-ridden RV with no water when the weather is freezing and no heat. When we pulled in, ******* came out to our car and started shouting over the wind that there would be a$200 pet deposit because we are local. We were not asked if we were local. The room was paid for in advance by my partner's aunt, who asked questions about the pet policy and was told that it would be $30 for a pet. The Best Western website states that the pet deposit is $100. The biggest problem is that the animal with us is not even a pet. My partner is permanently disabled, and her dog is a licensed service animal. She explained this to ******* and was told that she "charges everyone a $200 deposit" for an animal. When the *** was invoked the story changed and suddenly all locals are charged an unadvertised $200 deposit. We do not have a spare $200 lying around, or trust, based on the misleading and conflicting information provided to us, that this "deposit" would be returned or managed fairly. When we asked that the cost of the room be refunded, ******* insisted that it was not prepaid. She tried to claim that there was nothing in our names, and then changed her story. She refused to provide my partner with a printed receipt. We have been denied service and treated rudely, and we have no confirmation that the kind-hearted woman who tried to help us with the basic human dignity of a warm shower and bed for the night was not charged for services NOT rendered. It is now after midnight and 24 degrees outside and we are left sleeping in a car, two women and their service dog. That is not fair, that is not good customer service, that is not in keeping with the advertised rates of this establishment.
