  they were amazing until they were not and chose not to be. as a musician that has suffered with his own issues, they were quick and easy to start with when I really began releasing my music. however, after 3 months of working with them, i received an email one day stating that "a music partner reported abusive amounts of streaming associated with your content". without consulting me or any conversation, suspended my account and removed my tracks that I had distributed, from all streaming services. 4 songs but more than $300 gone. they stated they refused to work me with again as if it was something I had done. They also let me know they were not giving me any of my royalties, those that I was waiting to receive, and are rightly mine for my music. when trying to contact them, all I got was that they detected AI streams and that this decision was final.. after talking to several bots first, of course. The best part is that just about all of my streaming counts are through *******, which through speaking to them right after this email, I learned that they sound my counts were fine and did not send anything to my distributor. i dont believe it is entirely fair to go straight to removal of my music when i believe no real artist, wants AI streaming. this was not something i wanted or asked for. i don't believe anyone signs up for what happened to me and i know that i am not the only one. so, if you want great service for 3 months and the rug swept from under you, all your money that you put it to be a waste and all the profits you made to be never seen and taken by them, GO TO CD BABY!

  Buyer Beware On 11/26/24, I requested to termination of a ********************** that I had had for 2 ******** the first email (on 12/11) I received from cdBaby, they said it could take up 4 weeks. Three weeks after their first response (on 12/30), I was told it could take up to 4 months. I continued to reach out. On 3/19/25, another representative sent me an email stating *I can help you with the cancellation of your Pro submissions, will start that process for you now."On 5/16/25, I inquired again. On 5/23/25 I was sent some kind of automated email stating that since this ticket has been active for so long, they are assuming the issue is resolved. It has not been, and it appears they have no intention of honoring their agreement.

  This company will not pay you after reaching your pay point. I have contacted support several times for over 3 months and still have not received a response or royalties.

  The company has very poor customer support, and doesn't fully deliver on its stated services. Example: I had a release date that has since passed and it's been in limbo with Apple Music. I found out on Reddit and other message threads that it's a KNOWN problem for may others as well, and CD Baby hasn't done anything to fix it. They also do not reply to requests for support. Currently, my only recourse is to complain like this, and dispute the charges with my bank.

  Absolutely and unequivocally one of the worst DSP's out there. They are happy to take your hard earned money but will not actually release your product within a resonable time frame when selecting digital distribution. In addition, there's zero phone support, zero customer support, zero returned emails, but plenty of useless "bot" chats to anger you further. Our company has already refused CC charges and is in the process of filing a formal complaint with the *** under "Scam" businesses.From the 100's of complaints below, I seriously hope people have been warned.

  As a former employee, I was blown away that CD Baby removed a release I had without any prior communication nor notice. They said there were irregular streaming patterns and when I reached out, I received no response. I had ***************************** of former Taking Back Sunday on a track, barely broke ***** streams and they removed my work. So happy I dont work there anymore, seems to be an absolute mess. Use DistroKid instead, way less headaches and way more responsive. Im done with CD Baby and AVL as a whole. They have no clue what theyre doing anymore.

  I've used this company to distribute several albums. One of them was by a band (I'll call Band A) which was released in 2013. In 2015 I put out another release by a different band (Band B). Around 2016, the album by Band B was taken over by another entity, who cancelled my release and created their own. Around this time (I can only guess), CDBaby changed all of the names of the songwriters on the album by Band A, to people I either do not know, or to some of the people in Band B. I discovered this last year, and immediately sent an email asking for this to be resolved. They finally responded this week (!), and proceeded to immediately gaslight me, telling me that I did this, and after an album is submitted, nothing can be changed. I DID NOT DO THIS. Why on earth would I add songwriters I do not know, or from a band that didn't exist yet?? They refuse to even look into it. This is either some weird scam, or they are unwilling to pay someone to fix whatever caused this. I will never use this trash service again.

  CD Baby fails to distribute music metadata correctly causing inconsistent releases and albums released under the wrong artist. When I reached out numerous times to have them fix it, they told me it was my fault and I had to file a separation letter. How is it my fault?You're the distributer, not me.

  CD Baby after the release on their platform claims creators' music and videos as own, which is not cool. There was a legit copyrights verification by Sound Rxchange that granted perpetual rights to the owner. Still, music videos on ******* CD Baby claims as own copyright material. If this is a monetization trick, than write a reply. Company does not offers explanation whatsoever. In the agreement wasn't mentioned their 30% draconian claim on videos income neither. On September 15 received the note that my downgrade from Pro to Standard for other 3 songs will go in effect on October 1. Nope! CD Baby are still kipping them as hostages. Need an explanation and actions.

  CD Baby PRO is a thief. They stole my publishing and refuse to release it back to me. I have emailed, called, and virtual chatted with no response. No one answered the phone, responded my emails, or been able to talk to a live person. Terrible service and I want out of CD Baby PRO.
