I was arriving near my destination in ******************, and I saw a parking lot next door, so I drove over there and pulled up to a sign so I could read it, which was at the end of a parking spot. When I saw that it was a paid parking lot, I backed out of the spot and left. Found free street parking on the next block.A few days later I got a notice in the mail from skyyparking that I have a $55 parking violation. I never turned my car off, never left my car, and I was there for maybe 1 minute. and they know that I didn't actually park there, because they sent pictures along with the violation that shows me "parking" there. so I found that very unprofessional.I am in the processing of disputing this violation, but I wanted to get this on record that skyyparking is using predatory ticketing.

The complainant's vehicle was on our property and captured by our surveillance equipment. The vehicle was parked. The complainant followed the appeal process and further review was conducted where the parking violation was dismissed.

I parked at the 303 S *************************** to have dinner at a nearby establishment. I did not notice any signage as I was entering the lot (no machine, gate, obvious place to pull a ticket) so I parked and assumed that on the way out I would be required to pay. When I returned to my vehicle 2 to 3 hours later I had a ticket for $58. $10 for parking and $44 for the "late" fee. Had there been a ticket machine, big sign or gate upon entrance it would have been clear and obvious what the instructions were. Having never parked at this garage before I didn't know the protocol. After we returned to our vehicle and saw that we had been issued a ticket, we proceeded to exit and at that time saw the machine where we should have grabbed a ticket initially to place on our dash. To me this is clearly predatory parking and we were obviously parking in the spot and prepared to pay as we left. Because the instructions were not clear and placed at the entrance we have now incurred a late fee. We saw that MANY other cars had tickets and I am guessing that they had the same predicament as **. Now I know that this is the parking protocol but I will be avoiding the Skyy garages like the plague! Classic predatory parking right here!

Good day, This parking garage is registered with The **************** for enforcement related activities. The garage has been inspected and met the code requirements for signage. The ********************************* only has the authority to overturn a parking penalty that was issued incorrectly or if the registered owner provides valid proof of payment within 30 days of issuance. Just as the complainant did not follow posted instructions to pay, the complainant also did not follow instructions on how to appeal correctly. We appologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused the complainant but there are no valid grounds in ************* Code that would require the dismissal of this violation. As such, the complainant's request to overturn this parking penalty is denied. Complainant is advised to observe, respect, and obey all postings.

Good Afternoon BBB team, I am reaching out as I was given a parking ticket from a company titled Skyy Parking around the date of April 8th, 2023. I was parked in a public parking space which had recently been bought out by a business owner to monopolize a parking lot which had previously been free parking. I reached out to the city of *************************** who informed me that this business is a fraud, that they had never heard of the Skyy Parking, and furthermore informed me to ignore the parking ticket as Skyy Parking, according to my local police department, has no legal right to put me through collections, or search for my personal information such as my address. Skyy Parking has since mailed me a letter threatening sending me to collections for $58.00. The reason I am reaching out to you is, because I was informed by law enforcement that this company is illegally issuing parking tickets; recognized by the local police as fraud; and they have illegally obtained my personal information such as my address. I would hope that you can work to contact this business, as all I have for contact information is an email to employees who reply in anger that I am not paying them, and an untrustworthy P.O. Box to their company which again doesn't exist according to the local police. The **************** informed me to reach out to you, the local BBB to see if you can stop them from sending me to collections, illegally.Thank you for your time, *********************

This parking location is not the public right of way - it is privately owned and parking requires payment in advance as posted. This location has been approved by The ***************** to operate as a paid parking lot. Complainant should conduct due dilligence prior to making false statements regarding business operations. Complainant has prior history of parking violations at other locations for failing to obey postings. Parking violations are issued as alternatives to towing vehicles. Since complainant did not make payment to park his vehicle, there is no just cause or valid grounds to overturn this violation. Please inform complainant that his vehicle is now in the impound list if parked in violation with postings.

I am rejecting this response because:
They are still lying. Whether I parking in your location in the past or not, the city police inform any and every person who receives a ticket from SKYY. As a result, I would like my ticket expunged due to the fact that they arent recognized by local law enforcement as legally allowed to send me to collections. I would inform them to contact the ***************** Police for any further questions regarding my recorded phone conversations with the city police before they accuse me of making false statements about the law.
    Sincerely,

    *********************

On 4/4/2023 I parked on ********************************************************************************************************. This location is a parking lot for SKYY Parking. I received a ticket for parking there without payment, even though I was ******* to grab my girlfriend from work who was suffering from a health related emergency. I was back to my car no later than three minutes, and found a parking ticket from SKYY. The problems began when I contacted SKYY via email. I was told via email that I am denied a right to a court appearance, that I was not allowed to contest my one and only ticket, and they also lied to me, stating that I have two parking tickets with them at this location, which is a lie as Ive only ever received one parking violation from them. Finally, I contacted the ********* ***************** who informed me that this company is a scam and that I do not need to pay them. I am looking to ensure SKYY Parking does not send me to collections due to them operating illegally.

    Business Response

This parking location has been approved by The ***************** as a pay to park facility. The complainant did not make payment and stored his vehicle on private property. Posted signs throughout the facility indicate that payment is required in advance. Complainant does have a history of parking without authorization at other affiliated locations. There are no grounds to dismiss this violation. Complainant must observe postings and respect property rights.

I am rejecting this response because: I have paid the required violation in full.  the fees I have now incurred have happened as a result of trying to communicate with the business.  I did send prompt payment upon receiving each notice related to my correspondence.

I want this issue resolved with the full payment I have made.

I paid $12 for 12 hours of parking at the automated machine. It was out of paper and I had entered my license plate info so I wasn't worried about not getting the parking slip. I returned two hours later to find a ticket with at $10 charge for parking an another $44 in penalties. I appealed with the business and they would not refund my initial $12 payment nor waive the fees even though I acted in good faith and they failed to maintain their machine. Quite predatory.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/29/2022

Posted instructions at site indicate that if machine is out of paper to not park subject to penalty or impound at owner's risk and expense, in compliance with ******** City Code. Skyy Parking does not operate parking equipment and only conducts parking enforcement related activities. If the complainant wishes for a refund, the complainant should request one from the organization that oversees the parking equipment operation. Any further request or communication must be in accordance to ******** City Code.

Skyy Parking is attempting to charge me for parking violation of expired registration and overtime p[arking for a vehicle the has never been nor will be titled or registered to me. I appealed this ticket AND **** emailed me saying REVENUE upheld the ticket(s), however I have not received any notification from said department. **** also never answers their phone nor returns messages and they have provided no proof, such as photos, etc. This is a SCAM. I will refer this to both the ************ ************************** and the ******** **********************

The DMV has the complainant listed as the current or last known registered owner. Please be advised that parking enforcement related activities are regulated by The ****************. The **************** has reviewed this case and upheld the parking penalty issued to the complainant. If the complainant has documentation that the vehicle is no longer in his or her possession, that information should be provided to the **************** to release the complainant from this debt.

Next door to my apartment, there was a free parking lot for use. On 8/18/22 at 630am, I left town to go camping and left my car in the lot in a legal space as I have parked in this lot almost every day for close to a year with no issues. There were no pay to park signs up in the lot and all spaces in the lot had cars in them. On 8/22/22 at around 1pm, my apartment property manager called me and said that the parking lot management company was planning to tow my car. She requested that they do not tow my car as I was on my way home from camping and would move my car. I got home around 3pm and moved my car. I had 3 parking tickets from 8/19 10:14am, 8/20 9:51pm, and 8/22 10:40am, all $71 each and a tow notice on my window. I have reached out to the company to erase the tickets, as the signs were not up in the lot when I left my car, and the company has responded twice being completely rude, and threating to tow my car if I park in their lot until these tickets are paid. My apartment manager confirmed that she had complaints from other tendents about this company ticketing cars in the lot, and that they had not put up the signs 24 hours before ticketing cars. I have asked the company 3 times for an excusal for the tickets because 1, I was out of town when this happened and no one was at my apartment to move my car, and 2 I am a college student and do not have a job. I explained that I did not knowingly leave my car in the lot to gain tickets. The signs were not up when I left and I simply did not know that they put them up and start ticketing cars. I was not home to see the signs and move my car. I feel this is completely unfair and awful that they are being rude when I had no control over the situation.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/24/2022

This parking lot is private property and the complainant did not have approval from property representative or authorization to park at this location. The parking tickets were issued as an alternative to towing the car. The property signs indicating that the lot is pay to park were installed at least 24 hours prior to enforcing the lot. The request to overturn or dismiss the issued parking violations are denied. If these violations remain unpaid after the due date, the complainant's account will be assigned to a third party for debt recovery which may have a negative effect on credit ratings.
