To whom it may concern,I received a Parking Violation Notice for $57:- Pay by Phone Required $44 - Parking Fee $7 - Administrative Fee $6 which is absolutely outrageous. Previously, the parking lot at ******************************************************************** ***** was free for customers. On June 9th, we pulled the car into the lot and noticed the "Pay to Park" signage that wasnt there when we parked there last time. Since I was driving and it was dark at 9 pm, I was not able to read the details (when payment was required). I got out of the car, read the sign that indicated that payment is required 24/7 and left the parking lot immediately which their video/photo footage should confirm.I submitted an appeal to Skyy Parking which was denied.I see that another complaint was submitted on May 3 which describes almost the exact situation and it appears that Skyy Parking was willing to dismiss the parking violation:"I was arriving near my destination in ******************, and I saw a parking lot next door, so I drove over there and pulled up to a sign so I could read it, which was at the end of a parking spot. When I saw that it was a paid parking lot, I backed out of the spot and left. Found free street parking on the next block.A few days later I got a notice in the mail from skyyparking that I have a $55 parking violation. I never turned my car off, never left my car, and I was there for maybe 1 minute. and they know that I didn't actually park there, because they sent pictures along with the violation that shows me "parking" there. so I found that very unprofessional.I am in the processing of disputing this violation, but I wanted to get this on record that skyyparking is using predatory ticketing.Business response 05/03/2023 The complainant's vehicle was on our property and captured by our surveillance equipment. The vehicle was parked. The complainant followed the appeal process and further review was conducted where the parking violation was dismissed."Business Response

Please observe postings. This lot has been pay to park for years. The only difference is that this lot is now enforced by camera.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:It was my first time on the lot since it became pay to park. I was not able to read the details on the sign while driving in the dark without my reading glasses (that I dont need for driving).
I briefly steeped out of the car to find out that it was pay to park for 24/7 and departed the parking lot immediately.
Photo enforcement should document this extremely quick departure.
The appeal submitted just the month before for exactly the same reason and therefore, a dismissal of the extremely high notice should be dismissed.
Sincerely,

Complaint: 20261203
I am rejecting this response because:I had to temporarily "park" the car to actually be able to see the details of the payment requirements due to the time of the day (9 pm) and may need for reading glasses. Once I was able to read the signage, I departed the lot immediately.

Complaint: 20261203
I am rejecting this response because:As stated previously, I did not parkt the car. I never left the parking lot. I only briefly left my car to read the instructions since it was after hours and MY first time entering the lot since it became a pay to park lot.
I was not able to read the payment requirements while driving since it was late and I needed my reading glasses to see the fine print.
I did pay the fee within 30 days to prevent any additional charges but do not think that I should have been charged in the first place
Sincerely,

Received an automatic parking ticket for parking in their lot including camera footage of me entering the lot and me walking to the wall to check rates. When I saw the rates I immediately turned around, got in my van and left. I know they have camera footage of that as well. I wasn't there for longer than 2 minutes - the time to check the rates on the wall, and then leave again. There is no way to call - they don't have a phone number on their website. I only got a phone number from the BBB site, and when I called it said their mailbox was full and to try again later. Appealing the ticket on their site required uploaded documentation to continue the appeal - multiple time it wouldn't accept my file type or size - I spent an hour trying to make an appeal. Have no idea if I will get one, and it seems there is no recourse if it isn't accepted. They absolutely need a way to contact a live human to resolve these issues, and it seems they knew my circumstances cause they have video footage, but they cite anyway and hope to get away with it.Business Response

Received a parking ticket for parking in an un****ed parking lot attached to a restaurant. Skyy Parking seems to intentionally not **** their parking lots and make the majority of their profits off predatory fines. Did not see any signs to pay parking which is clearly in violation of ORS 7.25.080. Attached photos show that there is no clear ****ing that this is a paid parking lot. The ticket has a poor description with the car type and color incorrectly ****ed. This business is intentionally predatory, the BBB has countless reports of similar behavior which is unacceptable.Business Response

Skyy Parking sent me a parking ticket for a parking violation on 6/11/23. I attempted to file an appeal, as I am a DoorDash driver and was hoping to get the parking fine either dropped or reduced due to the extenuating circumstances. While filing an appeal, I was not able to complete the process as the appeal requires some sort of documentation. I attempted to add a screenshot of the DoorDash Order as proof of my reason for being there, but the File type was not supported. When I went to the website to find a phone# or email to get clarification for what file type is acceptable, the only information on their contact page is a PO Box. I was able to ****** their phone number and found it here on the BBB site. But when I attempted to call that number, there was no answer, and the voicemail box was full. this is a very ugly and unreasonable business practice and seems scammy and possibly illegal.Business Response

Dear Sir or Madam,I got a parking violation from their parking lot at **********************************************************************************************. The ticket is not legitimate, so I tried to resolve the issue with Sky Parking, but they provide no phone number on their website. They do have an Appeal Notice button on the site, so I tried to post my complaint there and try to get it resolved, but it is broken and will not let me submit the appeal. I am attaching a photo taking at the time of the violation, its me taking a picture of my license plate so I can go inside and try to pay the fee from their WiFi connection - but the website was still broken when accessed from WiFi. With no phone number and web site not working they are providing me no opportunity to appeal. What do I do next? Why do they not provide customer service for people trying to resolve violations? They do not act like a business at all.Business Response

I am rejecting this response: I submit the issue that when I tried to pay the parking fee the website was down, so I went inside the restaurant to try again from a WiFi signal, it was broken there too. I took pictures of my license plate with Metadata time stamp and their video shows me there trying for several minutes to get the website to work. Their response was this: "As soon as a vehicle is left unattended and without payment, a violation will be documented and issued. " So all they do is repeat the violation, ignore my comment. Where is the discussion, where can I ask questions or make my case? BBB I ask you, are they working with me in good faith here? They will not talk to me, email me, respond here on your site. They send consumers violation tickets then offer no one to talk to or respond to. They insult me as the "violator" and you as an arbitrator.BBB, Do you think the business is working with me in good faith here? Do you see any interaction from their side? If the purpose of the BBB is to help business and consumer reach a resolution then I submit they are not responding, just repeating the violation.
To show my good will, and paid the violation after reading from others on the BBB feedback page that they increase the fine significantly if it is late. I would ask the BBB to look at the response to me and others and considering lowering their ranking even more or maybe convince work with consumers fair and respectful way. These people have the power to take money out of consumers pockets yet provide no real chance to appeal. Note: They have an appeal button on their website but it would not let me submit the appeal. I kept getting an error. So the answer ti always to pay the fine and walk away - not worth your time. But this is puts a consumer is a very bad position with no real recourse. Without giving the consumer a ************ they are effectively stealing money.
Sincerely,

Hello BBB,I received an automated parking violation from this company for using their lot to load my vehicle. Here is an explanation of what happened:Due to the ******** Market, on this day, there was no safe place to load up my daughter and her stroller. As you can see in the surveillance photo, my trunk was open and I was only there for a few minutes. For this violation, this company demands $220.00 with the following breakdown:Pay By Phone Required - $44.00 ******************** Fee - $7.00 Administrative Fee - $6.00 ADA ******************** Permit Required - $165.00 I have paid the fine in full, to avoid penalties; however, why am I being charged $165 to buy a parking permit?Their phone number, which is only listed on the BBB site, leads to a full inbox where I cannot even leave a message.Their only available address is a PO Box, which offers no guarantee of resolution prior to the due date, especially if there is dispute.Their only email address is ******************************** to which I emailed an appeal for the $165 ADA ******************** Permit. In summary: I was surprised to get a fine for pulling over for just a few minutes. I was doubly surprised by the size of the fine. I have paid the full amount, but would like $165 back, as I do not require a parking permit.Thank you for your time.Business Response

I parked in their parking lot and paid for the parking as I should have I received a text message confirmation that I was paid for, and a message appeared on the screen, saying there would be no receipt and not to display anything in the window. I was specifically told by this company not to display anything in the window Then was given a $58 fine for not having anything displayed in the window when the company specifically told me not to do that. They then refused to answer any phone calls, voicemails or emails or any other form of contacting them. It is predatory. It is a scam, and it is insane to me that the *************** would have all of these complaints and not do anything about it .Business Response

Good day, the complainant left several vulgar voicemails. We attempted to address the issue but were not successful through her shouting and excesive use of foul language. This parking lot is private property and the payment device is located between the entrance and exit. *** complainant may have paid to park at another location or street parking but no valid payment was displayed on her dash as required. Our payment device does not text receipts. Complainant was advised to contact the regulatory ********** of *** ********************************* who oversee this propgram and mediate complaints.

Date of transaction: May 10, 2023 At *************************************** I was looking for a place to park and saw a small lot close to my destination which was good because I am elder ** with limited mobility. There were no signs so I assumed it was free parking. I parked, but after my wife got out, she noticed what might be a small pay box down by the exit, though she wasn't sure. Ten days later, we received a letter from Skyy Parking stating that we owe a fine of $55, with photos of our car driving into the lot. What they don't show, is ** driving out a minute or 2 later. We sent a letter requesting that the fine be dropped but they refused. I see that the BBB has received many complaints about this company and their lack of signs. They just decided to hang signs in the their parking lot that it is supposed to be paid parking. These were not there for the last year that I've been parking there to pick up food from a restaurant on that same block. I was there for 3 minutes to pick up my food and they issued me a ticket with an incredibly high fee attached. I explained to them that the signs have not been there for the last year and if I had known it was paid parking I would have gladly paid the fee. They rejected the appeal and charged me over 7 times the amount of the fee. I would have paid them to park there for 3 minutes but they are being completely unreasonable. This company should not be allowed to do this to people. They need to correct it. They are stealing from people.Business Response
