The owner, ******, has been dishonest. Since fall 2022, I have made multiple attempts to contact ****** regarding the refund for services that were not provided. Similar to another complaint filed here, ****** has made empty promises to reimburse my prepaid amount of $950 for summer camps and no-school days. I have tried to resolve this matter directly with ****** and even proposed a repayment plan for the summer, but my attempts have been ignored. If this situation persists for several more months, I will be left with no choice but to pursue legal action in small claims court. I'd advise that you sign your kids up for another camp or no-school day program.

As previous writers and reviewers have noted, after care and camps were canceled last minute. To quote an email from the owner, sent 11/23/22 Our progrmming updates will be as follows:No afterschool for the two weeks of care in December. These families, as well as the families registered for Fall break will be refunded. Please give me the time to reach out to each of these families individually to provide details. I know this week has shaken a lot of the faith in our programs, but hopefully our past track record stands for something. I also know that it will take time, but as our programs continue and become something to count on again, I hope the trust will come back.Yes, the owner had health conditions at the writing of the email. However, patience and latitude was given. Multiple requests have been sent for a refund of $785, and I am still awaiting this. How a business can continue to run and collect money while others are left with holes in their wallet is inconceivable. Faith and trust is completely lost.

There are several issues at hand here:1. In November, this company suddenly canceled their day camps and aftercare camps. Employees sent emails stating the business was in financial ruin and there was little communication from the owner for several days. I lost my money for aftercare camps and for the pre-paid day camps.2. When the owner did reach out, she offered refunds for all missed camps (although I have yet to receive it). Given that I did not receive the refund for camps and programs that were cancelled, I also requested a refund of the four weeks of prepaid summer camps I made. 3. I was told that I would be refunded all of this several weeks ago and still have not seen a refund, nor has the owner been responsive in providing me with an update on when I will receive them.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/14/2023

    Good Morning,

I had a staff member want to start their own company.  So to do this they emailed all of our families that all programs were cancelled etc.  I was in the hospital for 5 days at this time.  By the time I got out there was mass panic and demands for refunds.  I have been refunding as fast as I possibly can.  Programs were not cancelled and all that have current registrations have continued to run.  I understand the frustration of the parents that are still waiting for refunds but I am going as fast as I possibly can.

I am rejecting this response because: I was told on 1/23 that I would be issued a refund by the end of that week (please see attached email correspondence).  I have since emailed inquiring about an update on the timeframe with no response until now. A "going as fast as I can" response does not provide me with an adequate timeline on the refund of my funds.

And, while summer camps aren't cancelled, they are no longer being offered in Happy Valley as they were last year and the afterschool martial arts program was cancelled, and the november no school days (thanksgiving week).

    Sincerely,
