On July 10 2024 Wolcott plumbing services was called as I had a leaking hose bib at the handle. Technician came out and told me my hose bib was too old and could not be repaired which I later found out that it was a lie, it definitely could have been repaired with one or two parts. They installed new hose bib for $617; two months later the hose bib failed spewing water out of handle when water was turned on. Company was called they scheduled to have a technician come back to my house, he never showed up and insinuated I caused the failure of a defective relief valve.I called Wolcott to talk to manager, he wasnt available and didnt call back.Technician called me today and said they could install a different hose bib and said they would charge me half price for $285 to do that which was not acceptable for a defective hose bib that they installed and I paid for, so at this point there is no resolution with this company. This company has no customer service skills and should not be in business if they can not stand by their services and products.

A deep freeze at the end of December 2022 resulted in a leak under my deck in my backyard. We called the water department, they came to look, but were short staffed and exhausted from all of the other leaks from the freeze and did not instruct us to turn off the water. I hired Wolcott Services to come diagnose the leak. They billed us $97 for the diagnosis (but never even looked at the spigots apparently?). They were to come on a Wednesday Friday 1/06 but they rescheduled to Saturday 1/07. The plumber (?) told us to turn off the water and that they would have to remove the deck and excavate to find and repair the leak. They hired a restoration company to empty and clean the crawlspace which was full of water. I told them that I would remove the deck and started to remove it Saturday 1/14. After only removing a few boards and turning the water on I noticed the leak was simply an illegal spigot from the last owner that had broken. I communicated this to the Wolcott plumber and removed the deck boards so he could remove the bad spigot line and stop the leak. We were told we would be reimbursed our $1117.50 deposit for the excavation but were not.I am a single mother and school teacher and have one renter and not having running water for two weeks was extremely difficult, as well as unsanitary and exhausting. I also had not worked in two months and did not have a lot of money to work with. But we managed. When we thought we would finally have water back on the 'plumber' told us he needed us to remove more boards which would make us without water another 24 hours. It was too much at this point. The plumber should have checked the spigots before anything else (the first thing that breaks in deep freeze temps) and charged us for a diagnosis that I did myself at great expense and effort (tools and gear were purchased). I fired Wolcott at this point. I was able to hire another plumber who came out in one day and made the repair in one hour, costing $350. But they already had taken the $1117.50 as a deposit for the excavation that didn't happen. When I emailed Wolcott requesting we get a refund of $767.50 ($1215.50 paid in total) they only credited me $532.50. Leaving a single mother school teacher and her children without water for two weeks and trying to cause damage by excavating unnecessarily is unacceptable. We got a $1700 bill from the leak from the City, purchased tools and gear, wipes, paper plates, etc. All of this could have been avoided had the 'plumber' actually looked at the spigots as a proper plumber would after a freeze. Not acceptable.

Scope of work: Replacement of exterior sewer line Deposit paid: July 18, 2022 Amount paid: $6,940 (Half of total amount due)Scope of time: 3 days, starting end of August 2022 Wolcott had a team of people out to begin work on August 29, 2022. After scoping the line, we were told that the scope of work was larger than anticipated. This was a surprise to us considering that they had already given us a bid with their initial sewer scope. We were then told that we would receive an updated invoice. We have reached out several times to our contact at Walcott, ***************************, and their response has been spotty at best. They stated that they needed to scope our sewer again with the neighbors water running. Upon arriving they then stated that they needed to scope our neighbors house, not ours, which our neighbor was prepared for, or pleased with. I called our contact, and they were telling me that the scope had not be performed yet, and I assured her that they had done the scope, and my neighbor was very annoyed with them. We asked for the sewer report and video of both my property and my neighbors. I assumed I would get my neighbors report because I was under the understanding that we were paying for that scope. We did not receive the report for our neighboring house, only the report for our house was delivered. We have reached out so many times and have had trouble getting a response from this company. It is nearing the end of the year and we have not received an updated invoice or timeline. We would honestly just like our money back, so we can move forward with a more reputable company. We fear that if re reach out to Wolcott with this request, we will receive no response, or immense pushback.
