- Advertising Review:
On May 2, 2025 BBB of Western Pennsylvania requested that the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue its advertised claims on the business’s website and social media pages to comply with the BBB Code of Advertising. Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. Please substantiate how people “get a new roof with no money out of pocket” and “start saving money immediately.”
Challenge #2 Refer to the BBB Code of Advertising Principle #20: Warranties or Guarantees
2a. Our mission at TaylorMade Solutions is to provide quality workmanship, materials, and peace-of-mind warranties with honesty, sincerity, and authenticity.
2b. Is there a guarantee on the shingles? Yes, a lifetime guarantee.
When using the term “warranty” or “guarantee” in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location, viewed on the advertiser’s website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, made available free on written request. BBB was not able to find the above information on https://www.tms4u.net/.
When advertising “lifetime” warranties or guarantees or similar representations, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term “lifetime.” Sellers or manufacturers should advertise that a product or service is warranted or guaranteed only if the seller or manufacturer promptly and fully performs its obligations under the warranty or guarantee.
As of June 6, 2025 the above issues remain outstanding in the BBB’s request for revision, clarification or modification.
