I would like to file a formal complaint against Commonwealth Financial System regarding its misconduct and violation of my rights. They affirm that I have a debt that they are trying to collect, I have requested the validation of this debt and they have not responded. I do not have any agreement or contract signed with the mentioned company. First, they sent communications to my address that appear to be bills from a medical facility, which I believe is a violation of HIPAA rules since I have never authorized them to obtain my medical information. Second, I sent a letter a month ago (April 16th, 2023 - (attached)) requesting validation of the alleged debt, demanding proof that the debt is mine, and they simply have not responded. However, they continue to report this debt to the credit bureaus. I demand the immediate removal of this inaccurate information from my credit report. The accounts number are: #*********** the amount is $1,977 and #************ amount is $1,857Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:As established by law for the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, (FDCPA) the company reporting the alleged debt must provide me with proof that said accounts are really mine. I just realize my FICO score dropped significantly and decided to check my credit report, to find a charge of $1200 in collection and with this company's information. First of all, I have never received a bill for this debt. I called the number and a woman identified my phone number as somebody else's. I tried to get information about the supposed debt but she only wanted me to give her my SSN, address etc. I just gave her my name for her to look at the debt but she said she needed more information and was not willing to help me without it. I researched the original lender and it comes up to a hospital. Funny thing is that it is my employer! From which I have health insurance and I know I don't owe them money! I always take care of my debt and my credit score has been very good, always. I want this company to fix my report.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:These people are lying, if according to them, there is no link between me and the debt, how is it possible that shows on my credit report? The only thing I know is that the debt does not belong to me. And no, I am not providing this company with my personal information, if they reported me to the credit bureaus, they are supposed to have enough information to prove the debt when I dispute it, if they cannot prove it, they have to remove it from the report. My dispute to BBB is just to leave a public record (like many many other people) about this company's practices.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
