On June 13, 2022 I handed **** Menta a check for $6,637.54 to begin work on replacing my roof. At completion, I was to give them another $700 and the insurance company would add an additional $1,729.00. I was told the supplies would be ordered and I would be placed on the schedule. As of today, 9/7/2023, I have not been scheduled and when I call all I get from them is a request for more money in the amount of $5,350. I requested a refund of the money paid but was told that would cost me. The company has not tried to rectify the problem only threaten me with breach of contract and fees for a refund. Menta Construction, Inc., came around knocking door to door offering free roof inspection and help getting the insurance companies to pay for roof replacement. I did not call them, they called on me. Claim #************* I still need my roof replaced and they still have the money I turned over to them.

************* signed a contract with us to work with her insurance co and get her roof replaced.   They wrote for a full replacement, but her policy does not allow for recoverable depreciation which would have been our final payment and therefor she is expected to pay that(she has an actual cash value policy) She is claiming she doesn’t have the money to put out, but this was AFTER we discussed it with her and she told us she would work with the ins co. to figure it out.  We told her we’d work with her to arrange a no interest payment schedule. We have expressed multiple  payment arrangements and she has turned all of them down. We have even reduced our profit just to get it done. We want to complete the job for her but she is refusing to come to a resolution.  Because of her policy she will have to pay approx 1/3 of the total cost of the roof, again, this does not allow us a profit, it will only pay materials and labor, especially since that price was quoted a long time ago and material prices have increased several times.  If we mutually cancel her contract, she will owe us for the work we did do.

I contracted with Menta Construction, Inc. to reroof my house. After missing several commitments/appointments, including an install date, they finally arrived and preformed the work. However, they did not complete the work as agreed upon. Over a month after install (the roof was done Aug 19-20), I received a call about payment. They informed me during that call the Silver Pledge Warranty was not available through their company despite the agreement, both verbally and over text, that I would be receiving a roof with that warranty for $150 more than the cost of materials and labor. I received a call today, 2 weeks after the last contact, from the owner who misrepresented what each warranty covered trying to fool me into thinking I got an equivalent warranty and product. When I did not accept his claims, he began screaming at me, telling me I was unfair to have not paid for the services (for which I have not seen an invoice or bill), that I'm crying over spilled milk, and that he doubts my experience was how I explained it to be. After he had screamed at me for 10 minutes, talking over me any time I tried to say anything, I let him know I would provide the documentation concerning the warranty dispute as soon as I was ableand that I needed to go. He continued to scream, I restated that I had I go and I would provide the documentation, and ended the call. I need help resolving this matter as the warranty the company can actually provide has no disposal coverage nor workmanship (vs the 10 years from the agreed upon warranty, the company provides a 2 year warranty). The owner just called a second time, screamed at me for another 20 minutes or so and threatened legal action. I am selecting "refund" as a resolution because there is not an option to alter the price. I currently have only made a down payment on the roof. The owner is unwilling to consider price negotiation.

I have read the complaint submitted by ***************. Menta construction did not miss several appointments or an install. Those dates were rescheduled (weather). The Silver Pledge warranty is not something we typically offer, and the price is $180, not $150. We offer Standard Plus at $150. No one was trying to "fool" her, we believed she was mistaken, as they sound similar, and again its not typically offered. We did agree to honor the Silver Pledge at our expense. We had already given her many upgrades which she did not pay for. She avers that she was screamed at, this is not the case. She just didn't like what Paul was saying to her and it seemed that she just did not want to release the money that she had received and was obligated to pay as per the contract.  She claims she did not receive a bill, but then complained that the new bill we sent her was higher than the original one she received.   She made numerous libel statements over social media, to which other customers told her that their experience was spot on and that she had to pay her bill before she could get her warranty, which is what we told her too but she didn't want to hear it. She finally paid the bill and her warranty will be submitted once her check clears. We don't know if this complaint was filed before or after the final payment was made. We are hoping this matter has been resolved.
