Newrez literally took it on themselves to stop paying our homeowner’s insurance from escrow *without ever even informing us*, resulting in our homeowner’s insurance being cancelled. They seem wholly unconcerned about their giant mistake. As if this is what we needed to be dealing with right after natural disaster. We’ve paid on time for years and held up our end of the bargain but gotten nothing in return. NOT a company you can trust to handle its business or to correct its mistakes.
(As an aside, they’re also completely unaware that our mortgage, which we’ve had for decades, is for multiple houses/addresses on one lot and they insist there is only one house here, which is simply bizarre. Do these people not even keep track of the properties? It doesn’t bode well! This is their excuse for simply failing to paying for our insurance like they were supposed to. They paid for two years like they were supposed to then just stopped paying for one of the policies. They said we aren’t supposed to have two insurance policies. We have two policies, by law, at the direction of our insurance agent who says we needed one policy for our house and one for the other house because it is a rental unit. Newrez just stopped paying one on one of them (ours, not the rental) without informing us — much less getting our consent. Even if they truly thought we didn’t need two policies, despite that they paid both for two years without issue, shouldn’t they contact to discuss instead of just randomly stop making the payments they agreed to make?)

I have only been with Newrez a few years but I have nothing but good to say about them. I just paid off my mortgage, they reported my loan being satisfied immediately and returned the excess escrow promptly. I never made a late payment so they have never called me and I liked it that way. The only negative I can see is they don't report to the credit bureaus often enough.Newrez LLC

NewRez lies. I just received an advertisement saying they could lower my interest rate and save me $429.87 per month. I called with Reservation number A10229116, they could not find the reservation number and could not find my loan with my name or address. It turns out this offer was a fake offer used to get me to call in; NewRez lies about better rates and offers.Newrez LLC

first WHY? why does this business have an A+ rating. They are horrid. The customer service leaves A LOT to be desired. Currently it has been three months since Caliber sent my loan down to NewRez. Currently I have had an issue with payments processing Three months in a row. My payments are/were set up for automatic withdrawal and thrice been canceled by the company for not being able to process. I'm willing to give them the first one, transfers and number getting askewed and what have you. However, when leaving caliber my Escrow was will into the positive and then at time of transfer it dropped to negative seventy-nine and is now into the hundreds. My payments jumped some three hundred dollars and change. As of today, a January payment was processed and now being claimed to show declined, though the bank as no record of the decline, and thus the most recent payment is being denied to them as they are requesting a double payment.
I am at a loss as to what to do. If there is any way to avoid NewRez you most certainly should.Newrez LLC

1 starThis company is the worst loan company I have ever worked with. RICHARD KENNEDY is a disgrace. I mean this people are just terrible. They literally took all my money from escrow and applied it to a new loan without even asking.

NewRez has been an utter disappointment since they purchased my loan from Caliber back in November `22.
I've dealt with 5 other loan companies over the last 15 years, and each has been able to grasp the concept of partial payments every two weeks without any complication. That's just too confusing for NewRez's system. It assumes that if they don't get a full payment, you must be trying to make principal-only payments, leaving me with no payment being applied to the monthly balance due.
To their credit, their CS agents have been able to "fix" the payments and reverse late fees since they can see that I've made the payments well before the due dates, but this is not some outlandish expectation for a lender to be able to handle.
Before they try to defend themselves with the fact they will allow bi-weekly payments, You can only do that if you call them up and set up a special payment plan. I prefer the control of my actual bank's bill pay system in case I need to make any last-minute adjustments.
Now I have to readjust the way I manage my bank accounts to work around their utterly inept payment processing system. The only reason I'm not refinancing to get away from them is that interest rates are double my current rate...Newrez LLC

I wish you would be able to put ZERO stars because this is the worst company to ever take your mortgage . They paid my homeowners insurance 2 years ago without my approval and I've been fighting with them ever since . My bill is $801 and I pay it online between 3 and 5 days before due and NewRez LoanCare magically
turned it into $1447 then took it out of my house payment and then said I wasn't making my house payment and turned me in to the Credit Bureaus as behind on my payments . NewRez LoanCare said they were afraid I wasn't going to pay it , WELL SHOULDN'T THEY HAVE CALLED ME ? Guess what they told me " we can't make outgoing calls " really , REALLY ?? What the hell kind of business is this . Now I see that they have ESCROW on my 1098 and my balance is more than 6 years ago under Ditech , how is that possible . Guess I need a lawyer .

I've called , I've emailed and I've put notes in with my payment and I sent a check for $801 and you cashed it but still try charging me ESCROW . Ever since the switch from caliber to New Rez they have been very difficult about the switch and their tech support teams have been very subpar constantly getting a run around. Never getting to the point. Transferring me from one rep to another to another to another. Can never get a straight answer on why I can't access my loan or anything else. Let alone make a payment.Newrez LLC

It's been 3 years since my wife and I requested to have our mortgage to be assumed by my niece and her husband. After our initial request back in 2021, we were asked to fill out some forms and applications, and, so we did. We were told that the process would take 2-3 months. We waited for over 4 months and contacted this business and we're told that the file is still being processed. We have reached out to this business several times over the course of 2 years requesting to get a status update and in every attempt their agents would tell us that they would escalate the request and we would hear back from their escalation department within 48hrs but that would NEVER happen.
Our case is still unresolved and this business has been ignoring our requests and giving us the run-around.Newrez LLC

I have made payments using NewRez app and their online website. They keep returning my payments and saying I don't have the money in my bank. Then I get hit with a return fee and late fee. I made payments twice and this happened to me twice. I called my bank who let me know that I have the funds. NewRez steals your money with fake fees and then have the nerve to say there's nothing they can do. Worst company!Newrez LLC
