Sorry I ever went there willing to spend the money to get out. I can never get into my so-called camp ground or even talk to a human. My advice is don't do it!!!!!

Worse company ever! It may not be a complete “scam” but they will definitely screw you every chance they get. If I can save anyone else from making this same mistake and save you 15,000 dollars then I will be happy. Oh and once you agree there is no getting out! Please don’t do it

Travel Resorts of Gettysburg tried to rush us when we were reading the paperwork we were signing. When we asked questions, they would brush them off and say we didn't need to worry about that. I know this should have been a red flag, but I really wanted a place I could take all of my dogs. They said going ahead and signing up for the upgrade would be more beneficial, so we foolishly did that.

As I said, the purpose of me signing up for the membership was so that I could have some place to go on a vacation or getaway and take all 4 of my dogs, which they repeatedly indicated was fine. However, after I was actually able to read the contract, it said you could only have 2 dogs. I signed up for the membership on Friday and submitted my cancellation via certified mail following the guidelines in the contract on Monday (contract allows 5 days). I also sent back the membership card.

They have supposedly cancelled the upgrade, but have not cancelled the original membership or refunded the over $6000 they charged to my credit card. They are trying to indicate that I am not allowed to cancel, but are not providing a reason. Member services just indicates the decision was made above their department.

After searching on how to get this resolved, I have also found several articles about Travel Resorts of Gettysburg/America being the defendant in multiple class action suits regarding charging people without authorization and using pressure tactics to get people to sign up.

I know a lot of these complaints and warnings are found after the fact when you are trying to rectify what the business has already done to you, but hopefully this warning helps someone avoid the headaches I have gone through.

This company has high pressure tactics when they invite you to join and then proceed to change the terms of the membership after the fact. The dates for reservations are not often available and the suggestion is to upgrade membership to improve the window of time to make those reservations. It is always about more money for the organization under the guise of new
      ID cards, new services offered.
We asked if we could cancel the membership having paid off all the loan for the initial purchase but they stated even though we had fulfilled the costs of purchase we had to still pay a few thousand to compensate them for the fees they would potentially lose from the cancellation. If the memberships are so in demand then wouldn't it be fair to state we pay the fees until someone else had taken up the membership? It should not take 7 years (approximately the translation of that much at the per quarter fee rate).
I would not recommend this campground or Travel resorts to anyone. They are unhelpful and dismissive until they want more money and then they are typical sales people wanting to be agreeable. Don't fall for any promises of extra campgrounds coming and open reservation times. The sales people promise things and then the following year you are given forms stating "it was sold incorrectly" and by that time the rights to cancel have past.

Ramsey Lesnett did a wonderful job of answering all our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. We truly appreciate the time he took with us to help us pick what was best for our family!
