I have paid back payments due to Mass RMV through Penn Credit per our City's agreement with them. I originally began paying this as of March 1st and there always seemed to be an issue with payment. I was told to use a checking account as it would be faster but found out that it added 15 days to the process. As of today I have yet been cleared through Penn Credit even though they deducted the money from my account and they have not contacted the *** to let them know I paid it so that my Registration can be cleared. Please assist with this matter! I have no way of commuting at this point.Business Response

To whom it may concern, I am not liable for this debt with City of Tallahassee Utilities. I do not have a contract with Penn Credit Corporation, nor they did they action in providing me with the original contract as requested.Customer Answer
Date: 03/16/2025
Hello, thank you for you response! I am working with a financial advisor to get this sorted. Please note this additional context:
I am filing a complaint regarding a $708 collection reported by Penn Credit Corp on behalf of Utilities of Tallahassee. This debt was sent to collections after I had already moved out of my college apartment in ************
During my time as a student, I was not informed the apartments utilities were under my name. I moved out properly, only to be notified after leaving that I allegedly owed an additional months worth of utilities due to materials being left behind or not meeting a move-out deadline claims I believe are inaccurate and invalid.
Notably, if this claim were legitimate, I should not have received my security deposit back, yet I did, which further contradicts their justification for this charge.
Unfortunately, I initially believed this notification was spam (as did others I consulted) and deleted it, not realizing it was legitimate. By the time I realized the charge was real, it had already been sent to collections.
Since then, I have filed multiple disputes, both with the utility company and the collections agency, with no resolution. I have attempted to explain the situation and request proof of this alleged debt, but I have received no valid documentation or assistance.
This charge has now caused a derogatory **** on my credit report, which is unfair and damaging, given the lack of proper notice, proof, and the fact that I moved out in good standing.
Resolution Sought:
1.Immediate removal of this $708 collection from my credit report.
2.Proof of debt from Utilities of Tallahassee or Penn Credit Corp to justify this charge.
3.Investigation into the validity of this charge, as it was billed after my tenancy ended and contradicts my receipt of the security deposit.Thank you so much for your help.

I contacted Penn Credit due to a collection that came up in my credit report, I spoke with a worker who then transferred me to the supervisor ****. **** was extremely unprofessional and unwilling to help and explain various questions and concerns I had due to the collection Penn Credit had placed in my credit. After requesting more information on the deletion of the collection on my account he refused to listen fully to my concerns, continued on to interrupt me while speaking in a very unprofessional tone and even hung up on me after seeking further explanation and clarification. Penn Credit was unhelpful, disrespectful, and unwilling to work with me due to my concerns of their collection on my credit report. They never contacted me or made an attempt to contact me prior to placing a collection on my credit, failed to show proof of the original contract, and did not verify the validity of my personal information.Business Response

The toll booth did not bill my toll transponder and I did not know this until I received a collections letter. The toll was for $6.77 however Penn Credit tacked on an additional $76.50 in exorbitant fees. I begrudgingly paid the entire bill which totaled $83.27. Now they are attempting to collect another $83.27 from me even though I have not been through another PA tollbooth. At best this is an accidental duplicate bill and at worse it is flagrant fraud. I want the $76.50 refunded and the duplicate toll and associated fees removed from my account without payment. I will not pay the toll and insane fees twice.Business Response
