I received a call from renu yesterday. they made an appointment to send someone to my house on 9 April 2025 to ***** the damage and make a plan to solve the problems. We will see what happens when they come next Wednesday.

They did perform a site inspection on April ******. They said they would contact us to schedule the repairs that will need to be done. It is now 1 May 2025 and we have heard nothing from them about when the work will be done, We are well past 2 weeks and the wit continues....
They performed a site inspection last summer when we first reported this problem. They said they would call to schedule us in the next 2 weeks then as well. We are losing faith in these promises. Every rain makes it worse. When will they follow through?

I am rejecting this response because: While the warranty was initially voided, we were never given an explanation as to why. Miraculously, as soon as this BBB claim was submitted, the warranty was approved. April 15th the install was completed, finally, only to inform us that an inverter needs to be replaced. This time, the warranty was approved on site. I was told the new inverter would be shipped between 5-7 business days. 3 weeks later, we are still waiting for the item to be shipped. Very dissatisfied with the customer service! Attached is the email communication from April 16th - the day after the battery installation.

is now February ************************************************************ the last year, we have lost power several times and we were without power. As per the Solar Edge website as stated above, we should be guaranteed a 12-year warranty. The failure occurred 9 months after activation. Since January 2024, there have been several correspondences with representatives from ReNu with absolutely no follow through or steps to correct this major issue. (All of these correspondences have been recorded and kept in a 12 page document to use if/when legal action needs to take place) On February 4, 2025 a phone call was made to ReNu where I had the privilege of speaking with yet another representative, again with no response from the company almost 2 weeks ******** stated above, I have an entire 12 page document filled with a timeline of facts to prove the neglect, careless, and faulty service we have been provided from ReNu Solar and Roofing, as well as Solar Edge.Business Response

After a good amount of back and forth and escalation with the manufacturer we successfully obtained a new battery under warranty for the customer. We have since installed the new battery and the system is working as normal.

Upon a thorough investigation of this matter, it is clear that we were forced to unfortunately void the warranty on the component in question, however while working with ReNu , we were able to reconsider our initial decision, and we have agreed to provide a free warranty replacement for this case. We have already communicated this with ReNu, so we would kindly recommend continue working with them to schedule the installation of the new home battery.

The warranty was initially voided by the manufacturer. The battery used was one of the 1st generation batteries. These were very new at the time, and we have experienced a high failure rate with the *** 1 batteries. We have had to plead our case to have the battery approved for replacement. In fact during the initial installation a representative from the manufacturer was on site to the product was installed correctly. Submitting the BBB Claim did not affect the approval as we were already pushing for resolution. In regards to the inverter, if the inverter was approved for RMA it means we obtained approval for a new part under warranty for the customer. When we receive the new inverter from the manufacturer we will schedule the installation.

In June 2024, I stopped at the ReNu Solar booth during Jubilee Day in *************, **. I made an appointment to have a sales *** come to my home to discuss solar panels and was given a $500 gift card towards the purchase price. ******** ****** was the sales *** who came to my home. She offered an 18-month interest-free option only available if I signed the contact that day. She said that the $500 gift card would be subtracted from the purchase price. I agreed, and signed the contact that day. Eventually I heard from DIVIDEND (the finance company) and was told that there was no interest-free option, I then called ReNu and spoke to my project manager. He told me that ******** had previously made promises to other customers that were untrue, and that she was no longer an employee. I was referred to the owner of the company, **** ****. I spoke to Mr. **** several times and he said that ReNu would make right on this interest-free guarantee estimating it to be approximately $4,000. However, he refused to honor the $500. Mr. **** said that he would contact DIVIDEND once the project was completed to determine the exact amount. After the solar panels were installed and I had permission to operate, I called Mr. **** to see if he had contacted DIVIDEND. He had not. Now he estimated that the amount I was owed was between $3,000-$4,000 and offered me a refund of $3,500. I trusted this to be accurate and agreed. However, the next day I called DIVIDEND and learned that the actual amount for an 18-month interest-free loan was $6,060.88. I called Mr. **** back and informed him of this. He said to send him an email with that information. That was the last time that he has communicated with me. He has also ignored all my attempts to communicate including a letter sent from my lawyer. I am asking that the Better Business Bureau help me resolve this issue. I want the remainder of the 18-month interest-free loan amount ($2,560.88), the $500 gift card honored, and $250 for legal fees.Business Response

After reviewing the customers contract and speaking with them we mutually agreed to a refund of $3,500. We explained to the customer the $500 gift card cannot be combined with any other offers and that the refund was the better route. We issued the rebate according to our agreement. In order to provide a consistent experience across our customer base we cannot stack promotions as was explained to the customer.

I was presented with a Solar Energy Plan on 12/21/2023 that was to save me money on my utilities / Electric. It was presented by a Miss **** *** from Renu. Her phone is ************. If you can get someone to answer after your install is complete. I bought in to the proposal and they installed me a new roof at a cost of $29,000.00. Also installed the solar panels which is $187.00 more per month. To date 01/22/2025 I have seen no benefit to my utility bill from West Penn power. I would like to resolve this issue and understand what is going on. But it is impossible to get a real person from Renu to even answer a phone !!!! I am reaching out for some help I am getting no where with Renu and I am paying triple for my services now. Can you help me?Business Response

We have reviewed the customers project. The customers project received permission to operate for all required third parties on 06/20/2024. The system is operating normally with no errors. The customer opted for a lease and the system comes with a production guarantee from the Lease Provider. The system looks to be meeting its production estimates. The customer should be good to go.

Payment for a promise credit after installation of $4000 that was later verbally changed to not pay out. Contract did not specify the full details, the sales person mis***resented and misinformed me purposely. Online *** stated they were aware and local sales person stated I would get a refund and later management contacted me and retracted what was promised. I have more proof and if not resolved I will take legal action and letter of intent has been sent to the business and no ***ly the next step for me will be filing to court with my lawyer. I added a few screenshots but I have further proof that I will not share in case it goes to court but this should be enough to proof of your company being aware and making the decision not to payBusiness Response

We have reviewed this complaint again. Our promotions are separate but contingent upon the original agreement. The original agreement was changed by a signed change order reducing the overall cost with no change to the scope of work. We cannot stack promotions on agreements reducing the cost of our services. It appears the promotional amount may have been applied to reduce the contract amount. The overall reduction of the contract price exceeded the promotional amount.Initial Complaint

Renu Solar visited my home in January, 2024. The salesman was too new to the company, and when I had expressed my reservations then, he had said "well if you are thinking about canceling, might as well not even sign the forms." We were told we had 3 business days to cancel, so when we had called the number on the 5th day to cancel, as we didn't realize the third day had passed, and the company continued to try to make promises different than what we heard before. We got transferred to several different units in the business, regarding canceling, and never got a call back. There are a lot of instances where we had issues.- My main concerns have to do with lack of communication by the business, and failing to respond appropriately to my request to cancel the service multiple times. As **** can tell you, I have reached out multiple times to cancel the service, and each time, I have been approached by a new person, bullying me into staying. Most recently, **** mentioned that I don't have any legal standing to cancel the request. As a result of the company bullying me into staying, and providing misinformation at every turn, I now have a loan for a project that should have been canceled many months ago. As far as lack of communication, I have had instances when someone is reaching out to me, like at the first inspection state, and one person said someone needed to come out, and another person told me they had all the information they needed. To be clear, no one was at my house to do whatever they needed, that I know of. Above **** is **** ******, whom I've already spoken to once before and instead of listening to me say I want to cancel, said otherwise that I needed to stay or else there would be a large charge. No other information was provided about this "or else," leaving me to believe there was no other option. I want the solar panels removed because everyone in that company that I have talked to is giving me several different answers to the same questions.Business Response

I receive 15 to 20 spam calls a day for solar energy. When I speak with caller and indicate as if Im interested they always put me through to Renu Solar . Same when I get through to renu by way of spam caller . Ive asked many times to not be called Im on fed and Pa do not call and the companies they use to solicit business by spam calls refuse to stop . If you look at their website for contact they are aware they are violating laws as they ask you to waive federal do not call status . These people need to be stopped please !Business Response

08/12/24 I wrote a complaint about home renu solar panels. I have had the system since 01/01/2019 . I wrote first complaint in ******************************************************** January of 2019 . I had to pay for panels at ****** monthly and electric bill average ****** monthly. I had electricity bill for ****** a month but now I am paying ****** monthly so my cost is doubled now . I call them and always get the run around with like send me your energy bills and they will look into it. That doesnt work when your no paying double for electricity. They will come to your house and sell you on the idea of not paying anything for electricity and you will also have extra electricity too sell back to electric company. I have had system for 5 years now and I have paid ****** for panels that cost ****** and I havent saved anything . I will give you examples the solar system saved us ***** dollars off bill this month but I pay ****** for panels for the next 15 years. The panels cost ****** and they give you a 20 year term to pay that off. I have had system for 5 years and its never worked properly and it hasnt saved me anything. If youre considering solar panels dont go too home renu because you will regret it like I do.Business Response
