    Avoid Renu Solar & Roofing.If youre considering solar, I would look elsewhere before signing up with Renu Solar.Poor communication. I signed up for solar to make my life easier and more affordable...and for over 3 months I have been fighting with this company to "make me whole again". The team left my storm door broken and due to rain it has flooded my once dry basement . I will say Renu Solar was responsive while selling the system, but that quickly stopped once they had my signature and loan documents signed.I would concur with other reviews that Renu Solar overpromises and underdelivers. Between the poor customer service, unmet expectations, and unexpected costs, this has been a frustrating and expensive experience. Please dont make the same mistake I did.

    ***********: ************ has done a terrible job with my solar install and with their customer service. I was told that I would save money on my electric bill and that my payments wouldn't start until after the system was up and running. They scheduled me for installation but delayed multiple times and I making payments for four months before they got the system going and I was able to see any savings on my electric bill. They promised me that their cellular communication device would allow them to monitor the system to notify them if problems arose and that the warranty would guarantee any issues should they arise. Well, after less than a year, my panels (36 of 38 panels) had some sort of malfunction. Of course, I noticed my electric bills were higher again and let them know. After 6 months without a functioning system, they finally sent someone to check it out. The technician told me that they definitely should have gotten an automated notification that there was a problem and had someone come check it out (especially since it was such a BIG problem). When I called the customer service about why that hadn't happened 6 months ago, they responded that they do not ACTIVELY monitor the systems but that I needed to alert them when I received an alert (I was not even aware that I could be alerted myself) and they could then check on the issue remotely. So, now I have a system that isn't functional at all, so Renu ordered 36 new microinverters telling me that I am lucky that the manufacturer was willing to stand behind their product and send out new ones for free. However, I will be needing to pay for the cost of the labor to install them. That will end up costing another $2000 on top of the $48,000+ I paid for the system, the loss of the 8 total months that I was charged for a system that I did not have a functioning system. The scheduler told me that I should be grateful that the manufacturer stood behind their product - otherwise, I would be out another $3600!

    I got my solar system up and running in the Spring of 2024, and I am happy with the results. One of the highlights has been the convenience of the mobile app, which lets me easily track my solar energy generation and consumption. Its intuitive and gives me a clear picture of my energy use in real time, and Im thrilled to see the savings. Most months, my energy bill is under $15the fixed amount my energy company charges for grid connectionthanks to the solar system. RENUs technical support team has also been a great help, promptly answering my questions and ensuring everything functions smoothly. This level of support has given me a lot of confidence in my investment.The quality of the panels and inverters speaks for itself, and I am impressed by the efficiency of the system, it has met my expectations. Although the installation and inspection process took a bit longer than I anticipated, RENUs crew was thorough and very professional, both during the initial roof inspection and installation. The actual installation was quick and seamless, thanks to the expertise of the crew, who completed the work with minimal disruption. I have had no issues with the roof or anything else involving the hardware. I had a small software issues that was promptly resolved, and my system has run uninterrupted since installation. Overall, I am very satisfied with both the product quality and the attentive service from RENU, and Im grateful for the substantial savings on my energy bill!

    I had an amazing experience with Renu solar company everyone that I worked with was super friendly and nice. The crew did an amazing job it didnt take them too long everything was installed very professionally. They also helped answer all the questions in detail explained how everything worked since this was my first time getting solar for my house. Theres a significant decrease in our electric bill. Im very happy with my decision to go solar.

    It has been a year since our system went operational. We did have some issues that maybe could have been handled a little better, but overall everything was resolved and we have been very happy with the performance of the system. Renu handled permits, design and installation. They also assisted me in understanding monitoring, rebates as well as SRECTrade. With our production we have been receiving about $35.00 per month from ********* sales. Our monthly electric bill has been around $30.00 and as low as $15.00.Its a big commitment and a lot to learn and understand. I feel it was an excellent choice for us to have Renu Solar & Roofing install our system. Sales *** was excellent, design and engineering was great. Owner was very helpful and responsive. It does take time from beginning to when you are on-line. There is a lot involved and we are in an area where winter can make it impossible to install. It was about one year from initial commitment.

    Horrible company, the salesperson completely mislead us. We are financially screwed for years! The loan company is not at all helpful, they just want their money. They also raise the monthly payment every year. We are paying wwwaaayyy more than our electric bill would have been. DON"T DO IT, DON"T SIGN ANYTHING!Read the FINE PRINT !!!!!!!

    Sales rep was top notch. Very knowledgeable and professional. One of the first lines of the contract was an estimated project time of 3-6 months. ********************** was great. However, the system failed the first inspection and a few small things needed fixed.Contract was signed 06/05/2023, panels installed on 09/26/2023, loan payments started 11/26/2023, panels were activated on 04/12/2024. 10+ months from start to finish. In that time, I made 5 loan payments on panels I did not get credit for along with 5 electric bills. This was a substantial out of pocket expense that was never discussed with me nor was I prepared for. Everything presented to me was, "3-6 months." After 6 months and the project not being near completion, I started to feel the need to ask questions and push for answers. The whole process just felt like things would get done when they would get done. NOT a good feeling as a customer. What was laid out by the sales person was not what happened, at all.The good:- Sales person was willing to listen when venting frustrations (wasn't her job at this point).- After everything, the owner reached out and asked what they could improve on - The contract stated if the project was delayed at the fault of ReNu, they were obligated to reimburse the value of 2 loan payments - Everything is now functioning as it should The bad:- See the initial paragraph - I didn't expect such a large out of pocket expense with this (thousands of dollars)- Poor communication at times - Company set expectations and fell short. After my initial review, owner asked me to remove it stating, "We made things right months ago." I work in customer service, if we fail to meet expectations we set, we consider making things right by offering something for the inconvenience. If you take care of your customers, bad reviews are rare.- If something breaks, will this be the same drawn out experience?- Internal communication seemed to fall apart after installation.

    I referred my sister who signed a contract in January 2023 and had the panels installed over the summer. I was told I would receive $1000 referral bonus. That money was never received. I have tried contacting them and left multiple messages and nothing. It seems I am being ignored. Beware of this supposed promise from the company.

    Great company. Very easy to work with. They answered all our questions. Install was a breeze. I was surprised how quickly it went. I would definitely recommend them.
