I canceled my membership on 1/3/23. In speaking with the Customer Service rep on the phone he told me that the day the email is sent is considered day 1 in meeting their policy of needing 30 days written notice. The email was sent 1/3/23. 30 days from the 3rd of January is February 1. I would have called prior but when I did they were closed on Janaury 1st and 2nd for the holiday. Their Out of Office message does not have a recording of how to cancel a membership should you need to. I had no choice but to wait until the next day when they were open to cancel the membership. Once I was able to get with their department they provided me the deatils I needed and confirmed I would not be charged since the 30th day would be in time before the next charge. The following month I was charged and have been trying to speak with someone at their company about it. I tried to have a manager call me back and never got a call back. I had to call back 3 times within 1.5 weeks to get someone at a manager level to call me. In speaking with Operations Manager he had no professional customer service skills and was extreamly rude. he wouldn't listen to how this went or listen to the recording I was on when I first called on 1/3/23. They will admit the 30 days written notice was satisfied on 2/1 fulfilling the contract and obligation but are still charging me for it. I took this up with my credit card company since it is a false charge based on their policy and disputed it. Because I disputed the charge they are considering it a non payment and are charging me an additional $20.Even though they had my payment for 8 days prior to that. Each time I called the company they agree 30 days is 2/1 but won't honor the policy to cancel my membership and are charging me a whole additional month of fees. When calling back they informed me they will charge me again until I undo the disbute and pay, which is extortion.Overall this company is not great and has been a huge problem to speak with someoneBusiness Response

Member Solutions is the billing company hired by **************************** to administer billing agreement terms which allows customers to pay for services over time. This is including but not limited to handling all cancellations.
Member Solutions first started billing ******************* in May of 2017 then again in 2019 and again in March 2022 to present. The terms of the last membership stated that she must provide a 30 day notice to cancel and any payments due during that 30 day period would be due.
Please note that Member Solutions has stopped all future processing of the membership account. All future renewals have been disabled and we will no longer attempt to bill the payment method on file. All communications have been ceased and we will no longer be actively servicing the membership account for ****************************. The membership for **** ******* is cancelled with nothing further due.

I am rejecting this response because that was not what was communicated by the company. At Member solutions "We believed that if we built a billing system that PUT PEOPLE FIRST, the opportunity for martial artists and fitness professionals to pursue their true passion of teaching and changing lives while attaining financial success would follow." they also beleive "From the very first conversation with your members, to the moment your members achieve their biggest goals, we want our solutions to help make every member experience the best it can be."For this being their motto and what they proide themselves on they are not follow it. The experience I have had did not put people first nor make my member experience the best it can be.
Here are the reasons this is another misrepresentation:
- They were closed on 1/1 & 1/2 - not allowing me to cancel any earlier than 1/3
- There is nothing on their website, or out of office voice message that allows you to cancel appropriatly without speaking to a member
- There would be no way for me to get the information I needed without speaking to a member of their team
- In calling on 1/3 the representative on the phone told me I would NOT be billed for the following month. That I got to it in time that I won't be effected. (It is all recorded. They will not share the recording with me).
- They stated that 1/3 would count as day 1 as long as I got my written notice in (Which I did)
- I understand the 30 days written notice, and I met that criteria. They billed me on my 30th day of meeting my contract. If you needed more than 30 days their contract should say that.
- I shouldn't be penalized for their company closures and not being able to get the information needed to close out my contract in a more effcient way. If informaiton was provided on how to do this prior to 1/3. When I called on 1/1 I would have been able to send the information and be done. Giving them 32 days written notice.
- I am not asking for something to be resolved that is 29 days. I hit my 30 days notice and they are still billing me.
- They are not putting people or members first as their motto says. They are putting themselves first and I am paying for it.

Hi, the reason why I'm contacting you is because this company member solution is a fraud company. I emailed them and called them multiple times to cancel the membership, because my kids were not using the service and they never cancel the membership. Now they are saying that they emailed me to confirm that I wanted to cancel and that because I never respond they never cancel it. This is unacceptable they want to charge December 2022, and January of 2023, when my kids haven't been to the judo class since September. I will not pay this people because I contact them multiple times to cancel the membership and it is not my fault, they did not cancel it. I will not refer any people to this company they are the worst, and they always give you the run around every time you call. They charge for services you never receive. ***************** began billing for ******* and ************* membership through Member Solutions January of 2022 as *****************. submitted the membership details for processing/billing. On September 6th *************** emailed Member Solutions to take her daughter, *******, off the membership and leave ***** on. Member Solutions cannot alter the terms of the agreement entered into thus *************** was referred back to *****************. Member Solutions reached out to **. and ************** to get confirmation if only one or both of their children canceld, but did not hear back from either of them until December 21st, 2022. Per the agreement, Member Solutions informed **. and *************** of the 30 day notice and that the final payment would be on January 6th 2023.Member Solutions has ceased all future processing of this membership account. This includes ceasing all communications and future billing attempts toward **. and ***. *********** have been disabled effective immediately.

If I conctated them to cancell the membership why do I need to respond back to them saying yes cancell it, it doesn't not make any sense. I emailed them to cancell both kids and they did not do that, so the billing cycle continued and they want to charge for services I never got. I will not pay any more fees.

Member Solutions is the billing company hired by *** ****, LLC to administer billing agreement terms which allows customers to pay for services over time. This is including, but not limited to managing all membership cancellations outlined on the membership agreement.
*************************** began billing through Member Solutions July of 2020 for a membership with *** ****, LLC. When ******************* called Member Solutions on November 11th, 2022 to notify Member Solutions that she had not attended the facility in months and had canceled directly at the *** Club, and requested a refund for the months not attended, Member Solutions informed ****** that she would need to submit a 30 day written cancellation notice to Member Solutions to cancel the membership and that no refund would be issued.At this time, Member Solutions has not received ******* 30 day written cancellation request. We have proceeded to process ******* 30-day cancellation notice from the date of her call. The membership will be canceled with December 10th, 2022, as the final payment due date and once the outstanding balance and the December 10th payment is received, the membership account will be closed and canceled.

Hello,
As stated previously, Member Solutions is the billing company for *** ****, LLC. At the time of the initial registration in June of 2020, a welcome email was sent to the email address on file and then again prior to the renewal date to notify ******************* that the account was going to auto renew. This provides the time for members to cancel their membership prior to the renewal taking place. These communications have Member Solutions customer service phone number and an email address for electronic communication, should that be preferred. To make it easy for members to know who is billing them, Member Solutions includes the name of the facility and Member Solutions phone number on their respective financial institution's statement as well. In response to ***. **************;claim that she did not sign up with Member Solutions, it is clearly stated on the agreement that defines the role that Member Solutions plays in this relationship.

Member Solutions is contracted to handle payments for the Martial Arts gym of which I am a member. Per the contract I signed, I am entitled to freeze monthly payments for up to one month for whatever reason. I was recently seriously injured on 9/24/22, having already been charged for October, I contacted my gym in early October, notifying them of the injury and requesting a freeze for November. My gym approved the freeze and told me to contact Member Solutions. Over repeated correspondance Member Solutions stated that they do not pause payments or process freezes without any other explanation. They told me my only options were early cancellation or permanent disability termination which required I provide them with my medical information. Both of these options incurred substantial termination fees. I have requested that this company uphold the terms of the only contract I have signed and have presented them with copies of said contract. However Member Solutions acts as if I am holden to separate terms of their own which I never even seen. A quick search of this company pulls dozens of similar complaints as well as auto-renewals, cancelation denials and taking clients to collections. *************************************** began billing for the account *******-* through Member Solutions in August of 2022 for the membership with **************-*****. I, myself, spoke with ************************ on October 17th, when he called in and requested to pause his membership as well as on October 20th and October 21st.During that conversations ************************ was informed that Member Solutions cannot pause his membership for any length of time. In addition to the calls, ************************ sent emails as well and at one point he sated that he was permanently disabled due to his injury at which time ************************ was emailed the form that would need to be completed by him and his physician, but it was not returned. The 2nd page of the registration form for ***** ***-***** you can clearly see the directions on how to request a freeze/pause on his membership. I have attached a snapshot of the Freeze/Hold Policy as well.

The response from the Member Solutions representative is inaccurate. I did not state I was permanantly disabled. After ***** ******** Management first instructed me to reach out directly to Member Solutions to freeze my account, I considered filing a permanent disability termination as I was only presented with two options from Memeber Solutions. The company states they do not pause any payments. In order to interrupt service clients can either file an early contract termination or termination due to permanent disability. Both these routes are expensive. After speaking with ***** *** ***** a second time, Management was frustrated that Member Solutions refused to uphold the contract and urged me that I had the right per the contract to freeze my account for one month. This option is in the contract to prevent financial burden on clients due to any situation that might occur.Member Solutions makes conflicting statements. On one hand they state they do not process pauses of any kind; on the other, they point to the instructions to process a freeze on the contract I uploaded. Management at ***** ******** has stated that due to nature of their work they do not check their emails often and that my verbal communication with them is sufficient enough. While Member Solutions has stated their policies and interpreted my contract, they have not communicated with their main client, ***** ******** on the matter.I simply want what my gym and my contract assured me I would get: one month payment freeze due to injury.Business Response

I am a single father of two children (ages 11 and 13)whos wife past away suddenly. I was looking for a family oriented environment to attempt to see how my children(who are legally disabled)handle organized physical activity(boxing). In signing my kids up for ******************* ** I was told that I could cancel the contract under extenuating circumstances. Ultimately, the situation was two overwhelming for my children and myself. I called ************** May 13,2022 and started to explain to him that my wife passed, I was also forced to move a week prior to a different county and my children could not handle boxing. He immediately said text him theyre names and my previous address and he would cancel the contract. I took his word for it and did that. A few months later I get an email from member solutions saying I owe them around $700. I communicated to them exactly what I told **** and to contact **** and he would confirm the contract was canceled. They were extremely rude and said my deceasedwifes name is not on the contract! They then asked to verify my relocation which was also denied. Member Solutions was extremely rude as I had to go back and forth with them and they sent me an ultimatum to pay 780 by 8/22/22 and at this time ******************* would not answer my calls, texts or voicemails! This whole process was a ruse between **** and Member solutions in order to stall and build up more of an unjust bill. I had to go down to the Social Security office and request official documents stating my children's disabilities of which on 8/22/22 I emailed to Member Solutions then drove and Physically handed copies **************** WIFE who treated me like I was fabricating my situation! I have receipts and SS disability is enforced by the law! I then called Member Solutions a few days later and I was told by ******* that my account was sent to *** *********** for $1,500! They can reject having common decency but they cannot reject the law. The way I was treated was absolutely deplorable.Business Response

On July 20 2022 i contacted Member Solutions in order to cancel my gym membership. I was provided an email and told i needed to provide 30 days written notice via email including my name, and account number. i immediately wrote the email and submitted to the address i was provided. Later that afternoon i received a notice that the email couldn't go through but it would attempt again to resubmit the following day. The following day i received another email saying it did not go through. On the July 25th i contacted Member Solutions again to inform them of the issues sending the email. I spent over twenty minutes on the phone with them while i tried sending emails, and they tried sending me emails. They tried to two different email addresses and were unable to get an email through. Finally they requested for me to wait to see if they came through later. They never did. I went to call them again to notify them of the issue, when i noticed the name of the company was different than the name in the email i was provided. i "FORWARDED" the original email to the altered address and finally it went through on August 4 2022. i then called them again to let them know of the solution and express my concern over being charged again since it took two weeks to get the resignation notice submitted. I was told my account would be reviewed. I later received notice saying i would be charged again for September and then no more. Im contesting the final charge. I was provided the wrong email, then spent twenty minutes rechecking my emails while they were unable to get an email sent to me which i could reply to. I was told i had to wait to see if they eventually came through. I was not offered a means to fax, or send certified mail or any means other than a non working email. I spent twenty minutes to be told wait and see which eventually pushed me over to the new month. I do see that **************** had called Member Solutions on July 20th, 2022 and made the request to cancel the membership with ******* ***. However, there was no written correspondence received requesting cancellation. Upon reviewing the notes, I do see that **************** forwarded the original written correspondence witch was sent to an incorrect email address. Given that **************** provided the proof that he did send his initial intent to cancel on or about July 20th, 2022, I have honored the initial request and cancelled the membership with August 1st, 2022 as the final payment to satisfy the 30 day notice requirement.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused to ***************** As this time, Member Solutions has ceased all communications to the member and the this membership at ******* *** *** is now closed with nothing further due.

In December I signed my 5 year old son up for Karate lessons with ******** ****. The cost was going to be about $100 a month, with the first payment being $90 on 12/30/2021. Ongoing charges were exactly $105.48 a month weith fees and such. I filled out the form for Member Solutions who is the 3rd party billing service that the dojo uses. My son like many young children is very fickle and sometimes he would enjoy the lessons, and sometimes he'd fight us on it. We called Member Solutions to pause the lessons for 2 months for March and April because we were going on a 2 week vacation and wanted to give him a break from lessons since he was fighting us so often so we weren't charged for March or April lessons.
At the end of April we were charged $105.48 for May's lessons and we started sending our son to lessons again. My son had a very emotional episode in front of the dojo in one of the May lessons and was screaming and crying, so we decided to cancel because this was very stressful on my wife. My wife called Member Solutions and I don't know the full details but they claimed that the contract in the paperwork we signed was a 12 month contract and that in order to cancel we would have to pay for 3 months worth of lessons as a cancellation fee. At no point were we ever informed of this. I wouldn't be shocked if it's in the fine print of the paper that we filled out our payment info but that's really shady.
On 05/30/2022 we were charged $105.48 again and Member Solutions refused to refund this when my wife called again despite the fact that at that point my son had stopped attending lessons and we weren't going to take him back. I disputed the charge with my credit card company who refunded the charge. Now we are called all the time with them trying to collect. I will never pay another penny to Member Solutions.

******* ******** began billing through Member Solutions In January of 2022 for a
membership with ******** **** ***. for ******. When **** ******** ******** called Member Solutions
on February 25th of 2022 to ask that Member Solutions pause the membership for two months to give ****** a break, we gladly did so. The next contact was on May 12th 2022 with ******** who requested to cancel the membership for ******. The representative went over the terms of the membership with ******** and offered the 3 month buyout option as this is a courtesy provided by ******** **** ***, if a membership needs to end prior to the end date the initial term. ******** said that she would speak to *** ******** and get back to Member Solutions with their decision. Then on May 16th 2022 ******** called and stated that they were moving, which is another reason that a cancellation could be processed without penalty as long as the relocation verification form was completed and sent back with two documents that show the move. The representative emailed the form to ***************.com, but on 5/31/2022 ******** called and stated that she did not get the form, so the representative re sent and stayed on the line to confirm that she received it and ******** acknowledged receipt of the form. That was the last interaction that took place between Member Solutions and **. and **** ********. We did receive the chargeback on 06/27/2022 and have responded to **** with the copy of the agreement.As this time, Member Solutions will cease all communications to the member as requested, but the account is active and ******** **** *** does work with a collection agency, so this membership may be referred to a collection agency for no payment.
I have attached a copy of the relocation verification form that was sent as well as a copy of the signed agreement.

I am rejecting this response because:The agreement is garbage. You can't sneak in a 12 month contract and not have the business who contracts with you verbally explain that. It's not ethical and it's an insult to families struggling in the current economic environment. You're asking for the same amount of money that I've already paid to receive nothing in return. The **** is not hurt by losing my membership, every month that my son attended lessons was paid for. My wife was pressured into stating we were moving because she was presented the moving option and didn't see a way out of paying over $300.
