    Advantage inspected a pick up truck that we purchased July 27, 2022. When we went to get it re-inspected, the garage told us the truck never should have passed when Advantage passed it. Our garage does not think it is a roadworthy vehicle. This puts us in a bind as we purchased the pick up truck for $10,000 and currently owe $8300. Advantage also said that if we put a part on it, the check engine light would go out. We put that specific part on it and the check engine light still will not go out. Now we have a truck that will not pass inspection, the check engine light will not go out according to Advantage’s directions, and we owe $8300 on it. Advantage was not honest with this purchase. They never told us that it would not pass inspection ever again or that they passed the inspection themselves under false pretenses.

    Customer was contacted today after review this complaint and she is to bring the truck into our shop for us to look at on 5/10/2023. This was never brought to our attention. However, Advantage has been in business for almost 20 years. No vehicle here ever passes inspection unless if it is properly passed. The amount owed on the truck has nothing to do with us. Why is the vehicle not passing inspection?  A used vehicle does not mean it passes nor fails inspection the rest of its life. All inspections are yearly. This transaction happened approx. 9 months ago. In addition, All vehicles are sold as is. We have no idea what happens when a vehicle leaves our lot. Miles driven, did the truck sit outside, etc? There are so many variables. There is not enough info for us to properly answer. However, when we see the truck tomorrow, we will know more. Thank you
