I contacted this business in late August because our electric heat pump was 20 years old and getting to a point where it was beyond repair. The only reason I contacted them was because I had a home warranty policy and they insisted I use one of their vendors. I made an appointment and the person never showed up. I called back again and they apologized and sent out *****. He seemed to be a very nice person and I believed he was dealing in good faith. After he looked at our system, he agreed it needed replaced and said he would contact our home warranty company. He went out to his truck to do so and came back in and said they were only willing to give $1000 toward the new system. Shame on me, I believed him. We moved forward with purchasing a new system from *****. We were told by PNP (signed contract) that we had a 10 year warranty. A month later, I received a call from the home warranty company asking me if I wanted to renew my policy with them and I said no because it didn't seem to benefit me when I needed a new system. When I told them that, they said that no one from PNP ever contacted them and they never authorized a $1000 payment toward a new system. Basically, PNP lied and never contacted my home warranty company. Now, only 4 months later, the system they installed is broken and I'm having the motor replaced. When the repairman contacted Carrier about my warranty, we were told we only had a 5 year warranty because PNP never sent my information to them. I asked PNP repeatedly for the warranty information and they insisted they took care of it. Now, I'm trying to reach them and they won't return my call. I would never have done business with them had I known this is the way they conduct themselves. Shameful.

Two PNP employees blatantly lied to me about the status of my furnace to pressure me into replacing it, citing a safety hazard. They also failed to be transparent regarding their prices in order to upcharge me. I have heating and air systems coverage under a home warranty with American Home Services, and PNP was the contractor assigned to my claim. Their technician, ******, told me that my heat exchanger was cracked, and that the unit was leaking dangerous carbon monoxide throughout the house. He also told me that the unit had to be replaced, as there was no option for repair. PNP's sales manager, *****, inspected the unit as well, and shortly thereafter quoted $1500 for repair costs not covered under warranty, the “incidentals”. They refused to provide an itemized list justifying these costs, but AHS informed us that $900 of that price was for ductwork. As the unit was not being being moved, and no major modification taking place, I could not reconcile this cost. We called the office manager, who also refused to provide itemization justifying the cost. I consulted a separate professional, who upon inspection informed me that the heat exchanger was not cracked, that no carbon monoxide leak was taking place, and that no competent professional could possibly make such a mistake. Upon searching “furnace heat exchanger cracked scam", I discovered that this was a common scam tactic. With only some light cleaning, the furnace is working properly again without issue. Carbon monoxide filters indicate no risk whatsoever. I had to leave the house for several days while this situation took place, due to the freezing temperatures overnight. I had to transport my pets and risk my pipes freezing. This caused significant and unnecessary stress. This business is dishonest and unethical, and clearly has no issue putting other people in harm’s way to cheat them out of a few dollars. Do not conduct business with them under any circumstances.
