On 9/21/23 I had Bear Service come to my home to fix my refrigerator. They told me I needed an evaporator cover and they would have to order it. They said it might take 1 to 3 days to get it. I had to pay $109.00 for service visit but it would come off the bill later. On 9/25/23 I called them to see if they could get the part and they said I had to give them $201.79 so they could order the part, so I sent them money. On 10/02/23 I tried to call them to see if they ordered or got the part. I had to leave them a message and I told them to get back to me but they didn't. I finally got to them by bypassing their phone prompts. They said the part was not available till maybe 10/30. I got off the phone and started calling around to see if anyone had the part and I found a supplier who had it and it was in stock. The next day I called them back (again bypassing the phone prompts) and told them I found the part and gave them the phone number to call so they could order it. I told him to call me back and let me know he ordered the part. Needless to say he never called me back. Wont answer the phone or text me back. I think I waited long enough. I would like to get all my money back so I can find someone else

In November 2022 a Bear technician made a service call to my residence. He diagnosed that my ********** washing machine needed a new circuit board. A replacement would be ordered if I provided a deposit of $256.27. The replacement part was not delivered after several months. A called was placed to Bear's office and my wife was assured there would be a refund. No check was forthcoming. It is now August 2023 and after three additional requests for the refund, nothing has happened, and no phone calls have been returned. Another individual indicated a similar situation happed to her, and she knows of others. I would like some action taken against this contractor. People have been ripped off. Complaints have been filed and nothing seems to have happened to benefit the consumer Bear knows they are doing it and they are paying no penalty. BBB needs to step in and take some action.

My washer was making a loud noise and emitting a burning smell like a belt was slipping. The washer is probably 20 years old so I told the tech its hopefully the belt based on a previous similar problem and if it is I would fix it. If it is more serious, then its not worth fixing. After quite a while he told me it was definitely the belt. Based on that I gave authorization to move forward with the repair and gave a deposit of half the expected bill. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $130. I am moving so I needed the washer fixed quickly so I called the office and offered to buy the belt myself to save time from them ordering it, having it delivered, and then making a date to finish the repair. I paid over $20 for the belt and had it available when the tech arrived to install it. In the process of installing the new belt he called me into the room and said that the belt was not the problem at all and in fact was in fairly good shape! The issue was that the transmission was shot and also leaking. So, the issue was misdiagnosed from the start. The problem was never the belt in the first place. I requested a refund of the difference between the normal initial visit charge which is around $109, vs the $130 deposit I paid for the belt replacement. I contacted this business several times speaking to a representative named ******** believe. She assured me that she requested the refund a few times. Then I called and she said that it was denied. She did not know the reason so I asked to speak to a manager. She said that she sent a request to call me to the management team. Called again and no return call.--I feel the refund request is very legitimate and cannot understand the discourteous response. If the washer was diagnosed properly in the first visit, I would have declined further repair since the cost was not warranted for a washer that old and paid the $109 initial diagnostic charge. Not the $130 deposit for repairing a belt that did not need to be replaced.
