Terrible from start to finish. Dr. *** did not even examine me. They ******** fellow) kept referring to a R elbow fracture. Going into the appointment- H***6*1*1*9*2*6*8***9H was repeatedly told that I had a closed fracture of the head of my left humerus. Dr. * spent (if I am giving him a lot of grace) * minutes with me. No introduction, No examination, No eye contact, No referencing x-rays (that Thank Goodness I brought them from an ************ Can you imagine the price H***6*1*1*9*2*6*8***9H would have charged??). This guy, *** was barely alert....think Catatonic. This Jerk, *** said that he could not treat ****** had to meet with their shoulder specialist. So...another co-pay of $140.00 & 2xs whatever they are going to bill my insurance. Nope! I alerted my insurance *************** two is in their dreams. Mislead and Ridiculously Overcharged - My son was considering ACL reconstruction at Rothman Ortho in ************, and during that visit they rushed us through a process to fit him for a brace for post surgery. When I expressed concern with the cost and timing of fitting him in a consult, they said "oh don't worry, we can evaluate the cost after the surgery and see what insurance pays". On the packaging - it said "Rx Only", so figured this was a requirement and there were no other options. Once I got home from this consult -it didn't sit well with me about the brace, so I looked up online the model number of the brace - and I felt completely ripped off. It was $109 on Amazon... the exact model. I called Rothman and they said there was nothign we could do because Insurance hasn't processed the claim. We didn't end up going with Rothman for the surgery, but when we got the bill it was $759.34 AFTER insurance (total bill of $1336.00). When I called back to say the claim had been processed, Rothman said it was beyond the 7 day return policy. This is fraud, waste and abuse... no other way to say it. This was clearly meant to charge something during a consult - so that even if you didn't get the surgery at Rothman... they could profit. So wrong - and I hope this saves someone else from being taken advantage of.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

I tore my ACL in June 2024. I visited Rothman Orthopedics as a self-pay patient for an evaluation. Before the appointment, I was told by office staff that the office visit, consultation with the surgeon, and X Rays would all be included for $330, which I paid in full before leaving the office after my appointment.About 6 months later I received another bill from Rothman Orthopaedics for $353.00. They claimed that the additional payment was due and subsequently turned the bill over to a collection agency, which has been calling my phone repeatedly. After contacting Rothman Orthopedics several times to explain that I paid my bill in full on the date of service, they submitted it to their compliance department, which did not resolve or remove the additional bill. They told me I must pay *****, in my opinion, this was deceptive practice, as I was never informed that additional services for more charges would be included in my one 10 minute visit with the surgeon or that more bills would be coming, after I was quoted the full price for the office visit and paid my account in full on the date of service.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

My 19-year-old son suffered a ***** break in his left foot on February 1. We saw Dr. ******** with Rothman orthopedics two days later and he recommended surgery and for us to immediately see Dr. ****** the surgeon. When we saw Dr. ******* he said if my son was his brother he would recommend waiting two weeks Before making a decision about surgery, so we did that. After two weeks in a cast he said OK whats your decision? Nobody couldve healed this fast. Do you want to do surgery or wait? and if you wait you have an 80% chance of healing naturally So we decided to wait and my son was put into another cast for four weeks. After four weeks in the cast, we went back for another x-ray and we saw Dr. ******** again. He was surprised we hadnt had surgery and At this time Dr ******** also mentioned for the first time that it could take 6-12 months for this ***** fracture to heal naturally. This was the first time we had heard this timeline. At this point I encouraged him he reached out to Dr. ****** to look at that fresh x-ray, so while we waited Dr. ****** did look at it and he recommended surgery at that point- keep in mind This is six weeks after the initial break. Dr. ******** then said we were welcome to get a second opinion and so we did that day and we ended up going with another surgeon in the area that we are very pleased with. If Dr. ****** had simply told us right away to have surgery my son would have been back to normal life 6 weeks sooner. We also spent unnecessary money on 2 casts. I know rothman is highly rated and regarded, but in our case Dr ****** did not take time to give us the full picture and help us make the wisest choices for our son. He was rushed in our 2 appointments, ****, and we regret we were not aware of other surgeons that specialize in ************ surgery sooner.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

(ROTHMAN-*************************************************)Physician Assistant ************ told my 75yr old father "she will only address one body part per visit". My father came in to address swelling in both knees, ************ stated "she can only assess one body part a visit,he'd have to return to have the other knee assessed".My father is in excruciating pain, due to arthritis and minimal cartilage of the knees. He was prescribed an oral steroid and advised to follow-up with his primary orthopedic doctor.****** to hear my father was told,"ONE BODY PART PER VISIT".I called the office requesting to speak to this P.A. ************,and was provided a representative(Ms. *************)of ************ to determine the concern.I wanted to know if this was a healthcare regulation, a healthcare law, is this the Rothmans policy of a limit of one body part per visit, is this legal? How would you feel if your father/loved one needed both knees to be examined and only told "ONE BODY PART PER VISIT". Ms. ************* stated,"that's not a regulation, that's the P.A. request because the Rothman urgent care must limit the amount of body parts assessed due to the high volume of patients". ARE YOU SERIOUS!!My father doesn't like confrontation, and he definitely does not like pain,he was in serious pain,he just wanted answers for both his knees and he was content and happy a doctor could assess him today.I am disappointed and angry with this P.A. ************, whom I never met because I wasn't there, because she has made it very clear, patients are a number and not human beings. Here's some advice for this place, let them know how many body parts you would like for them to assess before making the appointment,so you will not arrive expecting to be seen for all your ailments.P.A. ************,"SHAME ON YOU,PUT YOURSELF IN YOUR PATIENTS SHOES,PERHAPS YOU DONT CARE AND ARE ONLY FOR THE MONEY, AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A P.A.! "I HOPE I NEVER MEET YOU".I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR NAME.Rothman Orthopaedic Institute

*************/******* location Absolutely horrible post surgery care! Basically once they perform the surgery, its impossible to get consistent care/attention from them. They requested that the Patient be seen within two weeks. The one time I was able to call and actually speak to a person. Their next appointment wasnt until almost a month after the surgery. They also took 2 days to respond to/stop by and look at the incision while patient was still in the hospital. Even with the infectious dr, the hospital dr, charge nurse and nurse sending the office of **************** emails and calls. The ortho PA that did stop by was rude, uncaring and was not able to answer specific questions for us. If we had to choose an orthopedic surgeon it would NOT be with RothmanRothman Orthopaedic Institute
