Early in the morning on June 19th, I made an emergency appointment online, at the ********* Pennsylvania location for my five-year-old son who broke off part of his molar. After my experience, if I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would. The appointment was for 10:30 am today. I drove over an hour to get there only to be refused service, stating they don't work on children that young. They said the best they could do is to look at it, and if he needs antibiotics, they would prescribe them but they won't fix it. Mind you I made this appointment online, where I had to enter his birthdate and it let me continue. After being treated incredibly rudely, and made to feel like I was bothering the staff after simply asking why they wouldn't help me when I had an appointment, I left. I called their corporate office and also filed a complaint. Corporate stated the minimum age to be treated is 5 (which he is), and this was an emergency appointment. Corporate could not understand why he wasn't treated and neither do I. I may now have to go all weekend with my poor five-year-old having a broken tooth that is causing him a lot of pain. I leave this here as a warning for anyone wanting to go to Aspen Dental. At least the one in ********* **. If you have children avoid this place at all costs. If you're adult...still avoid this place at all costs. The manner in which I was spoken to was higly unprofessional especially for a business that deals with patients.

Had to have my exam before I could schedule my cleaning. They told me my cleaning would be $500 with my insurance. I spoke to my insurance and they told me I have a routine cleaning covered. Called to schedule my cleaning - routine only - and they told me I would have to see the ** again so the ** could change my treatment plan. I asked to speak with the ** as I could not take more time off of work, said I would have to come in again.Never had any issues with my teeth - not even a cavity - to warrant a $500 cleaning!

On my first and only visit to the office I was told I needed an over $3000 scaling procedure. When I asked if I could just have a simple cleaning I was told "No, the dentist could lose her license since she recommended a different procedure". I know this is not the case as I should be able to choose the dental care I am comfortable with. They also took numerous xrays. I have never had so many taken at one time. I have now scheduled appointment with a reputable dentist who will clean my teeth without pressuring me to have further work done.

We finally got to talk to them and they are saying they can't honor the permanents cause it's been over a year. I had an appointment scheduled 6 months in advance. I got a call about 3 hours prior to my appointment and was told I had to reschedule because the new hygienist doesnt work after a certain time. This is crazy because Im sure they knew this well before I was notified the day of. I thought they would atleast accommodate me with the new appointment I now had to schedule but nope not at all. So now Im stuck waiting for a my new appointment which isnt scheduled for two months later. Way to go ASPEN. Im ready to find another dentist now because that is not how you conduct business.

In July of 2022 I had chipped a tooth that needed repair/bonding. I was scheduled in rather quickly. Xrays were taken and after seated in the dental chair the dentist and assistants started to repair other teeth without my consent. Since drilling was already taking place i could not stop the process. After they were done I paid the initial fees and was asked to pay more a few days later. Since I was informed that my insurance was billed and, did not receive any billing in the future I assumed that everything was settled. On June 10, 2024 I received a letter a notice of Collections. I called Aspen and asked why no billing had been sent in the previous 20 months? I was informed there was a data breach AND also an I.T. meltdown at Aspen that may have contributed to this issue. After contacting my insurance (MetLife Dental) they informed me that they, in 2021 had asked for more clarification on the billing from Aspen but, had received nothing in reply. I was able to ascertain the original statements from MetLife but, since Aspen never replied to them, there was a balanced owed that I was never notified of from Aspen until this notice of collections. My consternation over all of this is that I could have easily used my FSA account at work to cover any other charges but, since its from 2022 I cannot now pay using this account because it's 2024!!!. Aspen billing department personnel were extremely remorseful but since it went to Collections there was much they could do. I feel this is extremely inappropriate (but not illegal) business practice to jeopardize the consumers credit rating over a mistake made by Aspen in the first place. Also I am quite upset, as I was in 2022, that other teeth were repaired without my consent. I believe they went ahead and did this because they were, and did, bilk more money from the patient. Thus, this is why I am filing this complaint.

This company is a joke. I'd give them zero stars if it would let me. They never answer the phone, constantly automatically reschedule my appointments to times that don't work for me, and they're always late. I have had 8:00am appointments and they haven't taken me until 9:30 - after the office staff had plenty of time to chat and drink their coffee in front of a waiting room full of people. The last straw for me was when they didn't numb my mouth enough during a recent procedure. When I tried to stop the dentist to tell her, she told me not to worry about it, then announced she would "switch to a bigger drill bit and that would help." It did not help. I was miserable. To make matters worse, I got a bill in the mail today for nearly $700 for the procedure. They billed my old insurance (which I haven't had for two years and has absolutely been updated on my file since then) and the claims got denied. Tried to call their corporate line for help and they sent me to the local office. No one ever answered, as usual. Like I said, this company is a joke. Do yourself a favor and find a different dentist.
