      Their billing practices are crooked. **** in their billing office advised me to call my insurance company because there was an issue with payment. They charged the card I had used for copays for the full balance before my insurance company could even confirm my coverage for the visit. It took them less than 2 weeks to charge my moms card for the full balance after advising me to call my insurance company to get more info and she also told me if insurance denied it that I could set up a payment plan so I didnt have to pay the whole bill in full. They did not set up the payment plan, nor did they wait to hear back from **** Health Plan about my coverage. They just wanted their money so they charged the card for the FULL BALANCE even though I did exactly as **** recommended which was call the insurance company. I specifically told them when asking for the payment plan that I could NOT afford the full balance right now, since I lost my job and had no income. They had an agreement to charge my moms card because she told me she would cover my copays since I had a lack of income - so they had her card on file for ******. They didnt tell me they were going to charge her card the full balance. I only found out through an emailed receipt AFTER the payment had processed AFTER I had asked about a payment plan! I had to pay her all the money I had for the $140 balance - every ***** i had for groceries this month! After explaining to billing that I couldnt afford to pay this in full! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT PAYMENT NOT THEIR PATIENTS!!! The lowest payment plan they offered me was $70 a month - and then didnt even follow through with what they offered, they took the entire $140!

      i have had three horrific experiences with this center, across intake, psychiatric care, and billing. It takes repeated emails to get them to understand basic concepts that should be simple for them to complete (especially in the billing department). the worst thing was that when I was in acute stress and need of care, my intake psychiatrist was 30 mins late to the appt (with no notification, and at this center there is no way to contact the desk or get immediate assistance), and then hurriedly prescribed me my first-ever antidepressant medication with only providing the guidance of "don't stop taking it" -- ZERO information about side effects to anticipate, what I could do to mitigate side effects, how long I could expect them to last, etc. the billing department people are also extremely incompetent. i was in recovery for trauma and doing great, but working with these people totally set back my mental health and was the main cause of stress in my life for several weeks straight at a very fragile point in my recovery journey. it was just a complete joke. just seek care elsewhere. i don't recommend wasting money on their sub-par services given the hassle it will cost, and the blame YOU will shoulder for their general incompetence. i really think the government or city should close this place down.

      Hello ********, I would like to remind you that all incoming clients sign a consent which outlines their financial responsibility to manage their payment should insurance not reimburse their health care expenses. Our billing team consistently makes every reasonable effort to recover balances from the insurance company. Our billing team also communicates patient balances to the patient. However in instances of non payment or for consumers who utilize obscure coverage there may need to be additional steps taken by the client. At the Counseling and Wellness Center we only wish to interact with patients who value our efforts and appreciate our services. We are not able to work with those who demean and degrade our team at every juncture. I wish you luck in your journey and I hope that you find a facility and provider that meets your expectations.

      I came to contact this place in regards of a therapist- I seen and READ GOOD reviews but it has been 3 weeks and I have yet talked to an actual person.I did a internet inquiry at first, they called back being i work a full time job I can't answer my phone so for a few days we played phone tag- now when I call and leave a message i have not gotten a call back- for someone who is struggling to find a therapist after dealing with post partum depression its discouraging to not get a call back- like some people find reaching for help difficult and then you get this in return. I find it sad 5 locations but no one to answer a call- at least when calling they should say due to high volume or something to that extent .

      The therapist and mental health services they provide are the best I've received, however, their billing department is the worst I've ever dealt with. Charging me incorrectly. Randomly charging my card and literally harassing not just the clients but the therapists that work their for payments. I took my card off their website last year due to randomly being charged. Now I'm getting threatened to put it back on or I can no longer see my therapist of nearly 4 years. There was an issue with my bill that I was waiting for them to fix. Once it was fixed my jeep broke down and I have several medical issues I'm currently dealing with. They then told me to pay it or I could no longer see my therapist. I've paid all my bills with them throughout the years. They even attached it to my therapist to see I told them this was incredibly unprofessional and they need to chill and leave people be especially someone who has been going for years and has always paid. They then told me to put my card back on file or I can't see my therapist anymore. I asked for a copy of this policy since they want unlimited access to my card, they refused. So I told them I'll be filing a complaint here. Stop THREATENING PEOPLE!

I am grateful to learn that you are having a positive therapy experience in our center and of course I am dissapointed to learn that you are having some issues with our billing policies. Our billing team is always glad to arrange a payment plan and even suspend the payment plan if you are undergoing a financial hardship. Our billing team is here to help you resolve any billing issues and of course their primary role is to collect prompt payment. All clients have access to their informed consent and client agreements in the patient portal, you maintain access to them at all times. One final peice of information is that your therapist is a self employed person who is paid when each of their clients pay their bills so it is our responsbility to each therapist to ensure that they are aware of any billing issues which will impact their payment.
