We purchased our puppy from Petland 11/17/24. On 11/20 he had went from a rambunctious playful puppy to a lethargic puppy. He was hacking and coughing and spitting up mucus/spit. I called the ** vet and they advise after listening to the description of the symptoms that I reach out to a vet. I took him to the vet the next day and $400 later it was discovered through an X-ray that he had pneumonia. An additional $50 later he was prescribed an antibiotic to take twice a day with a follow up in a week to confirm it cleared up. In between that it was discovered that he had a tick. The tick was rather large and engorged which led me to believe it was on him since we purchased him and that Petland did not check for this prior to him leaving with us that day. We reached out to their claims department which left a lot to be desired as since I wasnt the purchaser (hubby did in his name) they couldnt talk to me (the one who made the phone calls, vet visits, medicine pickup etc) even tho I was also listed as secondary owner/purchaser. So it was multiple rounds of phone tag with *******, for her to say that they would be willing to reimburse $125 as the maximum for the costs associated with the puppys bills. The puppy comes with 30 days complimentary insurance that MAY COV** UP TO 70% and you would then be responsible for the rest. Which if approved that would be our portion for this incident. However the document you sign states they will not be liable for anything else that happens related to this incident or any others and I am not ok with that. We are still waiting to hear whether or not our claim is approved. I want anything thats related to this now or future refunded. The more we think about what we paid and the number of issues weve had in such a short period of time there is no way that this should considered resolved even with the refund because of the potential for more issues to come. Their claims settlement folks are rude and need training in empathyInitial Complaint

On August 22nd 2023 I purchased what we were told was a purebred German shepherd puppy. We financed through them approximately 5200.00. We were looking for a purebred so we decided to purchase him. We were told that all of the accessories came with him. The total amount was 5200.00. We did not realize that we were paying for those accessories. When we got him home we were not able to get him to eat. He had constant diarrhea day and night. We decided to change his food from the grain free dog food they sold us to purina puppy chow. He did start eating a little but the diarrhea continued. We took him to our vet who thought he was extremely underweight and not very healthy. That bill was over 600.00 due to running tests and labs. We were told he was anemic and more than likely had parasites or worms. We were given several different medications. His diarrhea never did stop. It was day and night. We went back to Petland and was told this was normal and German Shepards will always have this. It didn’t sound right to us. He continued to not gain any weight even though he was eating more. We took him back to the vet who was very concerned. They recommended having an ultrasound which would be another 500.00 or 600.00. That would only be for testing. Not any treatment. We took our dog back to Petland to discuss everything with the manager Amy A********. We were told no refunds of any kind. We would need to call claims. We had already done this. We supplied all the information they requested up until the most recent vet visit. Still have not heard back as of today. We questioned the manager about the breeder being USDA exempt and Petland following all USDA guidelines. She defended the owners reputation and the breeder. We were sold a very sick dog. We are looking for a refund of just the dog. 3900.00 and all of our vet bills.Initial Complaint

I want a refund for a dog we’ve bought on September 3,2023. The dog has bitten my self several times. I had to be treated at Med Express for my wounds. The police had to come to evaluate the situation. The employees at Petland’s either hang up cut me off when I tried to leave a voice mail. All I want is a refund for the dog.Initial Complaint

MyhusbandandI purchased a huskypuppy from PetlandRobinson in Pennsylvania on March4,2023.Since the daywe broughthim home he has been having stomach problems-diarrhea,vomiting,etc.He has also been havingbehavioral problemsthat are unmanageable.Biting, lunging at us,soiling everywhere, ruined furniture, screams when we put himin his cageeven if we are right beside him when it’s bedtime, etc.Petland Robinsonemployees claimthat this is normal, but I DID NOT agreewith the statement.I contacted ******* *** ******** in Washinton,Pennsylvania as he needed to be seenanyways as a new patient, and I told them whatwas going on.******** said that thisis not normal, said he most likely has a mentaldisorder withthe behavioralissues, but heis tooyoung toofficially diagnose him,and put him onan antibioticcalled Metronidazole for the upset stomach. This was on March 9th.$200.Last night,March 12th,we took him to ******.I called themandtold themhis symptoms andthey saidto bring him to get tested for Parvo just in case.Negative, but $100 more.I readonlinethat stomach problems in puppies canbe caused by a foodchangeso Idecided to lookthrough our contract andget information inregards to thebreeder so I can contact them and seewhat theyfeed their puppies.Thesearch wasnot successful in that regard, but I did findout the information in our contract withPetland was misinformationand we feel as if we signed it under false pretense. We want to return the dog and wanta full refund. The dog was not from a breeder,he wasfrom a puppy mill where there are known reports of the puppies beingmistreated and left outside in the freezing cold weather. His paperwork stated the wrong location,an inaccurate name.If I wouldhave known where he came from, wewould NOT have bought him.Tried contacting claims and warranties and they will not call meback. Also confused on how much he costed us when his sale price was $3,324.99,but we paid $4,527.52.We are considering taking legal action if not resolved.Ihave morefiles ifnecessary.Initial Complaint

On 12/10/2022 I purchased a dog at Petland in Robinson Township. Consulted with Carrie about two different dogs. I was told one of the dogs was not vet checked and would be available on 12/16/2022. As we were playing with the first dog that was a Shiba Inu Carrie advised us about a half hour later the 2nd dog which was a Pomsky was also available ? My wife and I asked Carrie the price. She went to look it up and said $ 3699.99 minus 5%. Carrie told us the monthly payment was $118.00
I asked if it was for everything and was told yes.So my wife and I were looking at $ 3514.99 total. Next we were told we get a name tag and a few other things to pick. Very Confusing since a manager was ringing things up and trying to read everything that was coming over my phone. The manager Jessica was also involved in the sale. Next the bill arrived and it was $4708.46 at a monthly payment of $189.00. This is unacceptable and very deceptive practices. Spoke with Jessica in the store and was told she would speak with Carrie and call me. That was almost 2 weeks ago. No return calls and impossible to reach. When I go to the store they tell me Jessica is at the Mpnroeville location ? $399.99 Enhanced Protection Program and $450.00 Puppy Kit Essentials 36" need refunded off bill. We were told this was included.
