Birgo failed to maintain a safe environment to live. I moved in with the understanding that there was a parking lot at the building with cameras and lights to monitor activity. In mid winter the property manager decided that there were too many cars (there were but there were less than 60 spots for a building with over 100 apartments) and decided to move our parking to a lot near the building but without adequate lighting and no cameras that is not accessible. When attempting to ask about this decision if it would be temporary if cameras would be put up etc I was ignored. Then break ins started happening and my vehicle was stolen. They told me there was no cameras and that they specifically did not respond to my questions about the safety of the lot because tenants didn’t need to know what improvements they were doing to the complex. I was only given a temporary parking pass that lasted a week refused a new one for the duration of my lease and told I had to use my visitor parking pass. They then had my car towed from the lot. I was given a notice that I failed an “inspection” and the date they gave of the inspection I was home sick and no one had come to my apartment. When trying to talk to corporate or anyone above my property manager I was continuously ignored. Every other week they say they are doing a treatment for pests and I have to remove my service animal from my apartment for the entire day because they don’t give a specific time for treatment. The apartment was not cleaned before I moved in and they didn’t do a walk through. I know it wasn’t cleaned because I found multiple cups full of cigarette butts under the kitchen sink and the ac unit had mold in it.

Birgo Realty is committed to maintaining a safe environment at all of our properties.  At *** ******** ***** ********* **), we maintain security cameras on the premises and secured exterior doors, along with maintaining a relationship with law enforcement and carefully screening all residents for criminal background.  Currently, we are leasing a temporary parking lot from a nearby church to provide overflow parking while we plan and construct an expansion to our existing parking lot.  As we are leasing the lot, we are unfortunately unable to control the security or how it is managed by the owner.  We are sincerely sympathetic to ****** ****** that their car was stolen from the said lot.

For clarity, all of our residents were given parking passes for the temporary parking lot, including ****** ******.  The existing spaces around The Bradford are temporarily only for visitors and staff.  We have and continue to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of the temporary parking arrangement. We are working hard to create a permanent solution for the property.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

this response does not address what I was told. Nor does it address the fact that there is no accessible parking because the “accessible” spots require a step up and a step down in order to get into the parking lot and access the building. I was told that cameras were being put up in the temporary lot as well as more lighting but none of that nor has any construction been started in the lot of the building. And when asking about it I was told tenants were not allowed to know information or updates about the building. I have never once received a reply to any concern that I have expressed to management of my building or higher up and that fact was not addressed at all. The temporary lot is not being used for overflow parking it is being used for all parking visitor or not. My vehicle being towed was right after I sent a complaint about the manager and it seems like more than a coincidence that my car was towed at 4 am after expressing concerns. I was never given a replacement permanent pass after my vehicle was stolen. The lack of communication was never addressed. It’s just not good enough.

    Regards,

I have been without air and heat since September 10th and I have continuously tried to contact management but nobody answers or returns any of my calls. I’ve left multiple voicemails and I have even sent multiple emails and still no communication from this business. This company is constantly unavailable to their tenants and doesn’t even try to at minimum return calls. This is something that could have been handled easily with simple communication but I haven’t been able to get ahold of anybody with this company besides secretaries and maintenance people.
