Delta called on the phone and introduced themselves, then offered to send a free fishing pole if I gave them my address. They asked me if I needed anything, and I told them I needed a particular type of insecticide. They told me to expect my fishing pole soon, then said good-bye. They shipped me an entirely different type of insecticide, out of the blue. A CASE of it in fact. This is WITHOUT ever quoting me a price or asking for authorization to ship me anything. I will never do business with a company like that, and they need to stop harassing me to pay for a product I didn't order.Business Response
Date: 11/26/2024
We are under the impression that ***** had placed an order with our sales rep ***** Apparently **** was also under the same impression when he submitted the order.
We did not, and do not offer a free fishing pole. We offer what is clearly labeled by our **** as a sales promotion. Which the fishing pole was. It is, as the name indicates, used to promote a sale.
We sent the promised fishing pole, the promised product, and an invoice.
Obviously confusion can happen in telephone sales. There was certainly nothing malicious or underhanded in the approach that we took.
That said, we have been attempting to contact this business since 4/1/24 about this order/invoice that we showed as due on our end since 2/29/24. We have reached out by phone (until our number was blocked), by mail, and by email a combined 17 times in an effort to resolve this.
Speaking personally, if I were sent something I hadn't ordered, I'd reach out to the company that sent the merchandise, rather than actively avoid every attempt at contact from them.
Mr. **** never took the time to return a phone call or an email where he could have explained the situation to us and we'd have worked to resolve it.
We still will.
If the customer would like to return this product, we encourage him to reply to this message, or any of the emails we've sent, and we will happily work to have the product picked up at our cost, and close out the invoice.
Otherwise, we believe this to be a valid order, and yes, we would expect payment for the merchandise ordered and sent that this customer has had in their possession since February.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
First off, I didn't speak to ******* I spoke to a boisterous young lady who acted more like she wanted a date than an order.
This company's reputation speaks for itself. They sent me a product I didn't request, and what they sent me didn't even fill the need I told them I had. I don't have time to respond to every charlatan that comes along. I only submitted this one to the BBB because the company is persistent, and I wanted to let other customers know about my experience. I don't actually care what resolution we get here, and I don't expect one, either.

11/19/24 I got a call from ***** **** offering try a product that cost 25 dollars. I said would be will to test it out. The following day I received a bill for 12 units of this product that I did not order plus shipping cost for the amount of $348.92. When I call to ask what this is about he stated that he never agreed to send anything for me to test out and that he never ships single units of product. Absolute dishonest and deceptive business practices.Business Response

Our **** are instructed to make the price, quantity, and total bill of every sale clear when opening a new account. While we do not have the audio of the conversation, we believe our *** did that. That said, confusion can happen within telephone sales. I'm not sure how this rose to a BBB complaint when our customer service department never heard from the buyer here, but regardless. We'll have call tags issued to bring the products back, and upon return the invoice will be closed.Initial Complaint

Salesmen pressured to take product free of charge to try it out. When I received a bill I requested to return the product and I was told I could not return it.Business Response
Date: 09/04/2024
To whom it may concern,
I am not sure if the "cannot return" claim came from a conversation with the sales representative, but our collections department has been reaching out since January for an order that was created in October of last year. We have left countless voicemails and repeatedly mailed the invoice for payment, so we never said that. While it's true that we have a 45 day return policy, and our department has never been contacted.
As a courtesy, we will happily take the product back in order to close this invoice out and resolve this issue, please contact us ************ and ask for **** or use ext 207, so that we may make arrangements for pickup through Fed Ex.Thank you.

In March 2024, I received a call from Delta Products regarding their cleaning products. They said they would send a free **** travel bag (which they did), as well as some samples of their products to see if they might work for the hotel. I received the bag very quickly, which was then followed up with an invoice for payment of the "samples" they sent for $160.92. Samples usually are free when a business is looking to eel their products. Never once did they say there was a charge for them or for shipping. I have been inundated with numerous invoices since March 7 (seven) to be exact. including a letter stating if I did not pay, they would be sending me to collections. I did not order their products, nor did any "samples" or products ever arrive at the hotel. Reading the reviews of this company on the BBB web page, I realize that this was more than likely scam. I am not paying for items I did not order or receive. Nor will I do business with a company the is deceptive and uses lies to trap people into this type of situation.Business Response

I have dealt with Delta twice in the past. Once was a sample in which I received a bill for. Reluctantly I paid the bill even though I was told the sample was free......they sent me a case and not a sample. Later when someone called I requested a catalog and was told one would be in the mail. Two more times I was told a catalog would be mailed. After never receiving a catalog and due to the experience over the samples, I have asked multiple times to be removed from their call list. After several more calls from Delta, I went to the BBB page for them. There I saw where many were complaining for being billed for Samples as well as the repeated unwanted calls. I saw these complaints stating they had requested to be placed on Delta's "Do not sell" list. I have asked to be placed on their "Do not sell" list and am still receiving unwanted calls from Delta Products. I just want them to stop calling and stop wasting my time. I have no desire to do any business with this company.Business Response

I have spoken to the rep making the phone calls and instructed them no longer to reach out to this facility. There is a Do Not Sell on the account, so no order would be shipped without an email from the authorized purchaser at this company moving forward.
We will attempt not to contact this company moving forward, however, often our representatives are cold-calling businesses in a particular category, and we are unable to promise that no call will be made in the future, but we will take every step to make sure that we do not call this business again.

Delta lighting products sales ***** is sending product that was NOT ordered and then sending a bill for the product and shipping.Sales rep 552 (******) started off by excessively calling our office and offering free gifts for your order. Once the order is placed, he continue to call to force more sales with free gifts offered.Recently, product showed up (that we did not order) and a bill showed up 10 days later. We are now on the Do Not Call, Do Not Sell list.Business Response
Date: 05/07/2024
While we do understand that there can be confusion in telephone sales, in this case, it appears our rep was at a minimum overzealous. We have applied the requested "Do Not Sell" to the account, and have already made arrangements for return of the merchandise. The invoice will be credited, and the customer will have a zero balance. We apologize for any inconvenience.Initial Complaint

Delta Lighting Products contacted my previous Director of ************* Services sometime in late December 2023 and asked if they could send samples of their product. According to our previous Director of ************* Services he agreed to free samples. The samples were received but a bill followed in January 2024 when the Director of ************* Services was still employed, this employee was adamant that the representative from Delta Lighting offered their products to sample. The previous Director of ************* Services moved to a different job outside of our organization in late February 2024. Delta Lighting is now harassing myself and the current Director of ************* Services. I did offer to pay if they could produce a signed PO, an email that shows agreement to purchase, or a telephone transcript of the previous Director's conversation during the exchange proving that there was an agreement made between our business and Delta Lighting. After reading other complaints made to BBB about Delta Lighting I am confident that this is their normal business practice and I do not want to do business with them. We have offered to send the products back but a representative that goes by the name of **** has hung up on my staff member twice when we offered to send the products back. I want them to stop calling us and to not send any products in the future.Business Response

This company likes to send invoices that some times accompanies products that we never order. This past 'invoice' lists the person that authorized the purchase as a cook that hardly speaks english and never would authorize a purchase much less answer the phone. They never seem to call me because I know exactly how these companies work. The prey on businesses that are unaware of their tactics. There are similar complaints about this company from other businesses. They need to be shut down or fined.Business Response

Complaint: 21562593
I am rejecting this response because:a) ******* does not answer the telephone. No one on property would ever transfer a call to anyone that is authorized to make purchases to anyone other than myself. I have been here for 13+ years and this has never been an issue.
b) We received this 'invoice' prior to ever receiving a delivery of any merchandise. Once I received the invoice, because i am familiar with how we were duped into paying one of these invoices in August of 2023, I immediately informed all the managers on property to refuse delivery of any packages from this company. We never receive anything and now we are being asked to pay for good we never ordered and never received. If there is some sort of proof of delivery, I want to see it and I want to see who accepted this package, if it was even ever sent here.
The fact that their representative is shocked that this would happen is laughable. A simple search of this company online, reveals that other businesses have had to deal with similar issues.

Thanks for allowing me to tell you about Delta Lighting Products Inc (DLPI). They call business's telling consumers that they are offering a free chemical or a product to try. My shops service writer told them numerous times that we were NOT interested in any products. Then on Wednesday July 26th *** ** stopped to bring us a box of chemicals. We new better and told ***** to return the product to the sender (Delta Lighting Products Inc), in which he took item back to his truck. Then again the ***** driver returned on Friday July 28th with the same product. We told him we don't want anything from that company delivered here. He took it back yet again, upset that he was lugging it around but after telling him the story he understood and had us put on a list with ***** that we do not take shipments from DLPI. Now today Monday July 31st I received a bill from DLPI totaling $276.62 on product we didn't except because we never wanted it. Now that we refused there solicitation they continue to call us daily from different numbers and names all wanting to talk to our service writer. I told them also that we are not interested in there products or services. I have done this nicely but now I am starting to get fed up with the constant harassment. I wanted to let the BBB know of this because i don't want this type of scam happening to others. The part that bothered me the most was the BBB accredited business logo that is present on there invoices!Business Response

While we appreciate the version of events that *** ******** provided, we do believe that it is inaccurate. We do not, have not, and will not, call a customer offering a free product to try.
We make it very clear that with any product being sent a bill will accompany it. Furthermore, the individual who made this purchase, Mr. Mark Kunze, also made a prior purchase with us back in 2019, so this is not our first experience dealing with this customer.
We are aware that in the business of telephone sales there can be miscommunication, and clearly that is what happened here.
The merchandise was returned to us, the invoice received by this customer has been credited out, and we have placed a “Do Not Sell” on this account.
At this point we consider the matter closed.
Sincerely,
Customer Service Coordinator

Date of contact: 27FEB2023 Amount: 12 bottles priced @ $188.91 -Dispute-On 27FEB2023 around midday a salesperson from Delta Lighting Products, INC. called the front desk of my hotel. I happened to be there and was able to take the call. I spoke to the salesperson, *****, who kept pushing a sale when I repeatedly stated to ONLY send a quote of the products over to my email. There was NO confirmation verbal NOR non-verbal to send product. The quote that WAS NOT approved had the above price and amount listed. We received a box from the company that has labels that there are 12-32OZ bottles, but there were only 9 bottles of solution in it. This is incredibly a poor business practice to send an invoice after shipping an order with no confirmation. I have been unable to contact anyone from their company about this situation. The order number was ****** send on 2/27/2023 the account number is our phone number. We have no P.O. with this company, nor is there one listed on the invoice.Business Response

Dear *******,
We received ****************** complaint today and wanted to take the time to address it. I am not sure when this complaint was filed, but this matter has been resolved on our end for well over two weeks. In the complaint **************** contends that he was unable to reach anyone for a solution. I apologize for any difficulties he may have had in that regard. While I do not know what attempts may have been made to reach the sales rep, I do know that upon contacting Customer Service, it appears from our notes that things moved very quickly.
We call tagged the merchandise on 3/6/23, and by 3/9/23 those products were back here, the invoice was credited out, and we consider this matter resolved, and believe we have touched on all of the requests **************** made in this complaint. Thank you.
Sincerely,
