I hired this company over a year ago and they took down payment gor work and then never came back or called when 8 months past snd i threaten to file charges they final got someone out said it was a problem with them subletting there name but promise to get job down they sent a side guy out did silding job and i started having leaking problem in home called them they came out side gutters was installed wrong claim he sealed and it be fine ask for finally payments i reminded them job not done no gutter guards they said they comeback still didnt come i called another place to come look cause still having more leaking after there job and was given pic from figferent company from all the problems and dilding i stalled wrong gutters wrong and lei home not answering or making excuses and not fixing anything now i have a leak and gutter problems no guards and side of house leaking in from dilding soInitial Complaint

We had an in-home appointment with Alex P*** from LEI Home Enhancements of Pittsburgh to purchase replacement windows. We made an initial deposit of $5,553 via. c**** **** which was cashed on March 31st, 2023. This was required contractually in order to "hold" our spot and discounts. Subsequently LEI visited our house to take detailed measurements but have since repeatedly failed to provide us with a proper contract that we were comfortable signing for the delivery and installation of windows. We have tried repeatedly to get needed corrections made and as of June 14th we had a verbal conversation and indicated at that time we wanted to cancel our order completely due to a lack of confidence in LEI. At that time we were told that was fine and we could expect to have our money refunded in full by June 19th. As of posting this BBB complaint on July 22nd, 2023 we have had no further attempted efforts on the part of LEI Home Enhancements of Pittsburgh to resolve this matter (no phone calls or emails). ALL we are seeking at this time is a full refund of our deposit which was made in good faith with the understanding the LEI would be capable of providing us with replacement windows. IF we are unsuccessful via. this mechanism it is our intent to seek professional counsel and advisement from an attorney. We are sincerely hopeful we can avoid having to perform this action. This is not idicative of how we do business. After the final measure we had multiple staff members communicating with the homeowner to finalize the details and confirm the order before placing it with manufacturing. These emails had coorespondance from the homeowner but we could not agree on the details of the order. We then decided to allow the homeowner to cancel the order after the cancellation period was closed ( normally there would be cancelllation fees but we waived them for the homeowner). Please see the attached check that was made out to the homeowner to replace their initial deposit. This check has been mailed out. We are sorry we could not do business at this time. We would love to help them reach their home improvement goals.Customer Answer

Problem:
We previously filed a complaint against LEI home Improvements that was closed because the check was in the mail. That was obviously a lie as we still have no check in our hands. As a response to your response you failed to mention that after months of emails your company could still not issue us an order that was actually correct for us to sign. That is the reason we cancelled the order and requested a refund. PLEASE stop the games and actually mail a check .

We had windows and a door installed. When the door was installed the technicians noticed that some of the hardware was missing and filed a service request. That was 6 days ago and we are still waiting for someone to contact us back. I have sent several emails and left more than one voice message to no avail. We are disappointed since the company sent a representative to pick up the check for the balance prior to the work being completed. It had not been determined that anything was missing yet. We want someone to contact us to have the work completed as we were told would happen. It feels like the company is avoiding us. That they don't want to make this right.Customer Answer

I signed a contract 09/15/2020. Windows were installed incorrectly 12/04/2020. There was a balance due that was not paid because they were installed incorrectly and did not look right. The original installer left my kitchen window incomplete with a space between the inside and outside that was leaving cold air into my house. I signed a paper with him that I was not satisfied with the job he had done. LEI never contacted me until April 2022 to ask if they could correct the sloppy job and complete it to the customer's satisfaction. Unfortunately, the second installer could not correct the original job the first installer did and left the window unfinished. When I asked LEI, if they cannot fix the problem, then install completely new windows. I was told they couldn't fix it because when the initial replacement windows that were installed in 1996 they were installed incorrectly. If LEI couldn't fix anything that was previously installed, (I never had a problem with and it looked right) then they should not have taken the job or my down payment. They were putting in replacement windows not doing an original installment of new windows. They were trying say that my house is 60 years old and they cannot correct the problems. Now my house is ruined because LEI can not fix the windows to make it look right and my front window is incomplete with the capping not being flush with the window frame and is not secured or caulked.Business Response
