      The date of this is in May of 2023. They were supposed to send me a contract and a description of the work. ***** was the original salesperson, then *************************** took over the role, and I had discussed the issues with her. She informed me the contract I signed was nonrefundable for the deposit, and I asked multiple times to see this contract that said it was nonrefundable. I asked for a refund due to poor communication with the company and lack of following through with the details of the contract. I asked multiple times how they would install the vent fan in the master bedroom. I asked how they would run the basement's exhaust duct for the dryer. I have never received any updates to this work, and I was uncomfortable with them proceeding with the job until my questions were answered. I want a full refund of my deposit to close this contract.

      I have contacted the company and as of Friday 12/8/2023 they have informed me that they will be sending me a refund.  I have not received the check as of today.

      York Home Performance installed insulation in my attic, as well as installed a "whole house fan" in an upstairs bathroom. Due to the insulation installed above the bedrooms, multiple recessed lights (can lights) were pushed out of place. Once I brought this to their attention, I was told that this is to be expected... Really? You expect my recessed lights to be pushed out of place?Additionally, the newly installed "whisper quiet" whole house fan is 1) not quiet by any means, and 2) the switch that is supposed to have it turn on ~27 minutes per hour no longer works.I reached out to the company via calls, email, texts, and ******** (any method I could think of), and never had messages returned. Very disappointed that the company is not standing behind their work (it's been less than 8 months since their work was completed).

      I am so so frustrated with this company. *********************** was my auditor and salesperson. He was great. Friendly, attentive, all that. All that BEFORE the issue, at least. The techs come out. They were here for hours. They put 18” of insulation in the attic. After they left, I noticed something…in my living room, where my fireplace is, they’d blown in soot from their attic work and it had coveted everything. It’s not immediately visible as it’s fine bits….but soot is permanent. We have a cream colored couch. It’s now got gray stains and steaks all over it. The company agrees to pay $150 to have it cleaned (that’s the quote I got from ****** ******** **). ****** ******** ** comes out and tries to shampoo it out. No go. It’s ruined. In the meantime, the workers also left black handprints on my bathroom ceiling and wall where my attic hatch is. My husband scrubbed it hard…it doesn’t come off. Add to that that they left bits of insulation and spray foam in my planter beds out of carelessness…and I’m done. The work was done 11/9. The cleaning happened 11/17. It’s been almost a month since the cleaning. NO check has arrived. Meanwhile, I have a RUINED $3k couch and a bathroom I have to repaint and I’m irate. I was trying to do the nice thing and just ask for a cleaning but now I’m very angry. THIS makes me want them to replace my couch and repaint my bathroom. Yes, NOW I want more than $150. The fact that I have to chase you down when I asked for so little is so unprofessional. AVOID this company.
