On July 19th, 2023, I reached out to ********* to give me an estimate on repairs/maintenance and was never informed me about a $160 diagnostic fee. I handed his team (*****) an inspection report for the ** units, which was performed by separate party. After ***** finished his review of the system, he told me that it would be a $160 fee for his "time" AND emailed me the invoice, which is simply a summary of all the findings that I fed him both through the inspection report and my own knowledge of the system. I responded that this fee was not previously disclosed to me; however, he placed the blame ********* and still proceeded to request for payment. 3 business days pass, so I reach out to ********* regarding the quotes, which was my initial request to begin with. He was able to provide me a quote of $8K+ to replace the system, after my reminder. However, he did not issue me a refund for the "diagnosis fee", even though he acknowledged that he did not inform me about the fee and as a result this fee will waived. I reached out to a different ** company who was able to properly diagnose my ** unit. Therefore, instead of having the entire unit replaced for $8K+ (the easy, obvious, and more convenient option), I am able to repair the ** units for a fraction of the price ($1K) and keep the system for a few more *******. Overall, Im still confused on why I got billed $160 as a diagnosis fee, if all they suggested was to get a new system (which I already knew my ** units were near their estimated life through the inspection report) and MORE IMPORTANTLY this fee was not previously disclosed. Ultimately, I had to seek elsewhere for answers. Going forward, I hope this company is transparent with customers, so they are not coerced into paying random fees. AND if they are going to charge a diagnosis fee, they should be able to provide a reasonable cause/solution for repairs/maintenance.
