I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Stivers Hyundai regarding my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The misdiagnosis, misleading recommendations, and lack of accountability have caused unnecessary financial strain and disrupted my rental business.
My vehicle began experiencing issues with the auto stop feature, shutting off and requiring multiple attempts to restart. Service advisor Kyle diagnosed the issue as an outdated software and a bad battery. I was pressured into an on-the-spot decision, paying for a software update first. Kyle warned that the issue would persist until I replaced the battery.
Seeking a second opinion, I had the battery tested elsewhere and was told it was in excellent condition. Kyle dismissed these results, insisting only Hyundai’s equipment could assess it. Trusting his advice, I purchased a new battery—only to find the issue remained. When I called to report this, Kyle promised to check with the technician but never followed up. Upon returning, I learned he was no longer with the company.
A new advisor later informed me that the real issue was actually the starter, quoting over $1,200. After pushing back, the director offered a small discount, but at this point, I no longer trust your service team. When I escalated my concerns to the general manager, he dismissed me entirely, stating he disagreed with my concerns and simply told me to “enjoy my day.” This response was unprofessional and further highlighted the lack of care and accountability at your dealership.
      I request the following:
      1. A formal acknowledgment of the misdiagnosis and poor service.
      2. A full refund for the unnecessary battery replacement and software update, as neither resolved the actual issue.

Stivers Hyundai manger Matt was nasty when I tried explaining to him my complaint. On Dec 10 I was sent and invoice saying I was approved with a strong offer. I went in the same day and that's when the dealership decided to run my credit. After running my credit I was told I was still approved with x amount of down payment. Dec 26, 2024 the loan was supposed to be reworked because of the finance guy being out. As of Dec 27,2024 my loan has not been reworked and the manager Carl that I was talking to is out. Matt who's another was down right nasty! This is false advertising and lies I've been told when my credit qas ran for nothing.

I purchased a brand new Palisade calligraphy in Nov 2023 and brought it to the attention of my salesman AJ a couple of days later that my car did not drive the same as the Palisade that I had test driven. For context, my vehicle was still being unloaded from the truck preventing me from driving it. I brought it in and he proceeds to have me drive with the technician that supposedly inspected it when it came off the truck. The technician boldly says to me that he does not feel anything and asks me if I was having buyers remorse! At this point I felt insulted and disrespected. When we arrived back to the dealership, I asked my salesman what my options were. He tells me to speak with a sales manager after first telling me he doesn’t know what my options are. I also bring up the fact that my car had some type of spots on the right side of it. They were suppose to treat the outside paint of my car before delivering it to me. The sales manager tells me to contact the service manager. I setup an appointment with service to get the spots out but he would not agree to check my alignment or anything. At that point, I said I would contact corporate because the dealer was giving me the run around. Fast forward weeks later and I bring my car back for buffing. Lets just say afterwards my car looked like it was buffed with sand paper. It looked terrible!! And it looks like he chipped it and tried to cover it with paint in my trunk area. I left the dealer and went through the corporate process which was a complete waste of time because nobody speaks good english and the process is designed to not resolve anything. A few weeks later, the GM calls me. Till this day I am not sure why! It certainly wasn’t to come to a reasonable resolve. He was only concerned with my survey being low. The way I see it is they weren’t concerned with the lack of service that I received when I raised concerns therefore, I was not concerned with their image. There has been no resolve!

Deceptive Sales Practices. We called to inquire about 2022 Kia EV6 Light spoke with a salesman over the phone to make sure the car was still available and to check to make sure there were no damages like dents, abrasions, scratches, or any accidents. The salesman agreed to take videos of the interior and exterior of the car and send them to us to assure the car was in excellent condition. Within ten minutes he provided us with detailed videos. He went to great length to show there was only one small abrasion on the passenger side rear door. We agreed on a purchase price with the salesman and setup a date to drive up from Atlanta to Columbia, SC Stivers Hyundai Dealership. We arrived at the dealership and located the salesman who took us to the car to see it and to our surprise the car have numerous small abrasions on the front bumper and hood that was covered with touch-up paint. The salesman allowed us to take the car out for a test drive which turned out to be less than ten minutes. When we drove the car at speeds of 75 mph the car had severe vibration issues. The salesman suggested the tires needed rebalancing to correct the vibration issue. He took the car over to car care services to have it serviced. We waited and eventually ended up in the business manager office signing documents and handing over our check of $36,455.45 for a cash purchase. Thirty something minutes later after completing our transactions with her. We left her office and went back to find our salesman. I asked the salesman if we were going to get a copy of the Carfax report and copies of the documents we signed in the business office. He said sure. Then we asked the salesman if the service department had taken care of the vibration issue? He said, it was resolved and he personally test drove the car for ten minutes without any vibration issues. We left the dealership to make the three hour drive back to Atlanta. Halfway back home the car started vibrating again. Dealership has done nothing.

Stivers service department continues to provide the lowest standard for customer service satisfaction. Being told no to a warranty claim is one thing but the condescending attitude is unforgivable. As for the 10 year 100k mileage warranty: only the dealer determines what is covered and when. Forget about trying to talk the Hyundai corp about anything:
My wife took her 2021 Hyundai Tuscan Unlimited with 22k miles in because we discovered the weld had broken on the exhaust. They said someone had cut the pipe trying to steal the catalytic converter. See the photos for yourself. The pipe was not cut- it broke. Just another example of why not to trust dealer service at all. Always watch the repair when possible. FYI. I ended up welding the pipe to match all other welds along the exhaust pipe. It was too easy.

We were told we would receive 10% discount for my military service. Our bill was over $ 4000 and received discount of only $100. We were told that's the best they could do .So they totally lied to us even though I have it in writing. Will be letting other veterans know this immediately.

Very disappointing of what I have to deal with. I have a history there where if I had a recall I will bring my car in for that recall every time. Now I’m still having problems where I brought my car back at Stivers less than a month. I made an appointment on March 16 because of the AC stop blowing out cool air after you guys replace a motor in my car back few months ago. It was less than 15 mins we were in the lobby. One of the employee told me the car was ready. Well, we drove down the road a mile and the car started blowing out hot air again. I didn’t make it home ended up stranded on the side of the road car running hot. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!! I call the service department about the situation . Talk with female and she told me to have roadside assistance to tow the car in. Well if the car would have been taken care of the first place I wouldn’t be dealing with this situation!!!! This is unacceptable!!! Somebody is not doing their job!!! Where is the integrity???? By putting the car on the machine ( diagnostic) it should have tell all that is wrong with the vehicle. It was on the machine at least 2 different times. I paid thousands of dollars at Stivers less than 6 months now and you telling me I have to put more money in my vehicle when it should’ve been fix with the problems occurred then.
