In February 2024, I submitted an online ACH payment of my HOA dues and received a receipt for my payment to the association. When I received my invoice for 2025, three months ago, I noticed that the balance was nearly triple what I expected. This is because my initial payment was not accepted, and fees and interest accrued over the next year. There was no kind of notice, letter, email, or other notification that my account was past due. My bank did not notify me of any failed transactions. When I received the new invoice in December, I immediately paid the past due amount in full, including the $424.17 in penalties, so that I could contact the association without the risk of further penalties or actions. Over the past 3 months, I have reached out multiple times to CMP, including a written letter, emails, through their website, as well as my HOA board of directors. I have received no responses yet the next payment is due. I cannot afford to pay the enormous fees that I was charged. I feel that it is unfair and dishonest that this company can charge me late fees after a paid receipt, with no notice to the contrary, then ignore my requests for assistance. I have never missed an HOA payment in the past. I don't know where else to turn.

Thank you for your post. The management company does not charge you anything regarding late fees and interest, they are charged by your association for non-payment, late payment, etc. We get no part of that money.
We also do not make the decision to remove or reduce fees, that is something reserved for your board. I will be happy to reach out to them again to see if we can get them to waive any of the fees. Unfortunately, it is not our decision to make.
