2-18-25 ATD came out and told me and my son they would handle the roof damage and the trees for us. ATD sent Daniel M******* ( a former ATD employee) out to cut the trees and remove them. Daniel told us he would just top them so that we could try and start on repairs and he would come back and finish cutting and removing them when he got caught up from the hurricane. He never mentioned anything on price. ATD has been paid 15,263.52 for topping three trees and not finishing cutting or removing them off as stated on invoice. They are now threatening an 80 year old widower to put a lien on my house for totally taking advantage of an elderly woman in shock from hurricane damages and price gauging. This is wrong and unethical. I just want them to go away with the 15,263.52 they got to do hardly anything they were saying they would do. Now I am stuck having to pay another company to finish their work that they left. ATD (Daniel) told me, my son, and my neighbor they would be back to cut the trees up and remove them once they got caught up from the hurricane. They are now saying all 3 of us "misunderstood" when Daniel said he would come back and finish the job and remove it all.

*** ****** ******** and her son entered into a contract with ATD to perform roof, tarping, and gutter work on her home.  ATD recommended a 3rd party tree service, ******** **********, to the homeowner who performed tree services, the scope of which was determined by the approved insurance paperwork from *** ********** insurance carrier.  Insurance carriers to not typically pay for the complete haul-off and removal of trees that did not impact the home.  The fact that insurance carriers to not pay for the take-away of all the trees was discussed with the homeowner *** ********* and her son by the tree company, and with ATD personnel present.  It was explained to the homeowner that ******** ********** didn't want to haul these trees away pre-emptively and possibly leave the homeowner with a large bill that would not be covered her insurance carrier.  Both homeowners understood this, and her son directed ******** ********** to neatly stack the trees in areas on the property where there was pre-existing tree debris.  For clarity, ******** **********, not ATD, was directed to place these large tree parts in areas designated by the homeowner.

This is unrelated to the unpaid bill for ATD Roofing.  ATD signed a contract with the homeowner for only the work that ATD performed.  In that contract, signed by the homeowner, ATD charged for the work it did that was paid for by the insurance carrier, consisting of: Roofing work ($5,968.15), Tarping ($287.52), Gutter Work ($756.12), Siding work (718.20),Code Items Paid by Carrier (361.21),for a total of $8,091.20.  We have only been paid $4854.72, by personal check from ******** ********, leaving a balance of $3,236.48.  We are currently pursuing a lien through the court system on the property for this work because we have not been paid.

Any complaints the customer has about tree work are unrelated to the service provided by ATD.  That being said, ATD is a witness to the conversations around tree work and we disagree with the facts as stated by the complainant.  We know that the tree work was performed in accordance with the scope outlined and paid for by the insurance carrier.

ATD reached out to the ********* to attempt to resolve the matter.  I obtained quotes for the removal of the debris they would like removed, and I also have some other ideas that may help them.  We would like to resolve the matter amicably.  At this time, F Mike S***, President of ATD is awaiting a call back from the homeowner and/or her son.

Reading ATD’s response is completely false and wrong. The tree guy that was set up and scheduled by ATD and was representing their company as we have never even heard of the tree company and would never have used them without ATD pushing them on us to quote “speed up the process “ since they could control the tree guys schedule. The tree guy did in fact tell me, my son, and my neighbor he would be back to remove all logs  and remaining trees when he got caught up. In fact his words used were ATD had him “hopping”.

We contracted with ATD roofing on 6/11/2024 to replace our roof remove and replace all gutters and downspouts and remove and replace all window screens. We have gotten the roof done but they have not replaced the gutters and have left half of the screens to be fixed. They took some the screens but left several others. Contract states all gutters and downspouts and all screens and they have not completed the contract. We have contacted them several times with no resolution.

On or about April 26th 2023 ATD Restoration Roofing replaced our roof. When in the attic we noticed Covered ridge vents, busted and cracked decking , holes in the decking and a lot of decking that should have been replaced. On top of the roof are many soft spots . When you step on many of the boards you hear cracking. We contacted them and they are not trying to resolve the problem to our satisfaction. We are senior citizens and on a fixed income. After spending $9,178.51 on a roof, it should last us the rest of our lives.

We are actively in communication with this homeowner.  The majority of their concerns are with wood decking substrate that their shingles are nailed into.  Some of their concerns are outside of the scope of what we were hired to do, but we are still interested in trying to make them happy if possible.  During the build, the homeowner strongly resisted recommendations to replace wood decking. We replaced the minimum we thought was necessary because of the homeowners fierce resistance to a change order.   We replaced many sheets at a price far below market value because of their financial concerns, but they are not satisfied.  The prime purpose of the wood is to hold the shingles in place until they seal.  The shingles have sealed as intended and the roof was inspected and approved as satisfactory by the county.

Prior to the BBB complaint, we responded to a call to our office and sent an employee to the home to review their concerns. We sent them a proposal to attempt to satisfy them including adding additional support under spots of the roof for free.  They did not respond and instead filed this complaint.  We have been speaking with the homeowner trying to schedule an onsite visit again, but they have not been as responsive as we would like.

Two days ago on Friday the 11th, Mr. ****** responded and said he's been receiving bad news from his doctors who are looking to do surgery. We explained that we didn't want to be a part of any stress for him, just wanted him to know we are taking things seriously. He appreciated that. We let him know we would be ready when they are and would touch base with them again end of this next week.
