      What an awful experience, Lack of organization, very deceptive about their pricing, Spoke with the owner and he was very dismissive. Conveniently everyone I worked with was fired. After I paid $4000.00 I was told I would receive engineered plans that I could could submit to my county. Nope, After I paid 6 week later they came out an said I need to put 30% down on the building before I would receive these plans. I paid for engineered plans and they will not give them out until I pay a deposit on the building. Again this was not mentioned to me until after I paid for the engineered plans. Very unorganized. Very deceitful. I even spoke with the Owner of the company (Juan) and he was very dismissive of what I said to him. All he said is that you signed the contract. Over and over again. Even though I'm not happy with the service I received. He will not refund me the money I paid. I have not completed any portions of these plans, I am still on step 1. This has been about 6 weeks since I paid for my plans. I guess they need the money more than I do. By the look of all the other reviews, They do need the money. Ton of other negative reviews. Wish I could give you the play by play of my experience but I run out of space in the comment box.

      I tried to purchase building plans with the intent to buy the complete building from them. A week after paying the $3000 for the plans I was sent a questioner asking what all I wanted in the house as far as size and finishes. I returned the forms. About a month later I contacted them to follow up. They sent me the exact same forms to fill out. I filled them out again. I gave them another week to draw up the plans. I contacted them again only to be ignored. I have contacted them for a refund only to have them ignore me more. I contacted them a second time requesting a refund, at this time they mentioned "no work had been done on the project" and they wanted a **** call for some reason. I have contacted my bank in an effort to dispute the charges.

      Please do not use this company. Listen to the complaints everywhere. They are dishonest with their business practices. They advertise as turnkey, but the price you pay is ONLY for plans and absolutely nothing else outside of that. Once you pay they have no obligation to follow through on anything else. There are many online reviews from actual customers who are now out of thousands of dollars and back at square one. This company is unprofessional, incompetent, and deceitful with their practices. I would avoid them like the plague and if you do fall victim to them please voice it online so others can be warned.

      Colt Buildings LLC is the steel distributor for steel frame structures. Our business model does offer secondary services of architectural design services and facilitation of general contracting services across 50 states. We only utilize these services once our clients have agreed to these terms. Contracts are in place and all clients must sign these prior to starting the building process. During your initial meeting with your building consultant, they would have given you a quote on the steel structure that would be used as the "shell or frame" of your custom-built home. At the end of that consultation, you would have received the option to pay for your design plans. This would include your 2D floorplans - 3D floorplans - Roof Pitch - Elevations - Electrical plans - Plumbing plans - HVAC plans & Window/Door scheduling. Your invoice pricing reflects those plans only. Most plans like ours can run $10,000 +. This is why we are proud that our pricing is at huge savings to our clients! Turn Key builds, which means that the entire home would be completed, would include you paying for everything else separately. Any misunderstandings regarding the flow of the building process should not be placed solely upon us. Especially, since we include a 12-step process in all paperwork, marketing materials, and website.
