The more we pay the more there is to pay. Asked for a Copy of agreement they refused and threatened with repossession. There is a possibility of fraud because neither one of us could afford the payment and cannot refinance it. They are also running our credit without our knowledgeBusiness Response

In 2020 I had taken a loan out with regional finance from a furniture store located in Fayetteville, NC for roughly 3k. Within the end of the next year I had paid the loan in full or so i thought. It turned out that i had actually paid an extra $600 because the company had never corrected the amount that had been repaid. To this day 8/13/2023 they are trying to tell me that i still owe this money and that it will soon be negative on my credit report. I have spoken with assistant manager Natasha and her supervisor Whitney about the issue. Natasha was and is helpful with the situation but said he can handle only so much of the issue as far as money being returned to me. I sent both Natasha and Whitney all my statements digitally from my bank Navy Federal and they claimed multiple times that they couldnt read them while i was deployed in germany which was a 8 hour time difference. So they insisted on calling my wife to resolve the issue but they wouldn't give her full details while expecting her to pay the money. They had no reason to call her being i am the one who took out the loan in the first place. From what ive heard Whitney has not communicated with her assistant manager Natasha as after i sent Whitney the new "legible" non high lighted statements i never got a call or email about them receiving the documents or if they had further discussed the situation. I had to call numerous other Regional finance offices to attempt to get in touch with them and even that was a struggle. Eventually, about a month ago now i contacted the corporate number for regional finance in which the gentlemen i spoke with gave me an email he supposedly checked everyday to send all my bank statements in which i did ([email protected]). I never received a phone call back from this person either. I have tried every avenue to work with this business and figure out this issue but they seem set on not helping me and receiving more money on top of a bad credit report.Business Response

Re: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Complaint 20475901
Dear Mr. ***********
I am writing in response to the complaint that you filed with the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) dated August
17, 2023. Regional Finance Corporation of North Carolina (“Regional”) appreciates the opportunity to address
your concerns. At Regional, we truly value our customers’ satisfaction and will work toward the resolution of
any issues.
In your complaint, you state that you believed you paid off a Regional loan in your name, even paying an extra
$600. You further state that Regional claims that you still owe a balance and although you have attempted to
work with several individuals to resolve the issue, you received no assistance.
According to Regional’s records, you originated the loan in question, ending in 6579, on July 22, 2019. On
March 21, 2023, Regional’s investigation confirmed that two payments were made by your spouse with the
intention of paying off the loan. However, the amount paid did not fully resolve the balance. Branch team
members attempted to reach out to you to discuss the payoff but were unable to reach you and were informed
that you were deployed overseas. Regional also confirmed that your spouse did provide bank statements that
confirmed the two payments made on March 21, 2023, however, they were unable to be clearly read. Regional
attempted to acquire more legible copies but was unsuccessful at the time. Team members were able to reach
your spouse while you were unavailable and provided an explanation regarding the daily-accruing interest on
the account, also explaining that an early payoff would result in a lesser total paid back. Please reference the
enclosed Payment History Report, which outlines the breakdown of each payment’s application towards the
principle, interest, fees, etc. As a courtesy, Regional has agreed to waive the remaining balance on your loan,
reversing the charge off and closing the account as paid. Please allow 5-7 weeks for the update to be reflected
on your credit report.
We appreciate your business and would like to thank you for choosing Regional for your financial needs.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. ******:
I am writing in response to the above-referenced complaint that you filed with the Better Business Bureau
(“CFPB”) dated May 23, 2023. Regional Finance Corporation of Texas (“Regional”) appreciates the opportunity
to address your concerns. At Regional, we truly value our customers’ satisfaction and will work toward the
resolution of any issues.
In your complaint, you state you are not responsible for payment of an account with Regional and you do not
have a contract with the company. As a result, you are requesting an update to your credit report to ensure that
accurate information is provided to the credit bureaus.
Regional’s records indicate that the loan ending in **** was originated in your name on August 27, 2015, in the
amount of $2,000.00, to finance the purchase of furniture at the ****** ********* located in Live Oak, TX.
Please see the enclosed response to your request for validation of the debt along with a copy of the original loan
contract. The account ending in **** was charged off and sold due to non-payment on March 31, 2018, to *****

Regional’s record also indicate that the account ending in **** was originated in your name on June 8, 2016 in
the amount of $562.03. Please see the enclosed response to your request for validation of the account ending in
**** along with a copy of the original loan contract. Regional has confirmed that the aforementioned accounts
are reporting correctly to the credit bureaus and is contractually obligated to report accurate account information
to the credit bureaus according to the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) Therefore, it is
unable to remove and/or update the tradelines associated with the accounts at this time. Finally, Regional located
a third account ending in ****, which was originated in your name on October 23, 2015, and has deleted the

Re: Better Business Bureau Complaint ID ********
Dear Mr. ******:
I am writing in response to the rebuttal submitted in association with the above-referenced complaint that
you filed with the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) dated May 23, 2023. Regional Finance Company of
Texas, *** (“Regional”) appreciates the opportunity to address your concerns. Regional, truly values our
customers’ satisfaction and will work toward the resolution of any issues.
In your rebuttal, you state that according to your credit report, the account in question was purchased by
********* ******* ******** *** and there are two balances appearing under your credit profile for one
account. You further state that Regional is illegally reporting the account to consumer reporting agencies
(“Credit Bureaus”) and can longer report the account because it was sold to a third party. Finally, you
state that there is a discrepancy between your credit report and the documents provided to you by
Regional regarding the account balance in the amount of $3.00. As a result, you are requesting that
Regional delete the tradeline associated with the account in question to ensure that it no longer appears on
your credit report.
Please review the enclosed copy of your credit history, which includes loan information reported by the
three credit reporting agencies (“Credit Bureaus”) as it correlates to each account originated in your name
with Regional. Please note that the account ending in **** was sold to ***** ******* **********
*********** *** and subsequently transferred to ***** ********* *********** *** (“*****”).
Regional could not validate that the account ending in **** is now owned by Jefferson Capital Systems,
***. Please be advised that Regional is contractually required to report accurate account information to
the Credit Bureaus according to the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) regardless of
charge off/sold status. Therefore, it is unable to remove the tradeline associated with the account to ensure
that it no longer reports to the Credit Bureaus at this time. Additionally, the account ending in ****
reflects a balance of $586.00 on your credit report because Regional furnishes customers’ account
information to the Credit Bureaus on a monthly basis and one month in arrears. Hence, the account
balance was $3.00 less at the time of Regional’s most recent submission of account data to the Credit
Bureaus in April 2023. Please be aware that balances on charged off accounts continue to increase as
interest accrues, resulting in the reporting of a higher balance, which will appear on your credit report
when Regional submits account information to the Credit Bureaus for May 2023. Regional would like to
reiterate that it has confirmed that the accounts are reporting correctly to the Credit Bureaus.
We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Regional for your financial needs.
Sincerely,
Karie *. M*****

I got a check in mail from Reginal Finance of 4,000.00 in Nov. 2022, which I cashed and my payment each month was to be 147.66 however I have been making payments of 200.00 each month. However I have a balance of 3,861.30 which I called to find out what the interest is and how much is going to Principal. I have gotten 3 different stories, to say the least. One man tells me nothing goes to Principal cause they are not a bank, 2nd person tells me the minority goes to interest of 29.99 but the rest does go to Principal but depends on how much I give every month due to the interest changes. She also added if I give more it won't go to that month but will roll over to following month which means, they are not applying it to the principal but subtracting it from my next month payment. Why? I don't want that. So I called corporate office., spoke to Ms. Joanie and I explained my situation but she said the interest is actually 31.55 but said that if I pay more it goes to interest and couldn't tell me what amount I would have to pay to have 200.00 apply to interest and if I paid the amount of 147.66 plus 200$ she couldn't say if this would help to give more to interest. I have this loan for 48 months, and trying to give more to pay off but it looks like I've only paid 138.70 for the 3 past months. Ms Joannie said that in Dec. 101.06 went to interest and 98.94 went to principal however since I gave more it would apply to Jan. 2023. Why would the difference be applied to January if I paid it in Dec. Same thing for February. What I have noticed is that my payment lowers on their end but I continue to pay 200.00 as in this mo. She ended the call by saying she couldn't figure out how much I she give to help me but not to worry, because as long as I give more, I'll pay it off sooner. I'm sorry but this response is not justifying by question as to why does it show my Bal. of 3861.30. and the difference of payment supposed to be applied for that month, and only lowing next mo. Pymt.Customer Answer
Date: 03/03/2023
Good morning,I received the documents regarding my concerns about the payments I'm making; I read them and I guess I have to be satisfied with their explanation, it doesn't answer my question as to why the amount I am paying for that month isn't applied but goes to following month., and the balance doesn't make sense to me as to what it is reflecting on my account vs payments I've made. But, I will not pursue it any further. I thank you for your time in looking into this matter.Thank you again,****** ** ******Business Response

Re: Better Business Bureau Complaint ID ********
Dear Ms. ******:
I am writing in response to the complaint that you filed with the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) dated
February 28, 2023. Regional Finance Corporation of Texas, LLC (“Regional”) appreciates the opportunity
to address your concerns. At Regional, we truly value our customers’ satisfaction and will work toward the
resolution of any issues.
In your complaint, you state you received a convenience check from Regional in November 2022 and
originated a loan by depositing the instrument. You further state you have been making monthly payments
in larger amounts than what is required according to the loan agreement but believe that your account
balance has not decreased significantly. Finally, you state you spoke with different Regional employees
regarding the account balance and received conflicting explanations as to how your payments are applied
to the account in question. As a result, you request that Regional provide you with an accurate summary to
gain an understanding of how interest accrues and how your payments are applied to your account.
Regional’s records indicate you originated a precomputed loan ending in **** by way of convenience
check on November 10, 2022, for a total amount due of $4,100.00. A precomputed loan is a loan where the
interest for the term of the loan is calculated at origination and included in the account balance vs. being
calculated as payments are made. Monthly payments on pre-computed loans are calculated by dividing the
total loan balance by the loan term and the account balance decreases by the amount of the payment as
payments are received. Payments are not applied separately to principal and interest because the account
balance already includes both principal and interest. In the event the loan is paid off early, all unearned
interest is refunded by subtracting it from the account balance. The payoff amount is the remaining account
balance, minus the refund of unearned interest plus any unpaid fees and charges, such as late charges. Please
review the enclosed copy of the loan instrument along with the attached disclosures and note that by
providing your signature to the document, you agreed to and acknowledged your understanding of the terms
of the loan. Please be advised that your concerns have been brought to the attention of management and
addressed with branch personnel to ensure that employees can easily explain how payments are applied to
customer accounts in the future. Should you have additional concerns regarding your account, please
contact the branch directly at (915) ********.
Regional appreciates your business and would like to thank you for choosing Regional for your financial

Better Business Bureau,
I’m very upset! How is this even legal? How does a company send a check to an address of a residence that never request for such thing. Then puts its on someone credit report that has no knowledge of it and expect a person to fight and cause stress. I dealing with a sick grandfather and I have to fight to get this removed. And pay for paperwork to get mailed and notarize this is beyond insane. Mail carriers steal mail all the time and people like me who have been apart identity theft could have got information stolen and open accounts in there names like I have. I’ve never wrote a check and never had any knowledge about some check being send to me I want this remove this is not right and on top of that getting multiple calls a day from this company.I’m beyond upset and this has my anxiety and stress level up the roof .

I have had difficult financial time. My rent increased to $600 per month. I was not able to pay other obligations timely.
I tried to make arrangements with Regional. They were congenial as always, but when my apt lease expired and I tried to make a payment, the account had been sold to a collection agency.
Neither the local branch or Corporate can tell me who it was sold to. I would just like to know the name of the agency so that I can take care of my obligation to Regional. The company operates a recorded line, to verify my encounters.
I have been trying to make a payment since 12/30/22.
Thank youBusiness Response
