I needed to get my dog spayed. I called around to many vet offices gathering information. I asked for dates available for the procedure to be done, what was required, and the price. When I spoke with this particular clinic, they were a bit higher than others, but they could get her in very quickly. I was told that all she would have to have is bordatella and rabies vaccinations to have the spay. I expressed concerned about her losing fur and she said that it could be a skin infection and that if it was, they would not do the surgery. We talked in length about all of this. I told her that the day they could do the surgery was a day I had to work and that I would have to have someone drop her off and pick her up for me. Due to this, I needed an accurate price estimate so I could send the money. I was told it would be about $400 total for the vaccinations and the spay. Imagine my surprise when I found out they charged me almost double, over $700! After she was already there, suddenly they decided that she had to have an exam before they could do the surgery. They tested her for heartworm and all sorts of things that was NEVER once mentioned to me and I did not consent to this. They also found that she did in fact have a skin infection. Yet they did the surgery anyway when we had already discussed that it would not be done if she had one. She had already had her exam and heartworm tests and ***** and all that done at another clinic as well which they never once asked about and never said she needed so I had no clue that I needed to inform them of this. They said she just needed bordatella and rabies vaccines and she was good to go on the surgery as long as no skin infection was present. My mom who picked her up tried discussing with them but they were extremely rude and unprofessional. They were the same way when I called. The vet herself FINALLY called me back after MANY calls there and basically said too bad, so sad. They were wrong but they aren't giving a refund.
