    I noticed a couple of negative reviews below. I have used several different vets in different states where I have lived before moving to Hartsville 3 years ago. I think that this group of vets is as good as any I have used before. Sometimes they are busy -- I think that means many other people are satisfied as well.

    The professionalism at Hartsville Animal Hospital stinks. I had an emergency with my senior dog after being told I had to change heart worm meds. I changed my dogs meds and 2 days after her being on the meds she had some kind of black out episode. I called the emergency number was told to be at the vets office at 7am and someone would be there. The vet didn't see me until 2 hours later. By that time my girl was back to normal. I took her back a week later and asked to have her put back on Heartgard Plus, the vet refused to give me a prescription and continued to belittle and bully me. Saying, "Not to be morbid or anything but your dog is old and aging and you don't want to admit it." My animals are tested every year and for 14 years has been on the same heart meds with no issues. The way this vet handled me as a customer and the lack of care he showed I would NEVER recommend this vet!

    I have been bringing my dogs to hartsville animal hospital for all of their needs for going on 5 years now. I took my dog Nico for an annual and last time I brought him I agreed to the heartworm shot and it was only for 6months. Today they asked me if I wanted to get him a heartworm shot and I agreed thinkin they were giving him the same as last time. When I went to cash out my bill was almost 500$! So I asked the girl why it costed so much and without eye contact and seems like she was frustrated based off my question and answered me short with it goes by his weight that’s why it costed so much. So then I stated he weighed more the last time he was there so wasn’t sure how it cost 150$ this time? So she proceeded to tell me it’s for the pro now mind you I didn’t know there was a difference and no one explained that to me they just went along with it until I got upset because I had to argue with the 2 girls at the front desk and it was ok for them to talk to me like a child and get loud with me but as soon as I got louder then they called he cops!!!!! I asked repeatedly for my receipt stated that they want me to leave but I’m not leaving until I get my shit. I don’t appreciate how I was treated and I fee that I got swindled I never agreed to a year supply of heartworm shot I’m never bringing my animals back there again! I have NEVER. Dealt with so much ignorance and disrespect in a vet office in my life……
