A bill was sent for services that have yet to be provided. Bill was received may 1 2023 and once we proved to Clark’s no one had come out, they continued to send past due notices. They now state that they pre bill for service and that we did not cancel service in time despite the fact that they have yet to show up on site. I would doubt that paying for service 45 days prior is customary.

Performance and service personnel have deteriorated over the past 12 months. I have called to ask a supervisor to call or the company president. The people answering the phones are ineffective. When they dropped my appt. they told me sometimes appts. fall off the books. I have given feedback on poor performance and requested not to have a service person again. I had an appt. yesterday between 4-6 pm. The tech called at 4 pm to say she would arrive in 15 min. I had raced home from Daniel Island to James Island to be in time for this appt. 15 min later at 4:15 pm she called to say she wasn't coming. Since she was a tech I had requested NOT to have I wasn't surprised at the very last minute cancellation. This year they started billing before service was even performed! They schedule treatment appts. without advance notice. I cancelled them by email and voicemail this morning - 7:30 am more than the 15 min. advance notice they gave me. I have wasted so much time with them this past year I want nothing more to do with them. I spoke with them this morning and have confirmed cancellation, no payment due for anything and again was told they would email me a confirmation of credit card removed from file and ) no balance going forward. FYI it's 8:40 am and no text for arrival of my GUARANTEED 8am appt and again a no show - which is fine by me. IN CASE THEY TRY TO BILL ME GOING FORWARD I HAVE REMOVED MY CREDIT CARD.

They have failed to show up for an annual termite inspection. One date was charged without my knowledge. The second time they scheduled on Mothers Day. We couldn’t do that one I called and cancelled. I have tried a number of times to contact them and left messages but no reply. Are they still in business? They need to contact me. I would like to have an adjustment on the service call.

Long-term customer of Clark's Termite and Pest Control. Level of service expectations has declined dramatically over the past several months, but most recent termite inspection report was falsified. Report claimed a comprehensive inspection of traps and crawl space completed, yet the trap covers were all covered in dirt and the crawl space had been locked. Mike, manager, was to remove bill but never did. Since then all emails (6) and messages (5) have gone unanswered. I am now receiving treats for my bill to go into collections.

Clarks began emailing us about our service renewal on 3/31/23. Upon receiving the notice we began contacting them via email to let them know that we no longer live at the residence. On 3 separate occasions contact was made to them to inform them of our moving from the service address in January of 2023. However, they continued to attempt the service. After numerous emails and phone calls that went unanswered, they then provided us with the termite service and charged us the full amount. Now they are repeatedly sending payment reminders and are wanting us to pay the $299 cost. At this point multiple phone calls, emails, and voicemails have gone unanswered. We would have liked a timely response, and for them to adhere to our requests to not provide the service of a place we no longer live.

I have experienced poor to no service with the new Clarks. I had a termite bond on a newly constructed home since 2014. The new Clarks did not come at all last year for the annual inspection and have not been here yet for this year's inspection, despite multiple calls from me about the matter. Managers continue to promise that the service will be provided, but they do not come. I also had quarterly pest control service. I received a bill for the service, but my home was not treated. I keep receiving threatening emails telling me that I am overdue and will go to collections. Again, I keep speaking to management and I am told that the bill will be voided, since there was no service and the quarterly treatment will be completed along with the annual termite inspection. None of these have taken place. This has been going on for almost 2 years. The telephone staff does not seem to understand their business at all and are unable to assist in any way, except to leave a message for yet another manager to call me.

I had made an appointment for termite control. They had raised the price approx $60 from last bill. I tried to cancel the next day and told I could not since the invoice had been printed. The price increase was my initial reason for canceling the termite service. I cannot get anyone to call me back. I’ve left numerous messages. I was also a recurring client for their quarterly pest control. I plan to cancel my account totally with Clark’s Simply canceling the service the next day was not enough. Their customer service rates a negative with me. All I’m looking for is to get this invoice canceled. I’m now receiving emails that an invoice is unpaid. But as stated, no one answers or returns my calls

On February 22, 2023, Clark's came to our home to perform our annual termite inspection. We were not provided with an invoice for the termite renewal ahead of this, which was not in line with past year's renewals, and we were not advised of the pricing for the renewal. On this date, we gave a check, payable to Clark's in the amount of $299, to the technician who completed the work, for payment in full for the renewal. There was no acknowledgement of receipt on that date, but we anticipated a paid receipt and the inspection report via email as we had received in past years. Several days later, we contacted Clark's to inquire as to proof of payment received and the inspection report, and we were advised that their billing and payment collection processes had changed and that all checks received would be collected at the local office and mailed to their corporate office for deposit at which point we would receive confirmation via email. We were also advised that the inspection report would not be provided until the payment was processed. Further, we were told this process could take between 6 and 8 weeks. Again, we had not been advised ahead of time of the new payment collection procedure, so we were caught off guard by the change; however, we took them at their word and anticipated to have something sent to us within those 6 to 8 weeks. We have contacted Clark's several times between then and today to inquire as to the whereabouts of our check, and despite being advised that the billing department would be in touch, we have received no response. Now we are left feeling like we must stop payment on the check as we believe it may be lost although this will cost us money to do. There is further concern that our check is somewhere out there with out banking information on it, which is even more of a concern. We requested to speak with someone at the management level, but again, we receive no response. It is hard to feel like anyone there cares given the lack of response.

Left voicemail and sent email - Check was not processed or received. We are covering the customer for termite payment of 2023 in full. No payment will be need to cover services this year. Provided all my direct contact information for follow up.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and am hopeful that this is nearing a resolution. You can find attached the email referenced in the company's response (assuming this is the corporate owner of Clark's, but not entirely sure); however, also attached is an invoice we received TODAY saying we still owe a balance and may be assessed additional fees and/or interest. It is very confusing and seems as if the left hand isn't talking to the right. We simply want to receive something that clearly states our account has been adjusted for this year as promised in the company's response. We placed a stop payment on the check now that the company admitted they lost it (without coming right out and saying it). We will save a copy of any fees assessed from that stop payment and anticipate being either reimbursed or having it reduce next year's bill, which we most certainly will not be paying by check. Who knows where our check is at this point, and that is the more concerning part as our banking information has been exposed due to lack of care on the part of Clark's.

      Sincerely,

      ******* *******

Clark's Termite and Pest Control now prebills for services not yet provided and schedules appointments at the end of the previous day for service the next day without my knowledge and without any proper notification. My service is every three months and has never been a problem until they decided to revamp their schedule and place everyone on their new scheduling system regardless of whether it's time for service or not. They have refused to make any adjustments even though my home is sprayed every three months as contracted. It also can't be legal to charge for a service that hasn't been performed. They are not to come on my property to do anything without my permission. One of their employees broke a solar light in my flowerbed and left it for me to replace.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The amount on my account was not owed and should not have been "written off" as if you were erasing a bad debt. I have no current or previous debt with you and no contract for pest control. My contract is for a termite bond only which states that I get "five annual inspections for six years of coverage" which started August 2019. I will schedule as needed if I choose to continue to use your company for pest control service.

At the closing of my home in August of 2022, I received a transfer contract of services with Clark's Termite & Pest Control. I received a bill for $125 which I paid online 8/29/2022. The invoice number is: 297564. The bill to account is 10012334. I desired to terminate the contract not wanting to use their services. I was told I could not because I had not given them 30 days notice. I never signed an agreement only the transfer agreement was given. I would like to know if I am legally binding to use their services? I have attached documents which I hope you will find useful in assisting me. Thank you for your assistance.
