On January 10 we contact Mr. Appliance when we discovered that the washer had filled with water on its own. Victoria from Mr. Appliance came the next day to our address at 266 Mill Stream Road in Lexington. Our current address is in Indiana. However, the Lexington address will be our new permanent home later this summer. Victoria explained the reason the washer had filled on its own was due to grit coming into the water line as a result of the recent hurricane. She said the water valve needed to be replaced along with the suspension rods supporting the tub. She also said the parts would have to be ordered. We were charged 571.82 payable immediately. We returned to Indiana about two weeks later. The parts had not arrived and we indicated we would be back later in March. We were assured the parts would arrive by then and the repairs completed. On Friday, March 28, two service techs from Mr. Appliance replaced the valve and the suspension rods. We were able to do one load of wash. However, when we attempted a second load the washer no longer worked. We called Mr. Appliance that same day and was forwarded to their customer service line. We left several messages on Friday, Saturday, and again on Monday but received no return call. We then contacted Lexington Appliance who promptly replied and set up an appointment. The tech from Lexington Appliance discovered that the suspension bars ordered and replaced by Mr. Appliance were too long. We made telephone requests from Mr. Appliance requesting a refund of the $571.82 bill we had originally paid. Those calls have not be returned. Of course, it would be appropriate to receive some form of refund from Mr. Appliance along with an apology. However, I am sure neither will be forthcoming. Yet I think the BBB of Lexington should be made aware of this situation, the unprofessional manner of the Mr. Appliance support staff, and the poor workmenship of the service techs. Thank you.
