I paid CMT in October 2022 to repair two cracks in my foundation. One was smaller and one was larger. The larger one wasnot fully closed at the time of the repair, mostly but not fully. I called the office the very next day and they said there nothing they could do because I had already patched up the foundation with quick dry concrete. Now, as of 2025, the large crack has split open completely again CNT states they cannot repair it, and states that all they can do is fill the crack with mortar.

Thank you Ms. ******* for allowing us the opportunity to give you clarity that you didn't receive for our meeting yesterday.  Great News!  your home was permanently stabilizes by us in 2022 as I explained to you yesterday the large tree directly next to your home that has roots that are pushing up on the brick Verner (a nonstructural component of your home) Just in case it go t lost in translate, you need to hire an arborist to remove the tree roots that are effecting this portion of your home. Should the organic material decay and cause this area of home to settle it is covered by our lifetime warranty, so you are fully protected. I also at no expense to you and not any part of ours offered to mortar in this crack for you to prevent any moisture or insect to your crawlspace.  That was supposed to happen today, June 13, 25 but as we have had 4" of rain, we will be there Monday to do what we said we would do.  Thank you for your business and the opportunity to clarify our conversation from yesterday.

I am rejecting this response because:
Thank you for reiterating parts of our conversation. I am competent and did understand what you were trying to say the first time.

What I do NOT understand, is if it is because of tree roots, why was this not mentioned when the initial work was done? Or why not mentioned when your colleague came out for the initial assessment? In fact, he said I was going to need a third pillar for approximately $1800.

You also offered to come out and put mortar in the crack, yet that was the exact reason your office told me it couldn’t be fixed when I made my initial complaint in 2022.

Perhaps you and your office could take a little accountability for the fact you have charged me over $5000 and never fully made the repair I was billed for.

      Sincerely,
      Janet *******

Complaint Against CNT Foundation – Breach of Contract, Deceptive Business Practices & Failure to Honor Agreement
Water issue in basement coming in on 3 out of 4 sides of the home. Recommended only installing a French drain and sump pump at the back of the house, stating this would catch all the water and prevent it from reaching the front and side walls. Next heavy rain January 9, 2024, water continued entering the basement from the front and side walls—exactly what we had been assured wouldn’t happen. Immediately sent a dispute letter to CNT’s advertised Greenville address within the five-day dispute window outlined in the contract. However, the letter was returned undeliverable. Then called CNT, and Dave returned for an inspection. My daughter and son-in-law walked him through the basement, reminding him of the previous water damage. Completely changed his story. He now claimed we had agreed to a “partial fix.” Her response was: “Who would knowingly spend over $10,000 to partially fix a water issue!? Shame on you for doing this to an elderly couple." He left and never got back to us.
Then in January 2025, another heavy rain hit, water still came in on all three walls. I took a video showing a paper towel absorbing water from the back wall—the very section they supposedly fixed. Sent the video and photos to Dave, he once again promised to get back to me and never did. For weeks, called Dave repeatedly, no response, Finally scheduled an appt for March 6. He never called or showed up. Called office again, CNT claimed he felt threatened at last visit and would not return. If he felt threatened, wouldn't it have come up after prior appt? Or call the police leaving the house? Said they were voiding the contract to not put employees’ lives in danger by a 78-year-old woman, 84-year-old man, in final stages of life, in a wheelchair, my 56-year-old daughter who did most of the talking and her husband who never spoke.

We performed the scope of work the homeowner requested and agreed to. There are having a different issue in a different area of the home. The attempted to use intimidation tactics on the Estimator when he returned to assess the new issue, which they admit in their statement. We did not void the warranty; we just don't warranty work we didn't do.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/10/2025

I am rejecting this response because:  The original reason for having you come out was to stop the water from coming in on all 3 sides of our home. CNT performed work at the BACK WALL of our home saying that would stop it all. When we had Dave come out again it was because the water was still coming in on the front and side. We are dealing with the fact you will not uphold to what you were supposed to have fixed. When we sent video and photos the last time it was because water IS coming in on the BACK side that you supposedly fixed. We just want the BACK wall, no where else, to be with no water coming in which is where you did do the work. We find it interesting that saying "shame on you for doing this to an elderly couple" is considered using intimidating tactics with him.

      Sincerely,
      Sandra *****

We were originally called out for standing water in the crawlspace. The Estimator proposed a solution to deal with that issue. During the in-home consultation the Estimator asked if there were other issues they wanted him to look at. They expressed a concern with efflorescence on the basement wall. The Estimator proposed a solution for that which included having to tear up part of the basement floor and the bathroom. They were not interested in a solution which required that much demolition. They signed a contract for the work in the crawlspace and we completed that work. The current issue is in an area of the home where we did not do any work.

We stand by our previous statement that we completed the contracted work.

      Customer Answer

CNT continues to say they completed the work. We have a warranty for the work they originally performed. Water is coming into the basement where they originally performed the work. How do we get them to uphold to the warranted area? That is all we are wanting done.

      I hired CNT Foundations to:
*Remove & replace 4 CMUs to lift and permanently stabilize the right side of the front porch.

      * Install two sets of CMUs with 14 feet of drop sill to lift and permanently stabilize the right side of the kitchen. Lifetime Warranty

Work was performed on 8.31.2023 and $11,505.10 was paid for services rendered.

I have attempted to contact the company to have someone come out and look at the piers. The piers are falling forward, pulling the porch flooring away from the house. I called on 1.24.2025 and left a message with the answering service. I called back later that day and spoke to Connor who stated that Lisa was unavailable. Connor said he would give the message to Lisa. I have not received a call. I have found it difficult to get anyone to call me back.

We went to the home to inspect the work. Everything is performing as designed. We showed Mrs. **** a photo from the original appointment in June 2023 and one from last week. Both photos were identical and showed no additional movement. Mrs. **** claimed that we 'doctored' the photos and rejected our assertion that there was no movement to the structure.

On 1/15/2018, we were charged $15,288.00 for repairing the foundation in our home. Among the paperwork we received, there is a document that states that "CNT Foundations has the most comprehensive warranty in the industry. All of our piers come with a lifetime transferable warranty. No strings attached! .In another section they also state that they are " The only company with a 100% lifetime transferable warranty."
About a year ago, we began noticing that the floor in the kitchen (one of the areas treated) had started to sink. We had also previously notice that the floor in another room, the drop sill that they allegedly installed was bowing significantly. Given that they reported a lifetime warranty, I proceeded to contact them to tell them about the issue and request if they could come look at the issue. It took me about three phone calls to finally get in contact with Chane, the production manager, who then proceeded to arrange for someone to come on March 17th. Craig came on that day, looked at two areas of the house. and explained to my husband that in the area of the kitchen the issue was the beam needed to be shimmed and additional support needed to be added to the exterior wall of the kitchen. the second area had a bow in the drop sill and that he would come the following Monday to add a steel member to replace the bowed 4 X 6. My husband took off work that day to meet with him and further look into the issues of the foundation. He never came and never called.
I called to ask when Craig was going to come and spoke with a lady that said would find out what happened and would call me back the next day. She never called back. My husband called a couple days ago and talked to man who identified himself as the owner of the company (My husband cannot recall his name), and he stated that they couldn't lift it (Which was not what was being asked for them to do) and left it at that. they have not even tried to contact us to resolve this issue.

The customer reached out to CNT regarding their perception the floors had moved. The Production Manager sent a team member out to assess the situation when we had a crew in the area. The Crew member assessed the work we completed and found that the CMU was tight to the woodwork. In other words, it had not moved. The customer was not satisfied with the answer and asked what else may be possible. The Production Manager set up an additional time to try and meet with the homeowner when he was also in the area. He tried to call the homeowner, and left a message, but the homeowner didn’t respond. Days later the homeowner and Production Manager spoke, and the homeowner said they didn’t answer because it was an unfamiliar number. The work which we did for this home is in the same condition today, as the day we performed the installation. Their perception of movement is not supported by the facts of our visual assessment.
