If I could rate them less than a one star I would. Not only do they lie and deny - they are dishonest. I specifically chose them because they listed charities where they would bring our donated items. According to the workers - that was a joke.
The worst part was they left a huge hole in our wall, damaged wood and scraped other areas because the men moving the furniture did not have the knowledge or the equipment to move the heavy furniture (which I had listed in my request). All of this happened 5 days before we were moving from our sold house! When speaking with the manager - he was going to send someone to fix it one day before another moving company was coming. When I found this unacceptable (after many heated words), he agreed to refund me $250.00 to cover the expense of repairs.
The credit never appeared (made several calls/texts) so I disputed it with my credit card company. We were issued the refund - BUT only after I submitted pictures showing the damage and their refusal to remit the credit BECAUSE the "hunk" company lied to them stating I was upset because they wouldn't take additional items that they had not quoted for!
DO NOT USE this company EVER!College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

I called and was given a quote of $199 and told I had to pay $120 to schedule. The $120 was non-refundable if I canceled otherwise the $120 would be deducted from the $199 and I would just owe the balance the day of. She sent me a link I paid, she said a link would be sent the day of for me to pay the balance. 3 movers showed up they wanted all my card info on paper and they said my balance was the full $199 I told them what I was quoted and asked about the link so they called their boss he sent me a link for the $79 and said he would only charge me what I was quoted. The movers asked me to tip them in cash so they wouldn’t have to wait. I told them I don’t carry cash but I would tip them on my card. They asked if I had a cash app so I could tip each of them now, I said I do not. They needed to move a head board and 2 dressers downstairs and an armoir and dresser upstairs. They moved the headboard first. They dented my walls all the way down and tore off the ceiling in the stairwell. They dropped one end of head board and the other leg scratched my wood floors and flew and hit the hall closet door. The impact dented the door on the front and made it separate from the bottom. My door is broken and my 17 year old head board acrylic top broke off cracked and broke off 1/3 of the frame. My walls have deep indentions and will need to be filled in and then painted. My wood furniture is scratched in multiple places. I called and filed a complaint bc they were completely careless and fought with each other the entire time. Swearing and yelling. No apologies nothing. Most of which is all on video as I was charging my cameras for outside in the house while they were moving. The manager wrote that I refused to pay so they closed my complaint without contacting me. The damage to my home and furniture is more than what I was quoted and paid and they outright lied and closed my file without ever contacting me. I called and the local manager refuses to speak with meCollege HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

Unfortunately, I will not be recommending the Co associated with College Hunks, SW Simmons Moving, who actually moved us through CHs. The movers were fine & are to be commended for their work HOWEVER, the administration/mgr/has been awful. They overcharged us, according to the paperwork copy given us. We have tried to remedy this with THREE phone calls, been promised a resolution and refund of money and neither has happened. Resulting in making an already difficult move much more frustrating and stressful. I am still waiting for the management, whoever they may be (since the phone receptionist refuses to give either a name or number) to remedy the situation and make it right. I did also tell the people I spoke to that the mgr can leave a message and to please do so. Crickets!College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

NIGHTMARE! We had a confirmed time for 8/05/23 11am-1pm. This was verified in office x 2 and a text message. I arrived at point of origin by 10:00am on 8/05/23. 1:00pm came and no truck. 1st call to college Hunks answered by a call center in the Philippines. They acknowledged our date & time stating they would send a message to local manager to call or text with an ETA. After a half hour passed & no response, my wife called from her phone so I could keep my phone free. She was told the same thing by a person at the call center in the Philippines that a message was sent to the local manager requesting a call with an ETA. A total of five phone calls were made over an 6 hour period requesting a call back to no avail. The last call at 5:30pm, I cancelled the whole booking. We are now left in a lurch because we had to be out by the end of the weekend. Thankfully I was able to book with another local company, West Weight Moving, which were able to come out the next day...SUNDAY... and move all our belongings. These are the folks you want here in the Charleston SC area! Here is the kicker... once the other company loaded us up on Sunday @ 10:30am I get a call from College Hunk driver stating they are 30 minutes away. I said "No! You were suppose to be here yesterday!" This company is unprofessional, disorganized and disrespectful to this veteran. Do not trust your precious needs to this company and be left hanging like my wife and I were.... No respect, no courtesy, no kindness.

Tzhean-Tarzan and William C. recently helped me move into my new apartment and made the transition incredibly smooth. They were both very professional and I was amazed at how seamlessly they loaded and unloaded my boxes. I did not have much to move- but I did anticipate loading my boxes would take around 30 minutes, however, they got it done in under 15 minutes. They even helped me assemble my bed, which would NOT be completed without their help! When I move in the future, I am definitely giving them a call. The only complaint I have is that they were about half an hour late. However, they did give us a call to make us aware. This was not their fault, as they were helping another client move in. But, I do think that more time should be built into each mover's schedule in order to complete the move and give them time to get to the next location. Therefore, no one would have to wait and they would not have to rush over. Thank you again Tzhean-Tarzan and William C.!College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

Two months ago I had College Hunks (aka Simmons moving) move me from Mt Pleasant to Greenville SC. The quote of $1622.25 included two men, truck and travel fees. The quote was for 10.75 hours but the job was done in 7.50.
I paid $345 to reserve my spot. Then the bill came! Custom amount= $1622.25 3 hunks 4 hours Mon-Thur x 2 = $1724.00 far drive fee= $430.
Montez refused to tell me what the overcharge was for. As a single woman alone in the apartment with 3 strange men I felt pressured to pay whatever they asked.
I called 843-xxx-**** to get answers. This was the number of the man who called to let me know that the movers were on their way and that they had arrived.
Montez said I don't know David Corrigan. (the name associated with that number). Maybe it was Jeffery Johnson? Whomever it was he was very rude and in a nasty tone of voice told me that he wasn't there and didn't know why I was being double charged.
I filed with my credit card because I was hoping that their lawyers would help me. They didn't.
So I have now been swindled out of $4121.25 to move out of a 704 square foot apartment! I could have loaded a U-Haul myself with everything I own. I would have only needed help with the sofa, mattress and 4 other items that weigh over 40 pounds ( my Limit).
I have called the phone number listed on the web site three times. Supposedly someone is supposed to call me back.
I have posted my review everywhere and encourage others to do the same.College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

I had contracted Collage Hunks to move one large and a few smaller pieces 2 miles. The large piece required a six man crew which was stipulated up front. While an estimate was created for 4 hours, because I pushed back, I was assured that we would only pay for the time we used. I was unfortunately not able to be available on the day of the move. My wife arrived and waited for almost an hour with half the crew before the full crew arrived to be able to start the job. Nothing happened while they waited and once the full crew arrived the job took less than 2 hours. We were charged $1,130 for two hours which was almost $300 more than the time used and coincidentally exactly their estimated price. We got gamed.College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

Beware of SC AREA Simmons moving/College Hunks moving!. S******* who will overcharge and take advantage of widowed women and charge 8.25 hours for 2.75 hours of work. I will never work with these movers again and will make sure everyone knows how unprofessional they are. The movers show up and smell like skunk weed and smoke their vape pens during move.they make comments that are unprofessional. They lie and say they took items back on truck that they did not - charging hundreds of dollars for that fabrication. They are impossible to contact when there is an issue that you got overcharged and you have to have a man in your family contact them to finally get answers.
Ladies beware, go elsewhere. You will be charged thousands for a 2 hour job and told “ I was supposed to charge more but ill let it slide”. Spread the word, Simmons moving through College Hunks will overcharge and scam women. I used them twice, first time my dad was there and everything went well. This second time it was just me and I was charged 3 Timesbthe cost for less work involved. Funny how a woman got screwed over but the man didn't. Also multiple items scratched, broken or bent during move and floor scratched as well. Run for from these guys!College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

College Hunks Moving Company is the Worst Moving Company! Do Not hire them! Scam! Incompetent! Never call you back! 6 months and they tell ME to contact them! You get a b******* operator and 1-800 number. They charged me for two moves and took 5 men to move a one bedroom apartment over 9 hours!
They were 2 hours late then sent 2 small trucks of which one was a junk removal truck too small to move me so the scam is come back again to complete the move. They came back the following Monday and I was charged twice. The move was double the price they quoted me. No return call ever from local movers just your remote worker who say they will get on dispatch??? Shame on this moving company! I still tipped the workers and bought them lunch but they had no real supervisor. I had to pay a handyman to put my bed back together even though that was accounted for in the contract. So many things were broken. All the items were just piled up seriously to the ceiling! I packed everything all they had to do is pick it up and put it in the room where it was clearly marked.
It’s obvious no one was even trained at all they just hire anyone off the street. This is a franchise out of Tampa Florida and they pay to use this name and hide behind it. They are actually Simmons Moving Company off of Cross Country Rd in North Charleston.
They do not use a full-size moving van that is the root of the problem. All of this could’ve been avoided if they had done so or called for another truck. That is why it’s a scam.College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving

As a retired corporate executive with multiple cross country moves, this is by far the my most unprofessional moving experience. This complaint is not for financial restitution/recovery, as the damages are not consequential. Simple fact, the movers broke a ceiling fan globe by lifting a chair overhead. No big deal until you actually file a simple claim. Noteworthy is that after contacting College Hunk's national customer service line (no less than 4 times), the complaint is referred back to the unprofessional local franchise ( Simmons in N. Charleston). The initial complaint to Simmons was met with an unprofessional manager conversation. Zero customer skills, and not at all " customer concerned". It did end with an apology and agreement to replace the fan globe. The move was October 31, 2022 and it is now January 4, 2023. This is not complicated; however, correspondence is no longer answered by Simmons only stating prior to XMAS that the order is pending "Amazon delivery confirmation". This is not possible as the part is only available from Lowes Corporation by special order as a Lowes' exclusive fan. This part number was researched by myself and provided to the mover. I have now ordered the $ 35.00 part myself, and only state this fact for those that may actually consider the impact of a substantial financially impactful move. What I find extremely disturbing is that the College Hunks' national customer service representatives do not or can not provide a corporate headquarters contact for complaints not handled by their franchised agents. The only offered assistance after 4 calls directed the complaint back to the local franchise. Please note the employee that broke the fan globe acknowledged his fault and asked that I file a claim. I witnessed the breakage as it occurred. Caveat emptor ( buyer beware), as this is not a company that I will personally or otherwise do business with again. Their handling of the issue is simply awful.College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving
