I rescued a dog from Chester County Animal Control that was under the care of Topgun Veterinarian Services. I was told when I rescued her that she was up to date on everything, and all I needed to do was continue her preventative meds until she was due again for shots. I decided to have Topgun continue her care since they already had her records. BIG MISTAKE! They put my dog on a flea and tick only preventative but told me it covered everything a dog needed in a preventative. Needless to say i was shocked when my dog tested positive for heartworms. I asked to speak to the vet but was denied. The receptionist/vet tech that i did get to speak with basically called me a liar when i explained to her what had happened. She said there was no way to prove that their vet tech lied to me about the preventative and all i could do was bring my dog in, have the same tests done again so the vet would know how to treat my dog. This is extremely upsetting because I would not be in this situation if I hadn't been lied to by their staff. My dog is the one who has to suffer because of their negligence.

This dog was adopted from Chester County Animal Control. We have only ever saw her one single time at a popup rabies clinic that ************** hosts with us. This was on 6/12/24. Chester County gave her Bravecto to treat fleas and ticks. We told her she could continue that medication for fleas and ticks. We have not seen this dog for a wellness appointment or given her a heartworm test therefore, we could not have given her heartworm medication without a negative test. When she called Topgun the owner was never called a lair. She was told she could bring the dog in for an exam and declined. We had no records from her other than the rabies vaccine we administered at the low-cost rabies vaccine clinic.

Topgun Veterinarian Service, LLC, the tech made a mistake by giving me false information and then calling me a liar. Instead of apologizing and making things right you want to charge us for more services. I have documented everything and will file a complaint the state. Hopefully this doesn't happen to other pet owners.
