Poor Customer Service and Technical Incompetence
I pay for a service provided to me. MarketBeat has a problem with their paid service not working correctly. Over the last year I have submitted no less than 12 technical report tickets for a problem with their website. This is a critical issue as their system has access to my stock portfolio. They are supposed to import my data so I can make timely decisions on when to buy, sell or hold stocks and when stocks are paying dividends. Not only it isn't doing what it's supposed to be doing, but their technical support refuses to FIX IT, The portfolio import tool finally quit working all together on 3/10/2023. I tried to unlink my portfolio and it wont work. I have cancelled my subscription, however it worries me tremendously that a service that doesn't have the technical competence to provide what I pay them for has access to my portfolio in any manner and has no customer support. Could this service be a scam?

Marketbeat.com continues to send solicitation emails despite unsubscribing and filling out their form to never be contacted. It's multiple emails per day. Almost 10 today so far.

I have not received an email since 1/22/23. It seems as if the unsubscribe worked, but not quickly.

    Hi,

Use the website as research for a couple of stocks, but have been getting flooded with emails from MarketBeat and it's sister companies (**************, other MarketBeat writers). Would like to get rid of this ASAP - unnecessary spam.

Not really sure what happened here, I used this company to view a couple equities I was looking to buy. There was a subscription wall that I somehow linked my ****** account to. Since then I've received many many spam emails, and even worse, my ****** account has been attacked every couple days now. I have tried to contact this ******** company multiple times, you can't talk to anyone. This is beyond ridiculous - I don't even know what I need to do now.

Hi, I have never sign up nor heard of MarketBeat, yet this company started sending spam emails to me about six weeks ago; although I use ******* report a spam feature to report the site and tried to unsubscribe all its mails once from its website, the MarketBeat keep sending more spams afterwards, not only from MarketBeat, but its partner sites.

If MarketBeat is a legit company, then its business tactic is extremely unprofessional and disgusting, why would people trust a company w/o business etiquette with their own financial goals?

It'd be extremely helpful, for BBB to enforce and end this type of misbehavior by this ******** company.

    Thanks.

    Hi Tony,

Thanks for reaching out. We are a legit company and have a great long-standing reputation in the industry. We follow all policies regarding email delivery and anti-spam, including CAN-SPAM Act and GDPR compliance. If you wouldn't mind, please contact us at ********************** and we'd be happy to discuss this further.

    Thanks!

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As I mentioned, I never sign up for this company's email or newsletter; they started sending numerous emails w/o my consent, if this is not spam, what is it?

Thus, it is a shame for this business reply saying they are legit company and ask me to contact them to "discuss this further"...

I have no interest about this company nor wish to "discuss" with them, when they can simply stop all the spams from their site.

It's simple, no further discussion required.

    Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/08/23) */
You likely received emails from MarketBeat because you visited/engaged with our website/services. I looked up your email address in our system and went ahead and unsubscribed you from receiving any further emails.

    Thanks!

    Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/08/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
"You likely received emails from MarketBeat because you visited/engaged with our website/services."

?? This reply is absurd, especially I never visit this company's website; yet this responds is simply saying that the company is tracking all visitors' IP & email address, then start sending email/spams to those who never sign up for?!

How can such company call itself: "We are a legit company and have a great long-standing reputation in the industry."

When they just spam people who visit their website?

Neverless, thanks for taking the effort to remove my email from your system.

    Thanks.

Started receiving emails from Marketbeat (never even heard of them) and realized there was an account under my email. Tried to see how I can delete that account, but there was no way to delete my own account, and I couldn't find a way contact someone to delete it for me.

I've successfully unsubscribed from MarketBeat several times, but I still get emails from them and their affiliates. I've only subscribed using one email and even after unsubscribing I still get endless emails. It's so frustrating and I wish I never subscribed to them in the first place. I feel like this won't end until I leave a complaint here so they can actually do something about it. I never want to receive another email from MarketBeat again!
