      This is a business. Businesses are in business to make a profit. Unlike anything else you buy, prices are upfront and immediately available. This organization, From my experience stonewalls on pricing, and gives ridiculous numbers that are not even remotely approved by Medicare.

      For ~10 minutes with a Doctor and walking into the Sanford Health building (parking horrible) I got a bill of over $200.

      I called the number given to me for a quote, estimate on the Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia surgery. I received a very detailed cost estimate for Sanford Usd Medical Center which listed a total of $30,161.00 with the warning that “your final billed charges might be different from the expected charges listed”. The estimate asserted that Medicare would pay over $28,624.00 of that bill. There is another part of the estimate, a separate billing from the doctor, listed another $3,321.65 charge and again the estimate asserts Medicare is going to pay $3,193.03 of it. Using that estimate prices of both Medical Center and Doctor fees, an outpatient Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Surgery would cost of total of $33,482.xx

      I went to the Medicare site to look up Approved Surgery Rate for Ingunial Hernia. https://www.medicare.gov/procedure-price-lookup/cost/49650
      Hospital outpatient includes facility and doctor fees.
      Total cost $5,652
      Doctor Fee $440
      Facility Fee $5,212
      Medicare pays $4,521 of the total
      So Sanford Health is going to charge 7.4 times more than the Medicare approved cost for the surgery.
      They make it clear, over and over again that you are responsible for any charges not paid by your insurer.
      I expect I would get a bill of over $28,000 dollars because there is no way Medicare is going to pay the amounts listed on the estimate and I would have a bureaucratic nightmare of collection agencies and stonewalling. This is in my opinion an orchestrated scam.

      I will never use them again and I am glad I didn't step on that "Landmine"

      I was charged $491 for a visit with Psychologist for an hour of their time where I talked the whole time pretty much and got NOTHING out if it. I was supposed to go back in 3 weeks but cancelled my appointment. That is way over the top for one visit. I feel bad for anyone who really has mental health issues and needs help because who can afford to pay that amount of money. I was really going to get some help and struggling and now have cancelled anymore future appointments hoping I can figure it out on my own.

      The Fact alone that not one of the complaints here has even been responded too is saying a huge issue is still at Sanford Health
      they tried charging me 500 for a office visit with medicare they said the
      charge was just for the use of the room for 5 minutes. They threw
      a fit for a entire year before removing the insane not allowed charge.
