      I washed my car at modwash in Youngstown Ohio earlier this year. I apparently was enrolled in some sort of membership program and today I received a fraudulent charge for $19.99 on my credit card freom modwash. After several unanswered emails and waiting for a long time for somebody to answer my call, I was able to cancel my membership (I was told) but they will not refund the charge. I'm only looking for reimbursement.

      I am rejecting this response because: I appreciate your response and offer to reimburse me. You have my credit card number which I used when I registered, so please reimburse  me with that number. . My first call went unanswered because after 20 minutes of music I hung up. My second attempt was successfull. I will not waste my time waiting on the phone again. The fact that BBB has so many complaints on file for the same issue suggests a systems problem, not an isolated case.

      I used the ModWash location in Sicklerville, NJ. I signed up for the subscription package online. When we tried to use it the same day, the website/app would not work. The attendant ended up having to let us in. We were extremely disappointed at the quality when we went through the wash.

      I immediately canceled on the website, but the website was not working properly. It kept refreshing on its own, having errors, but eventually looked like the cancellation went through.

      It turns out that it didn't. When I did my accounting months later, I discovered I was charged for 5 months at $53.30. When I left a review and spoke with customer service, they would not offer me more than 2 months back.

      It isn't fair to have to pay $266.50 for one bad car wash at the fault of a company who's website wasn't working and a customer service policy that is too rigid to own up their own mistakes.

That offer still stands, 60 days of refunds, and 60 days of wash credit. We take full ownership of the fact that we did not earn your business in those 4 months. We also feel confident you were aware of the membership and the charges. Attached you will find record of the email and receipts we sent you. Additionally, you mentioned being unsatisfied with the wash quality! We are really sorry to hear that! We have great pride in the quality we deliver.       I am rejecting this response because:

      I don't want wash credits for a service I wasn't happy with. Your app had issues and I was charged for 5 months. I also didn't discover the receipts until I went on my credit card statement and saw them. I thought I might have missed the emails, but they were in spam. 

      If you truly will take ownership as a company for a poor experience and faulty technology, you would refund the money that was taken from me unjustly. 

      You have a policy as a company not to refund anyone over 60 days. 

      I have a policy as a consumer that I not get money stolen from my account due to poor technology and dishonest management. 

      At the end of the day, I won't pay $266.30 for a single bad car wash. Fix your tech, fix your email deliverability, and establish how to bend around your policy when a mistake is made by YOUR company.

      In September I went to my local Mod Wash location as I had been a customer since they opened with 4 of my vehicles. On this day my vehicles was stuck inside the car wash as I soon found out that it was faulty and a bolt had came out as I was in the wash. I was blowing my horn yelling for an employee to help me. No one came I was forced to drive my vehicle out of the car wash as it rocked back and fourth from being stuck. I proceeded to the back of the car wash where I found several employees including the manager by the name of *********. I explained what happened and he walked inside the car wash and came back pit with a Hugh bolt in his hand stating that the Bolt had come out and caused me to get stuck. We looked around my vehicle for body damage which I didn't see any. I informed him I will drive my vehicle and if I notice any change I will return. Within 10 minutes of me leaving I was back because I noticed a change in my tire where I was stuck in the car wash. He took pictures of my VIN my tires to my name, number, and email and stated that he was submitting the claim and I would be receiving an email. To this day I have not received any email at all about this incident. I have contacted MOD Wash HQ with no avail and have contacted the manager ********* via text message and he contacted me prior. Mod Wash has not provided me with proper documentation per their claim or reason for denial as I was denied less than an hour after leaving the car wash. Sounds pretty crazy to me. Each time I called a requested the claim I never received one instead the last contact I had was ********* himself call me attempting to intimidate me out of this situation. My vehicle was damaged as a result of the Car Wash faulty equipment and this needs to be resolved.

       I have noticed that Mod Wash does not like to take accountability for damage to personal property caused my the car wash I am not satisfied with said claim as it does not provide any detailed information pertaining to my claim. If there is video then the company would in fact see that I was stuck inside of their (Mod Wash) car wash and their employee went in after me and in fact brought out a bolt in his hand from the faulty car wash.

      The attached claim is the first time I was provided any said claim information. In the claim the information is incorrect, I was not pushed out of the car wash, but instead I was forced to manually put my car in drive and drive out of the faulty car wash. If in fact the video was watched then it would show such evidence. Also inside the claim it is missing where a bolt had came out. I am not statisfied with this falsified claim.

      I purchased a family plan for me and my wife’s car and it scratched my car all the h***. I have a 2022 Toyota Camry that I bought brand new off the lot your guises was the only car wash that I ever took it through your manager of the location b******* at me for two months on filing of point I don’t think he ever did, and then upon further inspection, it also has damaged my bumper. I’m done with this company because of the lack of concern or resolution from your location.

      I visited ModWash on 2/11/24. I wanted just a one time wash. The guy who helped me said we could do a $10 wash and that I could come back within 30 days for a free wash. I said sure and gave him my cc info. It is now 3/11/24 and I have a charge on my cc for $19.99. Never did the guy mention that that first initial trip was a start up fee for a membership. He never mentioned that this would start up a MEMBERSHIP. He never stated I would be charged $19.99 monthly!! I am now out $20.00 and will plan on disputing the charges through my bank because I NEVER authorized a membership. There was no email confirmation, text, or anything confirming that this was signed up for so I have no true proof that I was never told this..This is a very crooked and misleading way of doing business. I fear for the others who are stolen from each month.. I will not be returning and I will see that my cc be removed from their system. I have seen multiple complaints that this has happened to many people and that they have cancelled yet their cards are still being charged and that is my fear. Letting BBB know that this is not an ethical business!!!

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I was sent a text and I see that in my history now but I have no record of an email nor did I make an account with you. I gave you my cc for the first initial wash; otherwise how would i have gotten the wash.. I am not accepting this response because you are completely dismissing the fact of the matter. I wanted a one time wash and the guy who helped me offered me a $10 wash and said I could come back within the month and get a free wash. He NEVER stated this was for a membership and never stated $20 would be drafted each month. I would have said no if this was detailed out for me. So you need to educate YOUR employees with how they sell these memberships for you because that was completely misleading. I never signed anything nor agreed to this membership so it may appear to you as so but THAT WAS NOT WHAT I CAME FOR. I will never return nor recommend you to anybody and I hope you learn from this.

      None of their phone numbers work and my email was not answered either. I. Trying to cancel my monthly subscription that i never use and since i signed up at a location i cant unsubscribe online either. I froze my card till someone can reach out and cancel.

      February 7,2024 I went to ModWash ***** ****** **** ********** *** When their employee told me $21.40, I said NO. He told me he would give me a deal. A good deal. I could come unlimited for a month at no extra charge. I returned only once, March 5 or 6. 2024; I have a garage and do not require regular car washes. Ford Edge 2020 ****** Today my credit card was charged $21.40 from ModWash automatic payment. I am 75, fixed income, $21.40 is a meal and a half. When I TRIED to email their listed address: *************************  3 times. All 3 were returned unable to send. It is a false email address. I called. A **** and later ***** told me their policy does not allow them to correct my credit card. This unfair procedure needs to stop. Please. Thank you in advance. They are keeping my $21.40 because their employee unknowingly registered me in an automatic payment. I hope your professionalism shines.

      I am rejecting this response because:they controlled my credit card to give them an automatic payment every month.  I was never told of this swindle by their employee.  I contacted them Babur their charge to me before the date that begins the service they charged me.

      How can they charge me before I use their service and not be able to return my payment?  This automatic charging of one’s credit card due to lies, deception, and fraud must not continue.  Their robbery of senior citizens and their money is reprehensible.  Please investigate and stop them.

      I am rejecting this response because: I notified ModWash that my credit card was automatically charged for an upcoming month.  The month had not begun.  I was already charged.  I called and told them I was not informed of the automatic payment and please do not charge me for the upcoming month's service.  They told me that they did not believe that I was not told of the automatic charge.  Why would I try to cancel a service that I had not yet used if I was told of the automatic charge.  Regardless, I had not used their service, yet they insisted their policy does not return anyone's  money.  I am a senior living on a fixed income. Their stealing from innocent people with deceit must be stopped.

      Was told easy to cancel. Just go to website. The email they give is bogus non-functional. Seems to be they way things are going. Cancel should be easy as promised. They immediately raised the pice over 5 bucks a month. Now what I have to sit on the phone for hours? Always a scam

As a company we take scam claims like this very seriously. We work very hard to earn your business by providing top-notch service. When you enrolled in your membership you were given the ModWash Founder Plan (provided to the first 1,000 customers of a location), the first charge on the account is the promotional introductory rate, $26, which is the equivalent of a single wash charge, after 30 days the membership rate kicks in, in your case it was $29.99 plus tax.  We offer several different ways to cancel your account; via our website ModWash  .com, via phone call Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ************* ** *** ************ ** *************************. Rest assured we are receiving all email requests properly, please disregard any notification of an error. We apologize for any technical difficulties and we are working tirelessly to assist all of our customers at a high level. We are very sorry the relationship with us did not work out! Your current membership is still valid through March 24, 2024. Again, our sincere apologies for any inconvenience, we are happy to help!

      I am rejecting this response because:

      You did not address the phoney email on your website for refunds. You just are going to keep it up continue lying to consumers. Offering a discount for your deception is hardly a repair. How about putting a cancel link instead of the phoney email. It's not the money it's the lie that you can cancel online is the issue. Attorney general office also will not approve. Fix the problem. Or is that a concept you can't or won't address?
