I purchased a rim from the company to try out on my truck and was told that I would receive a full refund if it didn’t work as the specifications on rims are not always correct. As a result the rim would not work on my truck and I was told I would get a refund for the cost of the rim but not shipping cost incurred to ship the rim to me. I was provided a shipping label by Coker and once they received the rim they reduced the refund for the amount incurred for shipping the rim back. To try out the rim resulted in over $70.00 cost to me which was not mentioned initially. Coker tire has received the rim but I have not received a refund.Business Response

i purchased a wheel and center cap set of 4 from the coker tire co at the ******* ******* auction. I received the two rear wheels right away, and the two front took 9 months to get to me. In the mean time multiple emails and phone calls were made regarding the center caps. I was repeatedly told they were on back order and would be shipped out on restock. That was nearly 2 years ago. I made a call again on 9/27 for an update and I'm given no date to stock. Meanwhile, I purchased these wheels to match this center cap and are still offered in the parts catalog at the time as an option to order. I would have never purchased these wheels and center caps if I was only going to receive half the set. Even if I'm offered a refund on the center caps, I'm still stuck with wheels that do not have a matching set after 2 years and repeated phone calls. I'm seeking a refund of the full amount due to the fact they are useless to me w/o the matching set complete and I also have powder coated them in the meantime to prevent rust which was an additional cost to me.Business Response

We have attempted to contact Mr. ****** about his backorder placed in January of 2023 for trim rings and center caps, and have left a voicemail. At this time, we have not charged Mr. ****** for the backordered items on his order and did not anticipate the backorder to take this long. For that, we apologize. As a temporary or long term solution, we could substitute the caps for a non descript baby moon or other Ford cap to complete the look on his existing wheels and look forward to his reply.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Coker has only reached out to me in the past month only after repeated calls and emails to them for nearly 2 years. I will need more time to review the other options that will fit the wheels I purchased. (I have been out of town to respond) I attached a copy of the invoice of the cost of the wheels for those particular caps that I was told would be shipped I was led on and now have wheels and money vested in them w/o caps that I prefer. If they were not available, I would have purchased different wheels with other caps I'd prefer. Unfortunately, the options that you have left at Coker are not appealing to me, that's why I didn't order those. Thanks for explaining I haven't been charged for the parts yet, that is helpful, but it doesn't help me with the investment I made in the wheels and don't have the complete look I'd been told would be available. That is the most frustrating. To be led on and for so long is very poor business practice.
Sincerely,
******* ******Initial Complaint

Purchased 4 tires 6/15/24 ($1400). One tire won't balance calling for almost 11oz of weight. Called & spoke with ***** **** 7/2 who advised he would set up an RMA for the defective tire which I never received. Emailed back 7/5 requesting follow up. No response. Called back 7/8 spoke with ***** **** who advised he would look into it. He emailed me stating that ***** was handling it. Emailed back 7/10 requesting follow up. No response. My husband called 7/15 spoke with **** ******* ***** **** who apologized and sent us an RMA# but we never received the label to return the tire. My husband left multiple voicemails for **** that were not returned. We drove 2 hours to Chattanooga to return the tire on person on 8/3 only to find that they are not open Saturday even though the website says they are from 8-12. I want a replacement for the bad tire. They are being extremely difficult about honoring the warranty they advertise. This tire cost me $375.82 and I can't even use it.Business Response

In 2019 I purchased "new" tires ** ******** ****** **** from Coker. I recently had a safety inspection done and was informed that my tires which should have been no more than about 5 years old were actually close to 10 years old. Basically, they sold me old tires as new. Yes, they had never been used, but I'm technically out 50% of the life of the tires. The manufacturer states that tires should be replaced at about 10 years old, even if there is more than enough tread left. I contacted their customer service, and their response was "I'm sorry, but basically tough luck. Oh, and when you order replacements, call us and we'll check the manufacturer's date. Not even a promise to make sure that I don't get old tires again. Any follow-up emails to **** **** at Coker have been ignored. At a minimum, they should have at least offered a reasonable discount on my being required to replace them years sooner then I needed to and a guarantee that the tire will be no more that 12-18 months old. This is a classic car and over the past 4 years, I have put approximately 4 thousand miles on the tires and have never exceeded 80MPH. Based on that, I should have had at a minimum, another 4-5 years before needing to replace them. Given the lack of customer service I've experienced, I don't expect any real response other than a justification. Additionally, the customer service person noted that their tires are effectively the best price. Yet, I can get them for 10 per tire less at ********, 30 if I get the extended warranty (included at ********). I also did buy the Coker extended warranty when I originally purchased these.Customer Answer

A representative of the company contacted me today. I spoke to him and he is going to check the tire date codes on the tire they have(see email below). He has made no other suggestion/offers at this time. He is supposed to email me back once he gets a response from their warehouse.
Thanks,

I bought 4tires and 4 tubes for a vintage car that belongs to my brother in India. It was discussed that they would have to be shipped overseas. The representative **** took all the details and a payment of $1532 (including $475 for Express shipping) and I was told at the time that all duties and taxes were covered and that the shipment would be delivered within a week. There was no mention of any license or duties required and since I don’t do this for a living I’m not expected to know this information. The shipment was sent on 19th May arrived in India on 23rd May but was held up at customs. They demanded a license and failing that a fee of $600. The carrier ***** held the shipment and my brother was unable to contact anyone for weeks despite many efforts. I asked **** why this was happening but his was a hands off approach. He sent me emails saying that this was not his problem and that my brother had to sort it out. I have made several attempts to get Coker Tire involved to aid in retrieving the shipment but got no help whatsoever. The $600 was paid and in spite of that my brother had to pick up packages from a warehouse to avoid further delay or loss of the items on the 9th of June. **** had not included my brothers contact number on the invoice so that was part of the problem. I asked them for the invoice number with the payment they made to ***** but it was declined. I have never had an experience like this where the salesperson is so helpful until the payment is made and then it’s not their responsibility any longer. I would like for the tire company to compensate us the shipping fees since they did not fulfill their obligations to us as promised when the payment was made. It has caused us undue stress and an unexpected payment of $600 had to be made, which had I been aware of may not have made the purchase in the first placeBusiness Response

On May 17, 2023, Customer ordered tires on behalf of her
brother and had them shipped to India through *****. The order included
shipping charges, and the product arrived in India on May 23, 2023. On
arrival, the shipment was held at customs and recipient was asked to provide an
importing license. Not having the required documents, the recipient was charged
and additional $615 fee to receive the delivery. We reached out to Customer on July 17, 2023, and on
July 18, 2023, issued a credit of $615 as a gesture of good faith. Customer is satisfied, this matter is closed.
