I bought my 2018 Nissan Pathfinder certified pre-owned. I did not realize at the time of purchase that the CVT transmission in my vehicle was involved in class-action lawsuit. My vehicle has 67,000 miles on it and is well in the limits of the extended warranty. My vehicle is currently in the shop and has been for three weeks now. The dealership let me know to begin with that it was hard to diagnose the CVT transmission issues. They were having problems being able to tell if it was the transmission valve, the whole transmission, or the transfer case that was causing the issues with my vehicle. During this time I requested a rental car but they told me they didn't have any available and were unable to find me a car to drive for the three weeks they have had my only form of transportation. I asked about finding my own rental and they let me know that Nissan wouldn't reimburse if it wasn't approved rental by them. Under the recommendation of Nissan they replaced my entire transmission. After replacing the transmission my car is still not fixed, so they call and tell me they believe it is the transfer case and it should be covered by the warranty because it is directly bolted to the transmission. After waiting three more days for a response from consumer affairs they let me know that they approved it for 90/10, which means they are claiming the part is not covered by warranty. This part is directly connected to the CVT transmission, at this point they have admitted the transmission is faulty, who is to say what other parts havent been affected by the faulty transmission. I will have to pay 10% of the $6,000 dollars it would cost. The part itself is only $2,900 which means the labor would be $3,000 dollars. A replacement transmission is $6,600 so I am not understanding how the labor on this $3,000. I have called consumer affairs again 3 days ago and have yet to receive a call back from my case manager. They have saved my 10% portion by not providing me with a rental car!

Nissan is the worst dealership to buy a car from. They have no sympathy nor they have any consideration to the consumer. I purchase a 2011 Nissan Leaf from an auction. After further research i come to find out that Nissan doesn't offer any services to either replace nor to refurbish the cells. They charged a service fee of 200 dollars knowing well the symptoms of a depleted battery. After several calls to Nissan customer care, they even arrange a service visit to get an SD card that is taken from the car and refused to help secure a new card knowing that the SD is central to the radio, map charging and the A/C service. When reaching the dealer, they claimed my only option is to buy an entire radio system that cost 3700 dollars. Nissan doesn't really care about maintaining the Nissan owners but only to sell new cars.

I purchased my Nissan Rogue 2015 as certified preowned. In 4 years(2 Covid years included with less driving and working remotely for 13 months). The transmission has now gone up. Nissan offered 50% help with the repair but no rental assistance. I just want the car paid off and start with a more reliable car not made by Nissan. My sister and brother in law had to replace their Maxima and Infinity transmissions in less than 3 years of having their cars. Nissan is unreliable and my family is too valuable for this.

I purchased my 2016 Nissan Altima from *********** Nissan on 12/7/2016. In 2019 my Altima started jolting and slamming into park - found out from *********** Nissan Service Center that my transmission was going out and I needed a new one. Prior to this incident - while my Altima was in the beginning stages of the transmission going out I was sold an overpriced battery from the *********** Nissan dealership and told that was the reason for the vehicle shutting off and come to find out from them later it was indeed the transmission going out. I was instructed to the call the warranty servicer that I had purchased. According to them my car was 2k miles over the warranty of 60k to have transmission replaced and they refused to cover the costs. Ultimately since the car was financed and I this was my only transmission to get to and from work and I lived 30 miles away I ended up losing my vehicle due to repossession by ******************* and every time I would contact Nissan USA Consumer Affairs or anyone ... no one was trying to hear what I had to say. I'm left with damaged credit and not able to get another car. Even though the class action suit was in the beginning stages of a class action lawsuit there was nothing that could be done to help me since I was no longer in possession of the car. Nissan is the worst and i'm stuck with the debt and no car. If it wasn't for BBB requesting to leave a star. Nissan wouldn't even get the one star. I purchased a 2014 Nissan Sentra from *********** Nissan as well and wow the Sentra's transmission went out on that one too. Luckily they honored that one...just not the Altima.

I purchased a 2019 Nissan Rogue, a month later the radiator fan is faulty and now Nissan is holding my car for over 6 weeks because of a back order part. I am not upset about the part being on backorder, it is the fact they they are not giving me a loaner car and their consumer services have lied as to the delivery dates of my part consistently. Did I mention I paid for the car in full and my income depends on my ability to have a vehicle. I will never buy from Nissan ever again and encourage other potential buyer to stay away from Nissan as well.

Why don't you honor your warranty?! Brand new Nissan Armada purchased in January 2022. Dealership confirmed damaged paint. Nissan refuses to pay the $2,700 to repair it through their dealership. Warranty Information Booklet clearly states it is covered. 8,000 miles on the vehicle. Dealership confirms the damage was there prior to me buying this vehicle brand new. Yet, Nissan refuses to cover the damage.

I purchased a brand new Nissan Altima in 2009. It was awesome until the paint started chipping. I assumed it was due to debris etc at the mill I worked at. I had 2 kids so needed to upsize went to a ***. Fastforward I traded my *** in for a brand new 2021 nissan terrain. Let me tell you I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AS LONG SS I LIVE. ****** if this paint isn't doing the same thing on top of that the seat belts don't retract properly. I've had this truck for a year and it looks like I've had it for 5 years. Please note my truck is washed every week. I seriously hate and regret this purchase. Y'all ****!

If Nissan refuses to repair their defective transmission because it's "outside the warranty period," please file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in the state where you live. That's what I have done. There is not way they should NOT be held accountable for the defective transmissions they have put in their vehicles. Be warned also, if you have a life-time warranty, it's only as valuable as the paper it's written on. The warranty company will not make the repairs if you can not present them with every single one of your service records - utterly ridiculous. How about making Nissan present all of their records regarding the defective and useless transmissions they've put in their vehicles. Also be warned, Nissan "patched" up the transmission in my car when it first went out. Now 60k miles later, the transmission has failed again. Nissan patches the transmission which does not fix the problem, and later on down the road you will need to have it fixed again. Terrible, terrible company. I will never buy another Nissan and I've been a loyal customer for the last 25-30 years.
