    I was pre-approved for an auto loan by my primary bank and provided the dealership with my pre-approval letter. However, the dealership told me that my bank was no longer offering the terms listed in the letter and presented me with loan offers from four other banks, all with higher rates.I ended up choosing a loan with a lower interest rate from one of the banks the dealership suggested. It wasnt until my bank contacted me about the loan that I realized the dealership had misrepresented the original offer. It also seems that the dealership ran my social security number through their system as if I were applying for a loan with them directly, even though I had already secured pre-approval through my bank.I reached out to the dealership four different times between 01/28/2025-02/25/2025 to try and get this issue resolved. Each time I was met with a different response on the issue being handled. Ultimately, I was told too much time has and there was nothing they could do.

    Mr. ********* came in with a generic approval *********************  He did not submit it on any specific vehicle.  Once we submitted the vehicle over, our approval from *************** did not come back with the rate the customer had on his pre-approval.  I explained to customer that *** did not send us back the same rate.  We did submit him to couple other banks trying to get closer to the rate on the preapproval. We also do have a signed credit application for this inquiry.  His rate on the letter through BOA was 7.19% and I was able to get a rate thru *********** @ 7.99%.  I explained to him that it would only change his payment by about $5.  He seemed fine with that and said he appreciated me trying to match that rate. He does have an option to have the vehicle refinanced through *************** if they are willing to honor the preapproved rate.
